  1. What I'm wondering is this: If you're returning to LEGO and are missing several minifigures, would you rather buy a 5-10 year old outdated version of a character, or would you rather see a nice, updated, modern version to build your collection? I guess I don't understand this complaint. On the other hand, there are a lot of veterans who have many minifigures already, and if there is an update to a character, then those veterans will want to buy the new versions. This isn't that big of a deal with individual characters, but with army builders like Stormtroopers, it can be a pain to update your entire army (not to mention expensive). So I understand this complaint. I still don't agree, because this feels like holding up progress for everyone because of a somewhat selfish minority, but I do understand that frustration it would bring.
  2. There is also this one:
  3. I guess if you're into the trans neon orange, you'd like it better. I prefer the old style. Looked a bit more like a character out of the Castle theme, whereas now he looks like he's from a Space theme.
  4. Completely unnecessary.
  5. Jurassic World was actually a really enjoyable film. I don't really like the idea of the new Ghostbusters movie getting such a big role in Dimensions. There are so many others that would be better for it. I mean, I can understand it getting its own Adventure World, but to have the whole big set it got, that was a bit too much. I'd much sooner buy an Adventure Time pack of the same scale, for example.
  6. Old Lance was much better. Good find, though!
  7. I just picked this up today. Really looking forward to building it! I love the packaging.
  8. That's what I'm hoping for.
  9. After an initial look, those 3 villains on the top look like some of the best looking minifigure designs I've seen in a while. Of course, it's hard to make out the details.
  10. I was going to say the opposite, considering the trans neon orange visor and the new shoulders, Maybe the minifigure itself is a little more knight-like, but with all of the accessories she looks even more Nexo.
  11. I disagree. If the set designs are good enough, they should still sell well (a good example in your post, actually, is the Slave I).
  12. I only came back to LEGO a couple of years ago, so I have a lot of characters to buy still. But I'm glad there was a new Gamorrean Guard recently, because it's a huge upgrade over the previous and I was able to collect the newer, better version. There are characters I haven't collected yet because they have not been updated to the modern standards of other characters, something that's not an issue with other themes.
  13. Fair enough. Let's hope it's the more detailed version.
  14. That's what I want to know. Their Moderators need to do a better job.
  15. Similarly, it won't ruin the Slave I if that version of Boba Fett is available elsewhere. Anyways, I'm sorry for continuing this tangential conversation in this thread (although it is relevant). Perhaps we can continue to discuss this issue here:
  16. So it has come to light that the Boba Fett included in the Desert Skiff set will be the less detailed version from the Carbon Freezing Chamber rather then the more detailed version from the Slave I. This is the kind of thing that makes other themes more attractive. Other themes include highly detailed characters even in the cheaper sets, Star Wars should be doing the same. Instead, they are keeping this Boba Fett exclusive to a very expensive set (which is a good enough set to sell well on its own, I don't think the arm printing is selling the sets). LEGO needs to change their policy when it comes to Star Wars and minifigure details, especially in light of how they handle other themes.
  17. I played some Minecraft today. Found a nice Mesa to call home.
  18. Well I completely disagree that Boba Fett is the only way to make the Slave I desirable, as it is a beautifully rendered set in its own right. But no, I didn't expect that Boba Fett in the Skiff Set. I expected LEGO to skimp, as they did. I just hoped for better from them.
  19. The Halloween motif is wonderful!
  20. The Featured Topics sidebar works so much better in the Portal than the Forum index.
  21. Disappointed that the Carbon Freezing Chamber version of Boba Fett will be in the Desert Skiff. In my opinion, if you've made a highly detailed version of the character, use that for all future releases of that character (until an even more highly detailed version is released).
  22. That's a fair theory, and it makes sense in a historical context.
  23. I just played a really fun game called The Beard In The Mirror. Interesting and heartwarming.
  24. Of course I'm talking about the overall quality of the minifigure, of which level of detail is a factor. That's a shame, I'm hoping that's just a preliminary image.
  25. I'm not sure that the movies are the whole story. While I believe Nexo Knights is showing a satisfactory performance, I don't think it's as popular as LEGO and Big Bang fans were hoping. But perhaps this is a discussion for another topic? Something about the perceived success or failure of the Nexo Knights theme?
