LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
gedren_y replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Maybe they're going the same route as Jet Li's version in Forbidden Kingdom, with the Monkey King power trapped inside. -
For a more minifig scale pipe they could recolor this piece.

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

The two "Thunder Raider" sets probably use the same basic play function, just skinned as hero and villain. That delivery motorcycle set is likely a Juniors set. A theme that seems designed for the younger side of the 7-12 market. -
That might not be so. Several LOTR parts have been used in non-licensed sets. The One Ring itself is everywhere. It may be that the molds themselves weren't designed for long-term use. Also overmolding is more expensive, so a significant budget (Big Bang or license) would be required for a theme to use that.

No, just that Itaria usually runs the guessing games for the CMFs.

@Itaria No Shintaku shall we?

Are we sure that isn't a separate piece. Its shape seems like it could be the Nexo Knights Macy ponytail piece.

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

The an image of the HP centaur body and torso is on IG. The image shows at least two rows of them. -
The use of the Celtic triquetra seems out of place to me.

Someone got an image of a pair of the new 6x6 bases in dark red, showing top and bottom. I see such potential for those pieces. Wait! Is the support structure under the line of 'floating' bricks a new piece?

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

Another fig image has surfaced on IG. The same helmet as before (with magenta horns), but with an obviously female torso print and female looking eyes on a white head. The torso appears to be olive green, with white arms, and possibly dark bley hands. This seems to be someone taking a quick pic with their cell while handling the fig. -
My only issue is with Mario being in the $60 set. I actually want him, not for the gameplay, but just for the fun of what I could do with him. I have some parts from a Duplo ice cream set that would make for some silly Mushroom Kingdom scenes.

So, what are Leaf, IP-2 and Zebra?

Now the theme makes sense. The images being used are all copyrighted, so a Mosaics thread belongs in the Licensed forum. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
gedren_y replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Series 20 got a full reveal a NYTF. This bag leaking probably just means this series wasn't delayed by the push back of the next Fantastic Beasts movie release date. -
Actually the power switch and Bluetooth button are built into the red shirt. The overalls do appear to removable, and for this to be so it would just need to have an opening in the bottom for the scanner. The $10 sets do appear to be the powered up costume changes; fire, flying raccoon, etc. Hopefully Mario will be in the $30 set, as the build with the goomba does appear to only be about 100 pieces. That seems like it would be a more reasonable starter set. I could see Bowser in the $60 set.

Don't bother arguing with the negativity. The pattern of one particular poster is reminiscent of the unpleasant aspects of other kinds of social networking sites (FB/Twitter). Looking again, Mario might not be the only part with significant tech. There is supposed to be a spinning action that Mario activates. That would require more than a special sticker.

All this discussion prompted me to watch the live action movie again. *sings* ". . . Open the door, get on the floor. Everybody walk the dinosaur . . ."
-
I went back to the video, specifically the rear view of Mario. It looks like you might be able to change his overalls. The head and red shirt seem to be one piece. This could mean fire, flying raccoon, and caped versions could be in those $10 sets. Maybe frog as well if they can make the pieces to get that look. The strobing effect of invincible might be diffcult to pull off. I gave the square shape a bit of thought, and I now believe it makes perfect sense. There is a level of nostalgia around the classic NES aesthetic. I own a shirt with a picture of the original NES controller and the words 'KEEP IT CLASSIC'. Mario's look will appeal to some longtime gamers.

The designer says the video shows the head coming off, but it doesn't. I think what was meant was the hat.

So, what are Leaf, IP-2 and Zebra?
gedren_y replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The name and logo was on a trademark application filed by LEGO. We've already seen a minifig and a bigfig. -
Some good reasoning, but I think Mario would be in the $30 set 71366. Its part count is significantly lower than the equally priced 71365 & 71367. Additionally your count is off: 71360-71373 is 14 set numbers that we have information on. Early set numbers information for Leaf also listed 71374-71377.
-
Remember we don't have price points and/or parts count for four of the eighteen set numbers originally leaked. I wonder if Mario is actually in one of the $30 sets, 71366, given the technology in Mario himself and the smaller parts count relative to the others listed.
-
There are a number of new parts. I'm a parts buyer mostly, so I'm okay with the direction this has gone. Minifigs of some of the characters wouldn't actually be all that usable for me, since many of the prints would be too character specific. Those bases also share enough of an aesthetic with classic Sonic that I could see something being done there. Didn't Nintendo acquire Sega some time ago?
-
The build in the video looks like it might be several sets put together.

Leaf is Super Mario. Monkey Kid is something else altogether.
