    Maybe Olav ran out of steam after designing the A model. According to Markus 42009 took almost a year to design. I'd expect 42082 to take that or even longer. Probably 1.5 years. Designer resources are needed for 42083 as well. So probably there wasn't anyone with free hands to develop a completely new B model. The monstrous 42055 A was designed by Markus, while the no-less-monstrous 2907-piece B model was designed by Aurelien. Maybe even Markus can't take on two monstrous models at the same time. So Olav gotta go for the easy way.

    If history is to repeat itself, next year we will have a less-than-stellar lineup. I'd venture a guess that next year flagship is another Uwe-ish, RC, with big wheels. Maybe 8x8 Terrain Adventure Truck with only drive and steer.

    42081 B is bloody awesome! Buying two sets for sure. This is how futuristic model sets should look like when done right. 42082 B feels cheated... It will definitely join the infamous list of semi-B models. 42080 B is weirder than expected. 42079 B looks nice. I still dunno whether to buy two sets or bricklink the parts. I wanna use the spare gear racks and holders from 42078 B. And the rear of 42079 A looks weird.

    They may look ugly but from the bird-eyes view they are right where they should be. I'd prefer a solution with flex axle to achieve the curve behind the hood rather than the current one.

    To me the only right angle that makes the front look alright is the bird eye view.
