  1. Tarn was pleased to see his Ranger friend, and after thanking him for Sir Glorfindel's items, insisted that he and Elgar go back into the hall so that they could share a celebratory drink and toast the Knight with whom they had quested together.
  2. Also just to give people a heads up that I will be hosting another Quest soon. Signups are imminent and it will be mainly for lower-level players.
  3. I agree that it would be better for everyone if the team win rather than just survivors. There were a few Townies (and I do include myself in this) that were very quiet overall and have survived because we weren't seen as a threat. Survival is not the aim of the game.
  4. Hi there UsernameMDM, thank you for hosting us. I know firsthand how time consuming hosting a Quest can be but felt that we would really have had a better flow to the whole thing if you had been able to post more often to move things along quicker. It really did seem to have a slow pace and that did impact how often people posted. The earlier enemies were definitely harder than the later ones, which was strange. Whether that was due to initial errors in your enemy levels or player feedback that the spider in particular was too hard, I don't know. It did seem to be a slight anticlimax with just the one Gobbler faced. Like Tanma and others, I thought that there were more to encounter, perhaps it would have worked that this was a baby one and there was an angry momma around too? I liked your sets and pics, and your text descriptions were good. Thanks again and I hope these points are taken as constructive criticism.
  5. All looks OK except for my hollow bladed Mead, but that doesn't matter now. Thanks UsernameMDM and the other Questers!
  6. Tarn smiled at his companions warmly. Their quest had been successful, and he was going to hopefully see Ellaria soon. "Well done everyone, this was a team effort and we did everything asked of us." He was about to continue when Dak collapsed. He ran across to the young Rogue and cradled his unconscious form. "Dak, Dak, can you hear me?"
  7. Thanks for hosting, badboy, and thanks to all that played. I am pleased that the Town won, which appears to mainly be because of a core of faithful Townies. I wasn't as active as I should have been, but struggled at the start with the sheer number of people and the Japanese names. Later I managed to at least have some PMs with def, but as vanilla found it hard to trust anyone else and could not bring anything to the table that would have gotten me access to the machinations of the inner circle of Town power roles. I agree that the game was unbalanced for the Secret Agents and I think most people expected there to be another one left.
  8. "The Elder Councillor has been most gracious with his reward. And thank you for seeking out Heroica, Steward. I am pleased we were able to help." Tarn says. Tarn will split the reward into 6 equal shares, and request a Holy Bomb as well.
  9. Tarn listened as the small Rogue, Dek'ra, attempted to let the Dwarf know what had transpired down the mine. He then stood and waited as Knifk revealed a surprising talent at Dwarvish language. Tarn bowed low before the Elder Councillor and deposited onto the desk the crystalline shards that he had collected from the Crystal Gobbler, oblivious to the mess he had made. "I believe my esteemed colleagues have told you all we can, but if there is anything else you need to know, Elder Councillor, plaese ask."
  10. I think we might just be better off without the help of the claimed vigilante who has admitted that they killed two loyal Yakuza in their two vig attempts so far. But it is entertaining to see what Akira will come up with next.
  11. I got the same PM as you guys, and also a very similar second one, but with an added sentence saying I should support him as we are "mystery buddies". Whilst I do admire the sentiment and the effort, I would put that into the very 'metagame' category he's using as evidence against Norio in the PM! Can't have it both ways Akira, sorry!
  12. Sorry Norio, just thinking out loud. No offense is meant by "gut feeling", you are obviously experienced enough to be able to read people and situations in times like these, it is perhaps a poor choice of words on my part. I didn't actually vote for Emi yesterday but I can see why people did. I'm still not convinced about Lizzy, which is where my vote went yesterday, but it really does seem as though Akira is squirming a lot now under pressure, with inconsistencies in his story as well as the fact that he did not get his action in, along with his ridiculous last post voting for Shiro, so I will Vote: Akira (Bob)
  13. Tarn sees the pile of gold glinting by the torchlight and smiles. He is not an avarious man by nature, but it does look very good. He ponders the best way to distribute it fairly It's actually: Knifk 18 gold, Venom, Bedroll, Garnet (128 total) Tarn 18 gold, Ruined Map, Pickaxe, Phoenix Essence (88 total) Dak 18 gold, Mead, Potion (38 total) Aberforth: Ruby, 23 gold, Potion, Venom (Scroll of Sleep) (133 total, not including Scroll) Guts 18 gold, Venom, Potion (28 total) Dek'ra 20 gold, Gold ore(80 gold) (100 total) "Based on what we have found so far, and mindful that we each have equal share of the total loot, I recommend Guts takes 158, Dak takes 148, I take 97, De'kra takes 86, Knifk takes 58 and Aberforth takes 53. That way we are all roughly at 186 gold's worth." Sorry QM! I've calculated this all on a spreadsheet, how sad is that
  14. Fair enough. I just remember that Nerwen could speak it and wondered if she'd been giving Guts lessons
  15. I really can't believe that after all that, Emi was Yakuza. I know she was paranoid but that ended up costing her because no-one could vouch for her. As Norio has outed himself as the investigator, it's interesting that he was going on "gut feeling" by going for her and not seeing if she could be confirmed. Which brings us on to today, and Akira. I think the most telling thing here is the fact that they have a power role but didn't make it count. Very sloppy for a Yakuza. Is that worth a vote to lynch? Norio's copybook has been blotted a little bit, but nobody's perfect with their "scum-dar".
