  1. A lot of the animal costumes seem to have face opening that fit the dimensions of that minifig head print. I'm guessing that by now there is a standard template that designers sculpt on top of for these things.
  2. An interesting story, and a good assortment of builds. I've created a couple of characters that your la Bureau de Preuve might have dossiers on. Maybe we could do some overlapping storylines in the future.
  3. There are a couple of English language TV shows, and at least one movie, that I know of based largely around the popular Chinese novel The Journey to the West: The Lost Empire (Hallmark miniseries), The New Legends of Monkey (Netflix series), and The Forbidden Kingdom (Jet Li/Jackie Chan movie).
  4. I think the Mummy Queen pairs best with the Amset-Ra figure from Pharaoh's Quest.
  5. Yeah, weak review. He missed a number of things I would have talked about, announced a recolor as a new part, and touted a recolor that already existed as if new. Come on, @WhiteFang!
  6. I was referring to parts specific coding to find the various colors of a specific part available. Bricklink doesn't always have the LEGO internal codes for parts identifying. I have to change his list too much, but I'll use it as a template. Mummy Black Knight/Fright Knight Monkey King Jungle Explorer/Johnny Thunder Intergalactic Bounty Hunter Dog Walker Shower Guy Flamingo Woman Fox Suit Girl Rugby Player Pizza Suit Guy Coder Girl Gamer Firefighter Rainbow Bear Mountain Biker This list is just an order of importance for my parts usage, not a judgement on the quality of the fig designs.
  7. I had a B&P order recently that included two of those firefighter torsos. The trick is learning how to use the codes to find the parts you want. The shipping costs are really reasonable. Some license specific parts aren't available, like wands and printed character fig parts.
  8. There are 18 "Leaf" sets listed. The first set number ends with a zero.
  9. Thanks, but I would remind the new member that we don't directly link Lego leaks on this site.
  10. If the Fire Chief were in a set she would be in the largest set of the Fire subtheme. The current flagship set for Fire is 60216 Downtown Fire Brigade, which will likely still be on shelves come September. That set could have swapped her for what looks liked a fire investigator. She wouldn't have side leg printing, though, because a simpler version of her leg printing already exists. It's on three in that set, and 44 figs in total beginning in 2013. She also likely wouldn't have arm printing, which none of the seven figs in that set have. Also that announcer horn wouldn't have printing, if it was in the set at all. She wouldn't be the detailed fig we are getting in series 19, which could compliment 6+ years worth of Fire minifigs, thus appealing to a larger range of buyers.
  11. I can see the Pizza Guy in an updated pizzeria set in City, after that Friends restaurant set has been retired.
  12. Try using The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen as a reference. Here's a look at Captain Nemo. (He's the one in royal purple.)
  13. There is the possibility that this could be a minidolls theme to replace Elves. I have postulated on the Future Pirates Speculation thread that the next Pirates theme might be minidolls.
  14. You just pretended that third series will be more expensive than first two. More likely just commentary on Disney as a company.
  15. Some of our local pizza places use parmesan. Now, back to the Lego. That Monkey King torso looks like it came from the Chima designers. Hopefully the Rugby Player doesn't have a number, or name, printing on the back. That way we can make a whole team.
  16. The Programmer has a jacket tied around her waist. The Mummy Queen seems to be intended to pair with Amset Ra from Pharaoh's Quest.
  17. The Kings Port Advertiser reported the capture of the Valiant Phoenix, but it failed to tell what happened to her crew. Only Amelia Rosen lived to tell the tale of the assault, but not for long. She had been found by a fisherman out of Lavalette, and was brought as quickly as possible to the local surgeon. He treated what wounds he could, but the surgeon knew Amelia was beyond his ability to save. All he could do is make her comfortable in her last hours, give her as much pain medication as he could, and move her to his private office so she could die in peace. The garrison commander of Fort Henri came to hear Amelia's testament of the attack. He listened as she told in painful detail how the pirate crews decimated her friends. The descriptions of the ships, and the tactics used, suggested the pirates were under the command of Zublius Von Wreck. Later a priest of Hades came with an offer to help ease her way into the next world. Amelia declined, and he left without rancor. Amelia began to pray, "Triuri, iosal . . ." Then she was gone.
  18. The back of the character sheet shows us what is under the towel. White hips with yellow legs, white boxers-like printing on the front.
  19. Societal gender expectations vary from place to place, and era to era, as well as the issue of gender representation. I don't wish to divert into a major debate on these issues. That is better left to another forum. The minifigure design does not lend itself well to gender differentiation. For this reason we should reserve commentary on gender disparity until LEGO reveals their gender intent on the more ambiguous characters. That does not mean you have to follow the gender intent once the figure is yours. This site would be very boring if we stuck within the bounds of LEGO's set design and themes, so it seems only fitting that we free ourselves from their minifigure gender intent as well. I have uses for all of these figs, but none of them include keeping them as is. For that reason I make no complaints on theme representation.
  20. A good look at the "Florida retiree" has shown up online. She has tan eyebrows, and her glasses are situated as if she is looking over them.
  21. Which is why I avoid these back-and-forth arguments about these kinds of subjects. I state my opinions, and only respond to contrary responses if their arguments convince me of their point.
