I have the opposite impression. What I don't like in the official 42125 is that the front looks really disjointed. The diagonal lines from panels 50 and 51 ruin the face for me. Also the curve of the printed headlights don't really go well with that of other panels. I prefer the flat simplified look of the smaller model in the front. Also the side #21 and 22 panels really flow inward with the stickers. Another thing that I like is that the small model actually sits low on the ground.

I've managed to find a way to put the PF battery box and receiver into the model. Since there is very little space in the back, I've decided not to include any direction switching or mapping mechanism. When the thing flips over, it's most convenient to just flip the controller. The only thing left is the test build. I'm gonna use parts from an used 42095 I bought, and get the remaining parts from Bricklink. Unfortunately this set has not been inventoried there yet, so now I'll just have to wait.

I think this interesting fact has slipped a lot of people's minds, including Sariel's and @mostlytechnic's : Panels #3 and #4 are not available in regular blue until now. This set is the first set ever that contains those panels in regular blue. Isn't it shocking?! @kbalage I hope this will be mentioned in your review videos. Their shorter variants (panels #1 and #2) have been released, but they are no less rare. They have appeared in only 5 sets so far, with the 42123 McLaren Senna being the most recent and 42042 being the second most recent.

In the real model, the position of the derrick is also controllable. Therefore I think the 3 motors in the superstructure will control derrick, boom, and winch. There are multiple designs for the counterweight ballast tray. https://www.liebherr.com/en/aus/products/mobile-and-crawler-cranes/crawler-cranes/lr-crawler-cranes/technologies/derrick-and-counterweight.html

There's a new problem with PF conversion that I learned of yesterday: When the model flips over, the motor that controls the left track will now control the right track, and vice versa. I can try to switch the direction by connecting the motors to the polar switch, thanks to the suggestion of @R0Sch, but I can't think of any way to change the mapping between motors and tracks. Maybe it's just more convenient to flip the controller. That way both the direction and the motor mapping will match.
