Well I certainly did not mean "TLG will not produce a type of machine twice" or "TLG will not create a set's function twice", because there are only a finite amount of machines. What I meant was what you said. For every new version or iteration they will add a little tiny twist and bells and whistles to it. It's not much, but there is almost always an addition of sth. And that is enough for me to say TLG tries not to repeat themselves.

I'm gonna say this thing will be an airplane because I can't think of how a helicopter set can have 2001 pieces. The Osprey is the largest Technic aircraft so far and it only has 1635 pieces. The 5 large Technic aircrafts that have been released in order of decreasing part count is 42113, 42025, 42066, 9396, 42052. The first three are airplanes. https://brickset.com/sets/tag-Aircraft/theme-Technic Also, the fuselages of the two helicopters (9396, 42052) has the width of 11L, while those of the first two aircrafts (42113, 42025) has the width of 9L. Therefore I think this new airplane will have a fuselage of 11L. Since it's licensed, I think it has to be something cool and recognizable or well known enough and has to be big. I'd say it's an Airbus Beluga.

If the flagship is a loader, the next big tyre and rim will be produced. Producing fancy new molds and parts seems to be the trend for the Technic lineup these years. The Volvo L350F is the biggest front loader in the Technic line up so far, but it's not the biggest in the world, so it makes sense that TLG wants to go for an XL loader. In the photo, the tyre of the L350F has the diameter of approximately the height of an adult. The tyre of the biggest loader in the world, the CAT 994K, the diameter of twice the height of an adult. The XL loader must have something to justify the size. Assuming it has one hub with 4 ports, I have some ideas: - 42030 setup: one motor for drive, one motor for steer, one motor for bucket lift, one motor for bucket tilt. - 42131 setup: one motor for drive, one motor for steer, one motor to switch between a gearbox with two or three functions. The functions can be bucket lift, bucket tilt. Maybe a motorized ladder. - 42114 setup: one motor for drive, one motor for steer, one motor to switch between driving gears and bucket lift, and one motor for bucket tilt. - 42070 setup: two motors for power, one motor for mode switch, one motor for gear switch. In the drive mode, the two motors for power will drive and steer, and a third motor will switch between gears. In the bucket mode, the two motors will lift and tilt bucket. - 8043 setup: three motors for power, one motor for mode switch. In the drive mode, the three motors for power will drive and steer and maybe move the ladder.. In the bucket mode, the two motors will lift and tilt bucket. I'd prefer a 42070 setup.

42146 - Liebherr LR13000 2882 pieces $599.99 Available August 2022 From promobricks.de Probably the most impressive set of the upcoming LEGO Technic 2022 summer novelties of the second half of the year will be a huge crane. It will probably be a Liebherr LR 13000, which in real life is the most powerful crawler crane in the world with a load capacity of 3000 tons. The maximum system length of the crane is 246 m, which also makes it the largest crawler crane of all time. Set number: 42146 Designation: [Liebherr LR 13000] Number of parts: 2882 Release date: [01. August 2022] Availability: LEGO Recommended age: 18+ MSRP: $599.99 And the LEGO model will probably be just as impressive: we expect it to be at least 1.50 m tall, making it a real eye-catcher in any Technic collection. It is currently known that the number of parts should be 2882. According to our information, the crane will cost US$599.99, making it by far the most expensive Technic model and even the fifth most expensive LEGO set ever. The discrepancy between price and part count (over 20 cents per part) can probably be explained by the use of a lot of electronic Control+ elements. Also, it's possible that LEGO used a lot of large moldings for the crane's lattice masts, driving the price up and the part count down. Unfortunately, we can't say with absolute certainty at the moment whether the impressive set will also be released in August, or whether it will be released later in the fall, like the 42131 CAT D11 Bulldozer . Go nuts

42145 - Airbus H175 Rescue Helicopter 2001 pieces $199.99 Available August 2022 From promobricks.de After the 42113 Bell Boing V-22 Osprey had to be taken off the market 2 years ago before it even appeared properly, the Danes now present us with the next "Rescue Helicopter" in the Technic series. We hope that the conditions of use of the original model were better clarified in advance this time, since according to our sources the set will also be released with a license: this time with the permission of the Airbus aviation group! More precisely, it should be an Airbus H175 Rescue Helicopter. Set number: 42145 Designation: Airbus H175 Rescue Helicopter Number of parts: 2001 Release date: August 01, 2022 Availability: LEGO Recommended age: 11+ MSRP: $199.99 The model will be 2001 parts and will have an MSRP of $199.99. Visually, the helicopter is predominantly red and yellow. The model will be able to come up with motorized functions and we strongly assume that the Control+ battery box introduced in the Osprey will be installed here for the first time! Main and tail rotor can be turned, the main rotor also consists of 5 rotor blades, which can even be adjusted in inclination. The set also includes two winches, with one hook being able to be lowered from inside the helicopter via a device on the outside wall and the other probably on the belly. In addition, a sliding door should be installed on the side, although it is not yet clear whether it can also be opened by a motor. Go nuts.

42144 - Waste Handler 835 pieces Available August 2022 From promobricks.de Fans of the LEGO Pneumatic System can look forward to 42144 [Waste Handler]. The model consists of 835 pieces and will be launched with an MSRP of $139.99, making it the smallest of the LEGO Technic 2022 Summer sets. Although we don't yet know the exact product name, we do know that it will be a "waste handler", i.e. a special excavator with an extendable cab and gripper, which is mainly used in scrap yards and other waste disposal companies. Set number: 42144 Title: [Waste Handler] Number of parts: 835 Release date: August 01, 2022 Availability: LEGO Recommended age: ? MSRP: $139.99 The set contains several pneumatic cylinders, including two gray ones for the first time, which are operated by a hand pump and are responsible for the movements of the gripper arm. At its front end there is a gripper with 4 claws. As with the real prototype, the driver's cab can be adjusted in height. The vehicle runs on 4 wheels, of which at least the two in front can also be steered. In addition, 4 supports ensure more stability when playing. The set comes in a red and black color scheme. The possibilities for the model of the heavy lift helicopter are only: - Traditional helicopter with one main rotor and one tail rotor - Tandem rotor helicopter - Skeletal helicopter like the Erickson Skycrane I've just found out another wacky helicopter: Sikorsky CH-37 Mojave. It's the predecessor of the Skycrane and the Sikorsky CH-53. It has openable front doors like mandibles. That would make a cool model.

On second thought I don't think a backhoe is possible at that price point. In addition to driving and steering, a backhoe has at least 5 functions: - Front bucket lift - Front bucket tilt - Rear arm lift - Rear bucket tilt - Rear arm slew Those functions can't be achieved with one hub, and one hub is most likely at that price point.
