    @Jim I've just thought that, maybe they are not 4 arrows pointing away from the steering wheel. They can be two two-headed arrows along the steering wheel like those below to illustrate the movements of the hands gripping the wheel.

    The upcoming blue sports car evokes something I've always wondered: how does TLG ensure that Technic models doesn't infringe patented vehicle designs? The car looks really similar to a Chevrolet Camaro, but is released as a generic sports car. Does it infringe the Camaro design?

    @Jim /dusted by Anio On another note, The three overhead decks have three elastic return-to-defaulr car locking switches that go through rubber 2-stud liftarms on the passenger side.

    Oh well, the images seem to be final already. He'll change his mind when the pics with no confidential mark come out. I will post them here. No worries. Or maybe he'll call TLG delusional. That I tend to agree. The fact that the HOG steering is placed horizontally and accessible on one side only is not really convenient, that I also agree. Steering the model won't be intuitive. But it's a necessary compromise. It can't be routed on top because if so it will go through the cabin overhead deck and interfere with a car there. Routing it like the HOG in the Mack will leads to overly complex solution because the cabin tilts. Even the Mercedes Benz 42043 keeps the HOG steering separate from the cabin.

    Behind the cabin, on the driver side there are two 12z gear knobs. One for HOG steering, one for lowering the flatbed overhead deck. The driver side is shown on the back of the box. On the passenger side there are no knobs for these two functions. There is only one crank for tilting the cabin which is linked with lifting the cabin overhead deck. The passenger side is shown on the front side of the box. And the HOG steering knob does not move with the cabin. In other words, when the cabin tilts, the HOG steering is still in the same location. It is fixed to the chassis. And how do I know? The pictures are clear enough for the stickers on the panels to be legible. There is also a picture that shows the tilted cabin.

    Indeed the headlight design gives it an uncanny resemblance to a Camaro.

    I think that's the year the designer has worked for TLG. 23 years. As far as I know there only 4 people in the Technic designer team who have worked for a llong time at TLG: Markus, Uwe, Olav, and LKJ. This year LKJ did the 42096, while Uwe did the 42098. I think the designer is Olav, the creator for 42082.

    Crane boom sticker says SC 95-18. I don't think SC are name initials. There's only one Technic designer whose name starts with S, but he's Samuel Tacchi. 95-18 can be the year that designer has been working for at TLG. That's 23 years.

    The undercarriage is basically two planes held by 6 vertical dogbones. That gives us a 3-stud high gap in the middle, which can host several M or L motors.

    This is the first crane model whose image has the crane arm pointing away from the viewer instead of towards the viewer. Maybe the designer wanted to emphasize the view of the operator. The control pad is in the back and is shown toward the viewer.

    We are gentlemen, not savages. We shouldn't engage ourselves in the unlawful solicitation and propagation of illicit leaked pics, which is a heinous crime against Eurobricks and TLG. We should only enjoy candies instead.

    I'd really love to see someone do a RC on this thing. It would be even more awesome if they can sync all the 3 extension movements of all 4 outriggers together.

    I'm still considering whether to buy it or to bricklink and build it with my spare parts. The spare parts from 42082 B certainly makes up a certain percent of the required parts already.

    Because on the passenger side the sticker space is used to provide information for the crank that tilt the cabin. If the two knobs on the driver side are also present on that side, there will be so space for that information sticker.

    Yeah I think so. The main purposes of sprockets is to fix the shape and length of the track. If there are small sprockets, they will be placed at two ends of the track, and no need for the belt wheels. If there are medium sprockets, they will be visible, because the belt wheels are smaller than the medium sprockets. Another weird thing is that in the A model, the control pad is put in the rear side of the crane, which makes sense. But in the B model, the control pad is put on one of the two outriggers. When that outrigger folds inward, the control pad will fold inward as well. That doesn't make sense at all. I think my first mod for the B model will be to put the control pad in a more proper location.
