  1. A liftarm cannot rotate when passing through both the top and the bottom halves.
  2. The guy with the unfitting thumbnail facial expression strikes again.
  3. If you think about it, one reason the bevel 20z is useful is that in the A model it might be used for horizontal transmission while in the B model it might be used for perpendicular transmission. However, given the death of B models, there's really no need for the bevel gear unless it is needed exactly in perpendicular transmission in the A model. The Airbus still has at least 1 black 20z bevel gear, and it is used exactly in perpendicular transmission.
  4. I think the lime version looks pretty ok. Something that's been holding me back about getting this set is the white panels. Recently I took the 42096 out for a display, and I discovered that the white panels aged horribly. Since then I've been wary of getting sets with white panels.
  5. I've finally solved the last problem with my PF mods. For some reasons I still don't really understand, with the PF mod, the model can move forward with reasonable speeds, but really struggles when moving backwards. I figured the problem is inadequate torque, and after a series of attempts, I finally found the way to gear down the motor. The ratio of the new design is (12/20)^2*(16/20)^3, or 0.18:1. The model can move backwards on both tracks now, but still slightly struggle when moves backward on one track. However, I think the most recent setup is the most optimal within the space constraints already. Updated instruction is coming soon.
  6. Not really, the control for the battery box is blocked in one direction. The bottom one controls the landing gears.
  7. I would have no problem with it if the Airbus H175 license is removed and everything else stays the same. If it's a licensed model then being compared with the original machine is inevitable, and a certain degree of similarity is expected.
  8. They are openable, just like those in the real helicopter.
  9. Apparently there are two switches on one side and one switch on the other side. According to the stickers, one switch will control the winch function, but there are two winches in the model. Does that mean both of them are connected to the one switch, or is there another switch somewhere that I missed?
  10. It feels pretty meh for its price. It's just a one gimmick pony and that's it, similar to the Zetros. At least the Zetros looks cool, has a brand name, has a new mechanic. I already have a PF mod going, and now that I have the set I'll test in sometime.
  11. Got a used 42140 today and gave it a build. Boy the screwing and unscrewing is just not fun.
  12. Found another error in the instruction. The knob gear in the 45 degree rotated position is somehow inserted into an axle hole in the upright position. This structure is built identically in the Sian, so I checked the Sian instruction. In that one the knob gear is inserted in the upright position.
  13. Ah yes. I visited Ldraw a few days ago but didn't catch that part. That site still doesnt have all of the new parts though.
