Kings Port Advertiser and Ship List (Vol 5, Issue 1)
gedren_y replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
So the Island Rose made it to Jamestown, and the Consort's Duty is still in Freeport. That makes more sense given the DB total. I'll work that into my story. Thank you for your prompt replies, @Bregir and @Capt Wolf. -

Quite probable given the symbol on his chest resembles the Chinese letter on the left in your parentheses. In an earlier post I mentioned Lost Empire. In that adaptation the main villains' costuming suggests some access to technology. There are ways to make such injections of technology work. -

@Capt Wolf What happened to the Island Rose? I was certain I convoyed her with the Consort's Duty. -
[COR - FB - Royal Property] Quinnsville Cathedral
gedren_y replied to LM71Blackbird's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A small primer on how refer to the Triuri faith, and it's followers. The religious institution is the Crahaish neh Triuri (Ministry of the Triple Goddess). The culture the faith comes from is the Truachesh neh Triuri (People of the Triple Goddess), most often just shortened to Truachesh. People who believe in the Triuri from outside the Truachesh culture are referred to as Triuri Faithful. This build is a wonderfully clean design. It manages to be ornate without being too cluttered.- 23 replies

Rushy CMF Series 20 Guessing Game
gedren_y replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Recycled most of my old list. 1) Masked Hero: a classically dressed character with a wide brimmed hat, masked face, cape, and weapon. Inspirations can be drawn from The Scarlet Pimpernel, Zorro, The Shadow, or The Phantom Of The Opera.2) Master Cartographer: Think Marco Polo, with chrome gold astrolabe, and new nautical map printed 2x3 tile.3) Terracotta Warrior: New Chinese armor bodywear, top knot hair piece, and new polearm weapon, all in dark orange.4) One-Eyed, One-Horned, Flying Purple People-Eater, AKA Musical Monster: shaggy printing (much like the Yeti) on purple body, purple bat wings neck gear (printing?), lavender head with single eyeball and mouth print, shaggy purple hair mold with 3.5 mm pin hole, pearl gold unicorn horn, and pearl gold trumpet.5) Civil Engineer (female?): white construction hat/hair, white dress shirt torso print, black leg assembly with detailed printing (keys/badge?), hip wear tool belt, orange 2x2 triangular tile with carpenter's square printing.6) Pulp Hero: bubble helmet (2 piece existing mold), coifed bright yellow hair (Superman hair reuse), ray gun (chromed?), bright red Flash Gordon style body printing.7) Wastelands Adventurer: bare torso with chains 'suspenders' print, brown leg assembly with chain mail skirting print, shooting crossbow with ammo, and brown top hat.8) Gumshoe: classic trench coat (print) and fedora look, revolver type pistol (overmold?), and white 1x2 tile with notepad printing.9) Vegas Stage Illusionist: flamboyant costume using sparkly prints and printed cloth, and a white tiger cub.10) Anime Fangirl: sailor schoolgirl type printing (pink & purple on white), pink plastic skirt with purple plaid printing, stockings leg printing, pink and purple pigtails with pinhole, trans-pink crown pin attachment, and trans-pink scepter.11) Dark Elf: R. A. Salvatore's Drizzt Do'Urden as a template, with two of the Ninjago scimitar type swords, and seated panther statue (tan/brick yellow) in microfigure or game piece size.12) Mounties: classic Canadian Mounted Police, with cuffs, and 2x2 tile with a bear face wanted poster printing (think Yogi Bear).13) Parade Drummer: green and gold fancy printing, shako in green with gold printing, white wand set as drumsticks, and waist wear drum kit.14) Big Ben Costume: just like it sounds, with reversible head (clock face/fig face)15) Robot Helper: leg assembly with two robotic legs (Monster Fighters) in pearl silver, red roller skates, tutu in red, pearl silver torso with maid uniform style printing and red hands, and a horizontal cylindrical head with antennae and feminine face print. Yes, this is a total riff on Rosie from The Jetsons. -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
gedren_y replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Actually I think we could get quite a lot of whimsy. Hallmark did a Monkey King story called Lost Empire (IMDb simply lists it as Monkey King) that has the characters using oversized pole weapons, wonderfully outlandish costumes, and a number of locations that use a good deal of color. There are ways to depict the places in Journey To The West with a similar color palette as Elves. The logo that has been shared suggests a very cartoonish look to the theme. -
He did, thirteen pages ago. Let's go over the confirmed list: Pirate Bay Ideas set, Creator 3-in-1 pirate ship, Ninjago ship easily modified, skull dungeon Ninjago set, and ghost pirates in Hidden Side. That's all without a declared theme. As Monkey Kid (LEAF) is expected to be based on Journey To The West, we could see something there too.

