  2. Down at the edge of the beach in Nova Terreli is a warehouse owned by MAESTRO. Stored there are rolls of sail canvas and large spools of hemp rope, for MAESTRO ship repairs. The warehouse was built upon a raised platform in such a way as to leave a ledge at the back (seaward) wall. The man in charge of accounting for, and dispensing, the supplies therein is Quartermaster Bastian Touw. Two years ago the playwright Tragian Altidore befriended Bastian. This permitted Tragian to use the ledge as a stage, after clearing a bit of brush to set up seating. Tragian used the space as a practice venue to try out new prose for an audience of select, trusted friends. Recently Tragian has converted to the Triuri faith, and has now invited Dearji the Windsong to sing and help his friends to understand the glory of the Triuri. ". . . i mewn neh tahweil chawr." Dearji finished the Song of Resting in the old tongue. (From left to right) Tragian Altidore in his bardic finery. Arsbeth Westerlond, Tragian's new 'lady friend', is a little unsure why she's here. Riy Kul is doing his best to learn about the other cultures of this world. (Left to right again) Riy Kul has a token he will offer to Dearji after her performance. Tolan duBroise is sipping a little local wine as he lets Dearji's soothing voice wash over him. Quartermaster Bastian Touw thought this was going to be some sober, holy address, like those Order of the Faith ceremonies that he got drug to by other friends. He decides to reach for the bottle of fine uisge that Dearji has furnished him with. ----------------------------------------------------------- Just some shots of the plants and the build empty to show the seating design. ---------------------------------------------------------- These are the first Lego images taken with my new cell. Hopefully, with practice, I will have some more quality pics from now on.

  4. Great! Now I have the image of Squarefoot walking the skunk like a dog. I type this so that you all have it, too.
  5. Reliable set intel says Minnie will have a red dress. This is likely just a display setting for the CMF series. It does give us more proof that the Disney CMF series are intended to be the park versions of the characters. I could see a parade set possibly as a series D2C next year.
  6. You're right, but looking at the licensing price it isn't worth it to me. MAESTRO can license it if they wish, as I got permission to claim the 'warehouse' back wall as belonging to MAESTRO. This is about a story point for me, and not EGS.
  7. The Ideas route as a way of proving demand would require getting many similar ideas to pass the review threshold. This would have to happen consistently over time. That kind of concerted effort is difficult to maintain. The best we could hope for with Ideas is either the one-and-done sets, or a popular license that could generate enough crossover appeal that it merits expanding into a whole theme (Minecraft). To pass the review stage, these set proposals would have to not overlap any currently developing products. Lots of qualifying castle type set ideas being passed over on that basis, though, would be good news.

  9. I have the back wall of a warehouse, with a platform, being used as a small stage. Dearji the Windsong will be singing about the Triuri. The build measures 24x20, but I don't know what I should classify it as. Maybe artisan, as it is a small performance venue. I'll be taking pics tomorrow with my new cell.
  10. That was Morcia, from the often derided (wrongly IMHO) Knights Kingdom II. It was actually a great concept, but poorly executed. One done with more modern castle techniques might actually sell. It would have to come with a siege machine to use the opposing faction's parts. To make that kind of set in a reasonable price range, it would have to not be a full King's castle.
  11. In the Faction listings, the Dark Lightning is missing an 'n' from its name.
  12. Is that a Linnea Sinclair reference?

  14. Hey, I enjoyed Danny DeVito's portrayal of Penguin. The Friends penguin mold would work for an emperor penguin with only minor print changes. Size-wise, those would be ideal for some Batman Returns vigs. I will have to watch the movie again to be sure, but I believe there were some smaller penguins as well. Whatever mold we get, it won't be enough for me because I really want an Opus figure. I don't think TLG would license the comic strip Bloom County (or any of its other iterations), though.

  17. This is a lovely build, and thoroughly encapsulates the grandeur of the Corrington Court. From the angle of the shot, the studs appear to simply be faux crenelation detail. My issue is with the first block of text. The Queen's words in this are a run-on sentence. I could get three sentences out of the text, with some minor alterations. The word 'whereas' doesn't even work for the expression at all, and the third 'whereas' would best be replaced with 'presently'. I understand the impulse to make the language florid, but the grammar made it lacking. I know this seems to be a bit picky. I wouldn't normally point out grammar mistakes, given the many members that do not have English as a first language, but a Queen's speech should be properly polished.
