  1. This thing has crab steering? Or do you mean 4 wheel steering?
  2. 42039 uses light green dude. 42080 uses normal dark green, same green with that in 42008. Hence the rearrangement of set numbers, see?
  3. It'd be an amazing feat for someone to motorize this. The chassis is almost bare. All functions are directly control. The battery box may lie in the counterweight, but then where would all 5 motors go?
  4. Oh wow. So Technic. Such accuracy. Much quality assurance.
  5. @Jim Would you review the B model as well?
  6. I haven't built it and still fall in love all the same
  7. It's funny that the part list doesn't look very garish or offputting but the final result...
  8. The issue here is that I intend to use the string from 42009 for 42079, but since it seems to be 1L shorter than the string in the official set, I don't know if it could substitute.
  9. I'd say none. Maybe there is no space for another drive train for the mini LA, or no space for another switch. Maybe TLG don't want the problems and complaints that come with the two-stage outriggers in 42009.
  10. Here's the real 42082: https://www.liebherr.com/en/nld/products/mobile-and-crawler-cranes/mobile-cranes/lrt-rough-terrain-cranes/onepager_lrt_krane.html On another note, I really do wonder where 4000 pieces go. Let's say the house and outrigger pads accounts for 400 pieces, that leaves us 3600. That is 1000 pieces more than 42009, yet this set has a simpler boom, simpler outriggers, shorter body, higher ground clearance. :/
  11. Those are not my pictures. I took them from the Facebook group that we're both members of
  12. Don't wanna dilute the 42079 thread so Imma continue here. I'm so so confused. My measurement says 29L. I recall putting two 16L stud beam from 42009 together, and there are 3 stud left. The string in 42079 is 30L. That part on bricklink is named Black String with End Studs 31L Overall Bricklink says the length varies from 30L to 31L. A buyer even sells one that is 29L. @___@
  13. Is this string the same one in 42009? A search on bricklink say yes, but the strings I've got from 42009 only measures 29L from stud to stud. @M_longer Can you check the length of the string in your set? Thanks!
  14. It's Lego man. A certain leap of imagination is required.
  15. @Ctan yes pictures of the gearbox in the instructions are just as awesome. Thanks a lot.
  16. @Ctan Can you take some pictures of the gearbox? Preferably those that show the inner gears
  17. But when the model hits a wall then both wheels on the same axle stall. How does the open diff help then?
  18. Still don't get how gear reduction serves as a preventative measure
  19. There's no open differential in 42030, 42065, 9398, 8275
  20. Anyone has any idea why motors for propulsion in RC sets (like XL motor in 42070, 42030) aren't connected through clutch gears but those for normal functions are (like XL motor in 42055)? When an RC model hits the wall and the user unknowingly keeps the remote on, shouldn't the motors stall and possibly overheat, just as when the normal functions reach their ends but the switch is still on?
  21. I found a video comparing 42081 and 42030. It uses stock images only and not actual sets, but it's still nice to see.
  22. Since we're talking about new molds, allow me to express my nostalgia about 2H 2016 sets which give us a supercar and a bunch of amazing new molds
