21306: The Beatles Yellow Submarine (LEGO Ideas)
x105Black replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yes! He's such a great character. I agree. There are many Beatles incarnations that would be excellent, and I hope they continue to make them for us. -
Are people still able to get this tag?

Best post in the thread. I like the modular, lots of great little features throughout. Not what I was expecting at all, but it works.

I've only read a few of them, myself. The one's I've read have been good, but there are almost always things that don't seem right. All of the books I've read were from the old Expanded Universe, and there were a lot of strange things that I didn't like because I didn't feel they went with the movies. I assume the new books (and comics) are better about this, but they did give Han Solo a wife before Leia so I'm not sure how confident I am in that statement.

I felt the same. I watched Celtic Pride again, because it was on at work. It's not a bad flick.

Just wanted to say I've noticed some more updates, and the site is looking better. No more double ranks on the profiles, that's nice. Looking forward to the themed banners. Keep up the good work! One complaint: could the line that separates the posts from the signatures be made more prominent? Now that the signature font color has become darker (or people are darkening it, not sure which), it is more difficult to tell a post from a signature because the light grey line is barely visible. Anyways, good job everyone! Thanks a lot for all of the hard work.

I'd like it to have Han & Chewie, but I don't think it needs Finn or Rey. A Rathtar would be nice, preferably molded: It's not about screen time, it's about the ship itself. I would absolutely love to get the gate with the Quadjumper. I agree. There are some cool redesigns, but this was a nice unique design. I think so. I don't like when minifigures are rare, it means that some people will be unable to get them or have to pay ridiculous prices to get them, and I find both of these to be unacceptable. I agree, rare minifigures negatively impacts the end-user. I was going to point this out, as well. The last thing we want is for money to go to a bootleg competitor rather than into LEGO's profits. Keeping minifigures rare will do just that.

LEGO Ideas Discussion
x105Black replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I had to look that up, as I had never heard of Crystal Maze, Crystal Dome, or Stand Up To Cancer. It might make a good set, but it's basically a large glass geodesic dome, and I would think the maze itself would be too big to be viable. -
I finished Something Wicked This Way Comes, and am now about halfway through the Martian Chronicles by the same author. It's a really interesting read.
-
That all depends on who they include with the set...
-
Well, they did the First Order Snowspeeder...
-
I just watched The 'Burbs. That's a fantastic movie. Absolutely hilarious.

It's a decent MOC, but it's not a good Ideas set. Honestly, I'll agree with everyone here that says it doesn't really capture the source material properly (and couldn't without it being larger and much more expensive). So, if it is approved, then I no longer care about LEGO Ideas. Of course, it doesn't matter if either one of us no longer cares, we are only 2 customers among millions.

I think it's a good MOC, but I'm not sure that translates too well into a profitable set. -
I just received my Max Rebo minifigure today. Very excited.

These 3 sound the best to me. The Quadjumper was a cool design. I wonder if it will have an exploding function. It's a fairly large ship, so the price doesn't seem too far off. And as someone else said above, maybe this will give us some of those other background characters. The Guavian Death Gang will be cool. For the price, I would expect at least 2 Death Gang members. That'd be good, as their design was pretty solid. But it is a quite expensive set, I wonder what else it will have. The Vader Transformation scene will be great. It's a relatively inexpensive set, so if it delivers I will have it.

I completely agree. I've ordered minifigures that didn't have an indication of assembly in their listings, and was disappointed when they were all put together. On an unrelated note, is anyone currently having issues accessing BrickLink? I can't seem to get to my Orders page, among others.

Latest CMF series impact on Historic themes

I agree, the Batman parts are not very useful. And taken as a whole, it looks like Nexo Batman. -
The position and future of Friends and minidolls in Lego?
x105Black replied to Dorayaki's topic in General LEGO Discussion
For me, it's not just the inferior / superior argument, it's also the compatibility issue. I don't think they are compatible, the 2 types of figures look awful together. -
'Wishlist' minifigures should be posted here: What minifigs are we missing - post your detailed suggestions here That said, I like the idea. I'm a fan of both the Monster Fighters and Scooby Doo versions (I like the details on the former and the colors on the latter), and would love a well done CMF version.

I really like the Moroff minifigure, but I honestly think it could have been better. I would have preferred a stud on the back instead of the cut off hair. I feel that this way, it will reduce his overall bulk. It also makes his hair length a little uneven between the front and back. I'm not too keen on the prints on the legs, either, but that's not really an issue. Overall, I'm very happy with the figure, and will likely end up getting one off of BrickLink.

21306: The Beatles Yellow Submarine (LEGO Ideas)

Agreed, this will be mine! I might have to get 2, it's so nice! I doubt there will be more, but I love the idea of Dimensions. I would really enjoy that. K'Nex has absolutely no appeal to me (and most people here), there is no comparison. This is an easy buy for me. -

I haven't had any real issues with the feeling method. Over several series, I've only had a few misses. That said, I would rather them not be mysterious. It's a waste of time feeling the packages.