  16. Good to hear that the crazy inventor is still around! It's really nice when we see recurring characters. As someone who has been QMed by WBD on his last Quest, I have to say that he is a great QM who features memorable characters and plenty of puzzles to go with the battles. I would love Tarn to go but he will probably still be in Silverpick Mine, and he won't have reached level 15 either.
  17. OOC: Guts can speak Orcish? Tarn waited as Knifk and the Goblin spoke in their own tongue. At least the goblin's body movements indicated that he was less defensive now.
  18. Sandy, really like the vignette with Ellaria and the baby. Great work! Be really interesting to see where you take it story-wise.
  19. Tarn splits out the gold, giving each member 8 except De'kra who gets 10. Then he looks at the items, and gives the Phoenix Essence to Guts and the Potion to Dak. This done, he looks at the party. "Where next, do you think?"
  20. Indeed Akira, it is a shame that the family are so quiet. We must be very close to ridding ourselves of any Mutineer or Secret Agent influence, and it is disheartening to see so little discussion that could help us identify the remainder of our foes. I have to admit, I do admire Emi's tenacity. She will just not give up on Lizzy, and has enough courage in her convictions to cast the first vote. Do we think that a Scum would do that? I note that Norio does not seem so keen to go after Emi today. I think on balance Emi has done more during the day to help the Yakuza cause than a few of the more silent people, myself included. This is why, with only Norio's (admittedly usually top-notch) instinct to go on, I am loathe to vote for her. Lizzy, on the other hand, I think is vulnerable today. It will be interesting to see how the voting stacks up. I have given my reasons before on why I think voting for Lizzy is worthwhile, so for now, with plenty of time to recast votes if needed, I will: Vote: Lizzy (Capt. Redblade) I am also going to put an idea out for discussion, but first, does everyone feel we are really as close to winning with ony 2 more Scum left, as suggested by Norio? There are 13 of us still standing. With at least 2 factions, plus any neutrals, which there perhaps is only be one or two(?) remaining, are we really flush with Yakuza at this time?
  21. Tarn had taken no pleasure in striking the last blow that felled the Crazed Propector. He knew deep down that the Gobbler and the Prospector had both attacked the party rather than the other way around, but he would also have liked a better chance to talk through any issues rather than just resolve them with such showings of absolute force. That wasn't how he had been raised by Rystael, he was not simply a blunt instrument of destruction. Silent and brooding, he let the others search the body and the surroundings, but decided he would take the sturdy pickaxe for himself.
  22. "Well he definitely thinks you called him a dwarf!" shouts Tarn to Knifk as he readies Kyrferath once again. Secretly he liked the sound of "scarf wearin' mommas boy" as an insult to Guts, but managed to keep a big smile from his face. Tarn will attack the Crazed Prospector from the front row. Battle order: Tarn Knifk Guts Dak De'kra Aberforth
  23. I know I will still be on the suspect list, which is fine because a lot of you are still on mine. Like Hanako said herself yesterday, it's hard to be "usefully" active when you are not privy to any inside info. However the least I can do is speculate on this new red ninja. I do believe Cheiko was the Mutineer killer, so I'm not sure who this one is. Have the Secret Agent's got a one-shot kill? Saburo hasn't been very proactive for the Town, so to be honest it wouldn't surprise me if it was a Yakuza hit in some way.
  24. Whilst waiting for the prospector to respond to Knifk's diplomatic overture, Tarn whispers to Guts. "That's definitely not a dwarf. May the Gods smile upon us and hope that this miner will not take offence at improper words, kindly put."
  25. Flipz' enthusiasm and dedication to Mafia are clearly evident, and not at all in question. The issue was simply one of fairness.
