Eh, aye. Ninja faces still look neanderthal. Lloyd's dragon looks cool. The boat (bounty?) looks cool. The shark looks funny The rest of vehicles for the Ninja's get to much showtime. It is about Ninja's not their means of transport. In the Lego movie universe the water can be either blue lego bricks or real water. So that is not an issue to moan about.

Although I've only saw the teaser: I know what's wrong with the faces! In the tv-cartoon serie the faces retained Lego minifig features. In this teaser-trailer for the movie the figures are made as real Lego (the stop-motion effect through CGI) but the faces do not look like Lego minifig facial expressions. It is a mismatch! The ninja faces from the movie also look somewhat as neanderthalers... That is just a visual. The movie can still be good or bad.

Nice job! Really well done. I'm driving a Miata for over 15 years now. :) Good to see the front smile. I think the door should have a bit more curve (the upper line) but I guess that is quite hard to pull of in Lego.

I think discussion about the houses should go into the city subforum. If not, the disussion about modular buildings should come into the special themes subforum. Both are flying the creator flag. :)

[MOD] 75102 X-wing S-foil, rubber band, and landing gear fix
horizon replied to Flandy's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Excellent job Flandy, I think the instructions posted are enough to copy it. I just miss the extra parts needed to get studs up on the wings. So I'm trying alternatives... -
lolz. I grew up with the original unaltered trilogy. So yes, I see the bare sets, the poor acting of Mark Hamill (his Joker is ace though!), the so-called light saber duel between Obi-Wan & Darth Vader (get back into that bacta tank asap! ;) ) and the cheesy ending celebrations. And yes I still like that movie. :) Oh did you know that iffy thing: there is this kid being called Skywalker by everyone and just lives on that planet. And Darth Vader nor an Imperial officer would've checked out someone with that last name.... still like it, though. Why? Because it is an entertaining movie, it is a milestone in sci-fi movie history, it's awesome. Same applies to the Force Awakens: an excellent entertaining space adventure. And yes it re-uses a lot from a New Hope, that's cool. Lucas used Valerian and a City of a thousand planets as well. edit: back to Rogue One: funny to watch some of the trailers. The unused material in the movie is quite a bit. Saw grew some hair as well. :) Been a week since I saw Rogue One. Is getting better. :)

An iconic moment in A New Hope is the Trench run. So perhaps Lego will do a brick build trench run with 3 X-Wings followed by 3 Tie Fighters. Playable set in the midi-scale.
-
Dunno about royalties but his estates have been asked if they could use him in the movie.
-
Yes. Easily. The Force Awakens is an improved version of A New Hope. I put Revenge of the Sith above ANH & RotJ as well. Because from the order 66 moment on Revenge of the Sith is the most brutal & grimdark movie in the whole saga. Oh, check out Valerian and the City of Thousand Planets next year, the comic of that movie is where Lucas got his Star Wars inspiration from in the first place. ;)

Rogue One is really good. Above expectations as Edwards & Gillroy made the Godzilla crap as well. 1.Empire Strikes Back 2.The Force Awakens 3.Revenge of the Sith/Rogue One 4.A New Hope/Return of the Jedi 5.the Phantom Menace 6.Attack of the Clones Being 4th is still 95/100 ;)
-
Grew up with the original trilogy and I must say Rogue One is very good, just slightly below: 1.Empire Strikes Back 2.The Force Awakes 3.Revenge of the Sith/Rogue One 5.A New Hope/Return of the Jedi 6.The Phantom Menace 7.Attack of the Clones

Will Chima return to the world of LEGO
horizon replied to brickmerchant114's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Aanchir had it correct: compared to Ninjago 90% other themes will fall flat. What I would like to know is, unrelated to the topic though, is what the difference in popularity is between Ninjago spinners, Chima racers & Ninjago flyers. I still think, so can be wrong, that a huge deal of Ninjago succes came from (a good tvshow) and the spinning thing. -

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

While the sets are not finished they are for 98% complete I reckon. And they look crap. Honestly the only interesting built seems to be the forge. The dragon, big weird thing look like Nexo force junky-ness. And the vehicles are unimpressive. I think they need to be designed badly so the movie sets will be more popular. -
Hey, just to let you know that this forum upgrade is a really good one. Love the layout and spacing you created. Last weeks & months I complained on various websites about their so called upgrades and new designs. Eurobricks is the first site since a long time to have a good upgrade. Keep it up.

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

A bit of weird choice for Sensei Wu. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensei So Sensei Garmaddon will become Master Garmaddon as well then? Heck, just make them Lord Wu & Lord Garmaddon.... oh wait.... -
LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
horizon replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Actually I modded the original Bounty for the kids and now it looks cooler then the final flight version. lolz Widening the "wing-engines" was 80% of the solution. Personally I think, set wise, that the best sets have been in the Skeleton wave (Fire Temple, the four dragons (Lightning!!!), Skull Truck, Skull Crusher, Dojo etc), the serpetine wave had really good stuff (Bounty, That snake heli, Samuarai X, Cole's car, Jay's fighter). The stone wave was small (son got all of them due a generous family member) had some nice designs but excelled with minifigs. I found the nindroid wave a let down, the elemental tournament wave buggered on the whole. The Ghost wave was another step up with its great dragons and Ronin REX and excellent minifigures again. The latest line with the pirates was again a step down. The sketches are only sketches. I will comment on real pictures. -
I dunno, didn't watch shelves in stores but Ninjago has always been more known then Chima here (Netherlands). I even doubt Nexo knights will be succesfull. But even within Ninjago there is different layers of succes. I have no numbers but I feel that spinners are still the most succesfull in the "gaming" department with bricks compared to airjitzu. Spinners were everywhere. Stores held tournaments etc. But you don't see that with airjitzu.

REVIEW: 70751 Temple of Airjitzu

Daughter got this set and I must say: no pictures do this justice, the set is grand! -
nvm

The Hillside House. My daughter still loves it. Good build. ps I think creator houses fit better in "Town" then friends (who are so big to warrant an own subforum).
-
I don't understand the positive fuzz. The sets look daft. All of them. :(
-
Wow, the 2016 sets look really... Crappy. The theme has so much potential and then they do this??? Totally lacking any good inspiration.
-
Ow, the Ronin R.E.X. is one of the better sets since ninjago exists. Really cool build and playability.
