Force Friday (30th September) promotions
x105Black replied to Richpepperell's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I went to the LEGO Store this morning to get a gift for my niece, and while I was there I asked if they had any leftover Darth Revan polybags. They said that it was a 1 day only deal, and that they are very strict with the Star Wars license because they don't want to lose it. Makes sense. -
I'd like to see more variety in battle packs. Let's see Wookiees, Ewoks, and other aliens. Let's see people from Jabba's Palace or the Cantina in Mos Eisley. I guess what I'm saying is that we could have similar packs without the need for them to be centered on the warfare aspect of the universe.

Looks like they missed an opportunity to add arm printing here.

Looks like mine has shipped as well. That was faster than I had expected. -
I think that's absolutely a possibility. It's the long, drawn out approach. Make everyone buy the same minifigure a billion times, getting slightly better each time. But they've shown that they can do so much more, and as I've said, this is one of their biggest themes. This theme should be among those pushing the envelope as the most advanced. I haven't seen a good image of her in the poncho, so I don't know what her legs look like in that outfit. It might actually be fine. I'll reserve my judgement on that one for now.

Imagine that. Maybe with a combination of dual molding and printing?

Great pictures. It's really nice to see them all in scale next to each other.
-
Now that's a winning idea.

Good point, and I apologize if I have made others feel left out. The good news is that it seems the prices have dropped significantly already (check ebay). I expect that to last a while. Darth Revan is no longer for the rich and famous. He's the people's sith lord. -
Great point. Not every character needs these details, but it's obvious when they are missing from those that could really benefit from it. For example, any character with prominent boots of a different color should have them dual molded. That would include most Jedi, like Prequel Obi-Wan, as well as Imperial Officers, like Grand Moff Tarkin. Exactly. And all the printing detail from the polybag. Speaking of printing, the Stormtroopers mentioned above could certainly use hip printing. That's another example of how they have taken a step backwards, as they have had it in the past.

I just assembled the Rebel Alliance Battle Pack, and I'm wondering if LEGO will give the 2017 Boba Fett the new jetpack piece seen in these battle packs, or if they will continue to use the old piece (which still looks good). Here's the new piece: I can see how it could be used for Boba Fett, but it will need more than a 1x1 tile on that stud to make it work. This old piece is still just fine for him (and other Mandalorians): I expect them to continue using the standard jetpack (but I do hope that they give him arm printing, it would be a waste not to). Anyways, just thinking out loud I guess.

I purchased the Rebel Alliance Battle Pack today. It's a nice pack with plenty of useful pieces.

I just picked up the Advent Calendar with another Revan.

I just went back to the LEGO store and managed to get a couple more Revans with the help of my friend. Very happy, it's a really cool minifigure with cool parts. -
LEGO Ideas Discussion
x105Black replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Interesting that the supporters have dropped. It's definitely too big to pass review. In my opinion, this is a gorgeous build, but does not belong on Ideas. -
That's probably true. They realize that people are going to buy them anyways. And since the resale value of Star Wars products has historically been high, there will always be people buying them to sell later. So, there's no real hope of people voting with their wallets on this one. I agree, there are many characters that have never been done, and many that have been done to death. However, some of those characters that have been done a million times are still not up to the standards seen in other themes (like Super Heroes or Collectible Minifigures). The newest iteration of Han has new hair. That's great, the new hair looks fantastic, but they could have taken the time to add dual molding for the boots and side leg printing for the line on his pants. I agree. Some Episode 7 characters lacked the level of detail seen in other themes. Rey could have had dual molded arms to represent the bare flesh on her shoulders. And the legs you mention are another good point. This continues into other Star Wars properties. The most recent Ahsoka could have had dual molded arms as well (along with accurate saber blades, but that's a different story). Boba Fett had printed arms in the UCS Slave I set, but when he was released the next year he had plain unprinted arms. That's a step down. Similarly, there was a very detailed Episode 7 C-3PO minifigure polybag last year, but this year's version of the character lacks the printed details, and could have benefited from a dual molded leg. I hope that LEGO can maximize the potential of the Star Wars theme, as it is one of their biggest and most popular themes. I know that I have held back on purchasing sets because of these issues, or chosen to only purchase the parts I wanted from BrickLink.

I got a couple of Revans (because I had someone go with me and buy something using my cash). Very excited. Thanks for this list. Unfortunately, the promotion was over an hour ago at the listed Walmart closest to me. I went to the local Walmart earlier, not knowing it was limited, and they didn't have anything (no Rogue One sets either). -
I picked up Krennic's Imperial Shuttle. I was so excited to be getting that set with double points and the Revan minifigure, I didn't even think to ask about the Ultimate Lavaria. I guess I'll have to make my way back out there.

Krennic's Imperial Shuttle is a really cool set. I think it's the best of the wave. If I was only interested in the main cast, I would get the U-Wing, but I'm more interested in villains anyways.

Those are actually pretty cool, and a neat way to sell the minifigure. -

A large number of people who wanted Revan were able to get one, so I imagine that will reduce the demand, which should in turn reduce the prices. And we're not sure exactly how many of these are available now, but the estimate is around 140k orders, I'd estimate at least 100k Revans new to the market. Even if 75% of people keep them, that's still 25k new Revans for sale. That should drop prices (as long as they aren't all in the hands of scalpers who will artificially inflate demand by reducing how much of their supply is available at any given time). I managed to get a few Revans myself, but I really want to see that price come down for those that weren't able to get one. -
That's awesome. I'm glad Enlighten is taking advantage of this absence, hopefully this will inspire LEGO to make their move back into the Pirate game.

That's a shame. I agree with this, though. I'm happy that it will (thoretically) have a conclusion, and I'll look forward to whatever comes next. -
I believe I should be eligible for this. May I please have the tag?

Managed to get a few free First Order General polybags at TRU. Also got 2 shirts, and am on the list for 2 posters (they didn't have them in the store). Purchased a Wookiee Gunship Microfighter online, and the Darth Revan polybag should be included. Planning to go to the LEGO Store when they open tomorrow to see if I can get another, possibly by purchasing the Advent Calendar, or maybe Krennic's Imperial Shuttle. Not a bad Rogue Friday so far.
