  1. That 'poop' looks more like swirled soft-serve ice cream than the existing piece currently being used in sets.
  2. Those are themes that get paired with major media; TV show, video game, clothing line, and other human scale products. Ninjago being the most successful of the in-house media properties.
  3. I read a lot of wishful thinking. For a theme coming close to Europa 1700 to be produced by LEGO today, it would need the 'big bang' treatment. I don't see that happening in the current environment. I still think the next Pirates type theme will be minidolls, thanks to the retiring of Elves, the newest Friends sets, and the preexisting story from the Friends TV show. It might not be the very next minidolls theme, but I can see it slotted in there sometime in the future.
  4. Thanks for the nod. It's nice to see that some of the Oleon citizenry (outside my own characters) recognize the Crahaish neh Triuri as a force for good in the Brick Seas.
  5. All this discussion about when sets came out completely ignores the common practice of passing toys down to younger children. For some kids, their first experience with LEGO was not with new sets.
  6. There are a number of Superman side characters that wouldn't make it into sets: Jimmy Olsen, Lana Lang, and Perry White just to name a few.
  7. There are a few of my fellow NHS Panthers that would be happy to have that.
  8. This is just speculation, but I still think that the next Pirates type theme will be minidolls, based on the current direction of the Friends theme. I see it being a theme to take the place of Elves.
  9. I thought that was just SW and Marvel. I didn't think Hasbro had exclusive rights to DC.
  10. @Itaria No Shintaku, I believe your post was intended for the other thread.
  11. I have uses for parts of every one of these figs. I'll give my uses in list order. 1) I'm a big fan of the 90's cult classic Hackers, and plan to do a sci-fi cyberpunk riff. The head would be great for a swashbuckler in BOBS. 2) I need more bare chests for diversity. Same with the head. That towel is easily just another skirt. The shower cap is a toadstool top. 3) The rust lines on the shield means I'll only get one of these, but that's all I'll need. The head and sword will go towards my sci-fi cyberpunk build. That plume is the water piece I've been waiting to see. The rest of him will end up in my fantasy figs assortment. 4) I can see several uses for all of him. Planet of the Apes riff! Fancy warrior garb. I may want a few of these. 5) Head and hair will be welcome in my BOBS fig parts. That torso goes to the sci-fi cyberpunk build. Same with that 1x1x1 brick. 6) I'd part out the headdress to one of by BOBS figs, but then she can go with my other mummies. 7) Easily the most usable for BOBS, so there might be some competition for use. 8) I have a limited amount of firefighters, so the torso is welcome. I have an idea for the legs. I can always use more female heads. 9) Dogs and female head. Nuff said. 10) The pizza part is going on a robot head for the sci-fi cyberpunk build. Those pants with the Argyle print will have a home on a BOBS fig. 11) Pure sci-fi army builder. 12) Another female head, gotta have it. I know just how to use that hair. Lime green hands, gimmie! This Floridian needs that flamingo! 13) Moderate part out. I might get two if the fig does have dual face. 14) I have a use for those legs. The black hands, bag, and chicken are always useful. The headgear can be used for a native skinwalker ritual. 15) That bear head on a robot body. A very evil addition to a sci-fi build. 16) A good, tough female face. The body goes to that sci-fi cyberpunk build. The bike might be the most useless thing for me.
  12. Canada has a Thanksgiving, too. It's just celebrated on a different date.
  13. Probably the hip/tail piece. The Monkey King traditionally has a tail.
  14. News for your Space wants. The CMF series 19 sheet has leaked. There's a scifi fig, possibly a bounty hunter, that looks like he/she has the three triangles Blacktron insignia.
  15. From the earlier speculation about the bear, could this series be tributes to longtime LEGO employees? Does anyone know who the principle designers were on Fright Knights? Is it likely that the new 'Basil' might have come from an early concept that got scrapped because it wasn't technically possible then?
  16. Series 20 speculation: What if LEGO did something to return to the original concept of the CMF, collecting them all? An incentive to get them all could be something included with each figure, so that if you collect all 16 the parts builds something. Each piece would have to have something unique about it, a special print or color that isn't available elsewhere. Maybe the bases have individual prints, or are new molds themselves. There are a number of ways to do this.
  17. I think Zebra might be some kind of convention exclusives, or site free with purchase item.
  18. It could easily be a zippered version of the jacket @K_Tiger posted. The hands not being yellow, and the lack of a school logo, make me think this won't be for "jock" figure. It does suggest some kind of sports jacket, but the very general nature of the design makes it hard to pinpoint. Maybe it's the coach.
  19. It's time I get to making one of these. The Triuri faithful have, so far, not been well represented. I've made a Bricks and Pieces order recently that included fig parts I intended for specific new characters. This is probably how I will introduce them.
  20. [Big rant about Castle sets.] When it comes to similar themes being out at the same time I think there are other considerations. You also have to look at parts production, particularly when you look at the LOTR and Castle themes. They lived together on the shelves because of market share intent, movie ratings made the LOTR sets marketed largely above the core Lego age range, so a theme made for younger consumers was warranted. Looking at the actual bricks they are made up of you can see that the sets didn't overlap much, but where they did it was usually the same color bricks. This meant that production facilities could be producing parts for both themes without having to change the color of ABS being injected into the molds. Harry Potter, on the other hand, is directed at Lego's core consumers. The construction also overlaps more fully with Castle design, but in colors that wouldn't easily be transferable. Our only hope for a Castle type theme to live alongside Harry Potter would be if Lego were to acquire the license for a property that is aimed at a slightly older consumer group. The Wheel of Time would be the most obvious, but if that had happened promotional information would have been out by now. [End of rant.] As to the current idea of Fabuland resurrection, I doubt those will see actual figs. The inclusion in the movies as something for the adults purchasing the tickets is one thing, but for the core Lego consumers they wouldn't be much of a draw. For a toy company to effectively capitalize on nostalgia, the product would have to be of high dollar value. Costumed characters, on the other hand, are something that do appeal to kids, so expect to see them. Figs with animals have seen a rise, even in sets, so we could see more than one in this series. The parrot is currently in a full production line (Xtra), so I wouldn't expect to see it here any time soon. Medium legs are one thing I think we can be hopeful for. Just be mindful that you don't set your expectations too high.