Remember that this theme was rumored to have an augmented reality component, and if so, location based sets would be more appropriate. The fact that we only have one leaked bigfig and a logo from a trademark application means that LEGO has committed resources to keeping this under wraps. LEGO already makes a cloud piece. Easy enough to envision that. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
gedren_y replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think what was meant is what little he got right were things you were already reporting. -
Some of his claims seemed to be corroborated by others, but that may just have been him parroting someone with real knowledge as if it was his own intel. After that it was probably just guesswork, and some total BS to make it seem legit. When he came against someone that could call him on the bogus claims with some actual knowledge about TLG, instead of being confidently smug, he became overly defensive. The screen name he chose, the family name of the main villains in Dune, should have been a red flag.

LEGO didn't pick up Trolls until the second feature movie, and there's a cartoon series on Netflix. As for Mario, I thought K'NEX had the entire Nintendo license.

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
gedren_y replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Ninjago, with it's heavy reliance on vehicles, is basically LEGO's version of Power Rangers. This (if it is based on Journey To The West) seems more like it will be a wandering adventure tale, which should translate into lots of location sets. Those would easily sell side by side. Kids could conceivably use them together. -
Something to consider with brick built sails, they could easily be made from panels, including these. Such sails could easily have decals, and given the nature of Creator, possibly multiple options.

I see lots of potential. I use a number of pinks and purples in my BOBS builds.

Just got around to seeing the bigfig. The coloring is a bit like Trolls, but it uses a standard mnifig head. He looks like cross of a couple Street Fighter characters. Could this be a fig combat game using the Pokémon Go format, but with figs? -
Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II
gedren_y replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A letter has been drafted, and two copies produced. One has been delivered to the offices of Rear Admiral Fletcher, and the other to the Government House in King's Harbour. To the Honorable Sirs Rear Admiral Fletcher, & Colonial Governor, Cpt. Johnathan Cooke I write to you to formally request the return of the Glittering Wind, illegally seized by the pirate ship Aqua Fina, to the Crahaish neh Triuri Fleet. The Crahaish appreciates Corrington's efforts to rid the Brick Seas of piracy, therefore in recognition of your fleet's courage (most notably the HMS Bull Shark) we can offer as recompense the sum of 500 DBs. If this arrangement is agreeable, please contact me at your earliest convenience. Respectfully, Commodore Hammish Grei, Crahaish neh Triuri Fleet (Attn. @Bregir) -

I recently saw a pic of a sea slug that looks remarkably like that lotus image. -
Unusual prints, and parts in colors not available for sale, do happen in displays made by LEGO employees. These usually come from ideas that were, for one reason or another, not put into production. Remember that there is an image that has been widely circulated of a fully developed LEGO bison (buffalo) that never made it into production.

Such a well deserved honor. He should give those bitter noblemen a little consideration, though. Most are savvy politicians, skilled at character assassination. Rumors of association with "heathen" priestesses, for instance. Such machinations could make Tristan the target of religious fanatics. (Lots of potential for dramatic story there.)

All the builds in the video look like mods of older sets. Some of the buildings look like 10193 Medieval Market Village.

I have a number of Brickforge items, including the tan cow and a couple different colored lambs. The horns designed for the Brickforge cow are more useful than those made for the LEGO cow. You can even buy udders for your Brickforge cows. I use the Brickforge square bottles when I'm representing uisge in my builds. I've gotten creative with quite a number of their items.
