  1. Apologies, Dwellington. That was me thinking with my Barbarian head on. Of course it doesn't matter which row a Mage is on during a round. The further back the better! Tarn growled a long series of Titaanian curse words that his mentor Rystael would have been very shocked to hear. He could not believe how much his battle prowess had deserted him. He thought he was improving his tactics and skills, but each time he tried something new he was unrewarded. What was worse was the impact it was having on the rest of the party. If he couldn't hit anything, then he couldn't protect them. He looked around at the rest of the party, could almost see the spiders' deadly poison coursing through everyone's veins. Swindle looked dead on his feet, and the others almost as bad. "I think Mr Swindle should use the Scroll of Sleep on the spider, and the rest of us use potions, or we risk losing several of the party next round."
  2. Team Bait are the worst bunch of pirates Questers who ever lived!
  3. Definitely join in Scorpiox! No point dweling on the past, everyone's moved on
  4. The Boomingham/Cronk roleplaying is just excellent. Great stuff you two!
  5. Tarn looks over at the terrified Mage. "Mr Swindle, face your fears and attack from as close as you can get. Knifk will protect you from harm!"
  6. It is quite literal!

  7. Well we all took on Crozen Portiar in Quest#5 when Tarn was that sort of level, but she was an end-of-Quest boss. This one is probably not even a halfway boss.
  8. I just think that an enemy that can do 10 damage with a roll of hit in the front row, as well as including a special which does 3 damage to everyone (regardless of row and SP) as well as poisoning everyone, is just a smidge overpowered at a base 100 health. But bring it on, Tarn does not back away from a challenge.
  9. I agree with Scuba in that the Giant Spider's Special is poorly worded, with an ambiguous meaning (and possibly a tad overpowered on a level 10 enemy with 100 health), but Username MDM is the QM in this instance and we (the party) have to go with what he says. Scuba, I don't want to lose you from the Quest as you are a lot of fun to have around IC and OOC. Please reconsider your choice. I'm sure we can win this battle and get you digging again.
  10. Thanks Masked, it's been a lot of fun so far!

  11. Thanks K-nut! At 2 posts a day I think it was a reasonable time to get it!

  12. OOC: Scuba, the initial Spider post hasn't been edited, I guess we all just missed that particular part of the special. You are unlucky to take so much damage in one round, but you can't fight again. Tanma, I wouldn't bother with the Venom - coating your blade with it will cost you a turn for an extra 1 health lost on the spider, and right now we need to be doing as much damage as possible. Tarn looked around in shock. Once the bright flare of the bombs had cleared out the Spiderlings, the giant spider had rampaged through the party, KOing Guts and dropping everyone's health. At least they knew that Knifk's trusty shield would protect them from further harm this next attack. OOC: I suggest everyone attacks from the front row as we are protected. We need to end this quickly. If it all goes wrong we can send it to sleep next turn. Tarn used his Smelling Salts (allowing him to have two turns per round). He then used his Mead (doubling his power), which he kept in the hollow blade of his axe (meaning it did not take a turn to use the item). He then aimed a huge blow at the Giant Spider from the front row. Battle Order: Tarn - smelling salts/mead Tarn - attack Giant Spider from front row Knifk De'kra Dak Aberforth
  13. OOC: Even if you send it to sleep, we are still poisoned. QM, as we got hit with 2 specials, do we all lose 2 health a turn? If that's the case, I will use some items to hopefully end the battle soonest
  14. WBD, you showed a lot of class handling that missive from Durken. Well done. For myself, I think RPGer's letter was a horrible thing to do and shows that despite his insistence that he's followed Heroica from the beginning, he just doesn't get it.
  15. OOC: as Party Leader I am certainly happy with those actions being taken against the Giant Spider
  16. JimB, just wanted to say that I enjoyed reading your Quest. I thought it was well put together in terms of scenery and story and I really liked your representation of the Phoenix. It was good to see you offer a choice to the Questers at the end. I always think that allows people to really think about the overall consequences of their actions. I have a sneaking suspicion that we may yet see Atticus again.
  17. If only RPGer had had the foresight to sign up as a female character. Leo would have given him swords, gold, anything!
  18. Potions can only restore up to 10 health. They cannot restore more health than you started with, so if your health totals 7, it can't go higher. You can only use one potion per turn.
  19. "Everyone pile on the giant spider, I'll sort the spiderlings out with my bomb!" Tarn will throw his Lightning Bomb. Battle order: Tarn Knifk De'kra Guts Dak Aberforth

  21. Those bios are just adorable!
  22. Dear Guts, Thank you for inquiring about myself and Haroka. We spent a lovely time in Miranda. All that scheming and being trapped for decades meant we thought that the sea and sun was very refreshing. I even got sunburn! Sorry you were bored, but then I guess you had more mines to explore and holes to dig. Our plans are going swimmingly and soon, cometh the fifth turning of the yellow moon of Goldfire there will be a new reckoning for all of Olegaia. If the hero business doesn't work out for you due to your curmugeonly ways, we will definitely keep you in mind when the apocalypse comes. With fondest regards and highest expectations, Sorona
  23. This is a superb idea! Let's hope we see some creative stuff, like Scubacarrots' one
  24. This is my 1000th post, and I wanted to put it here in the Heroica discussion to say how much I enjoy playing along with everyone, and reading these great Quests and seeing such lovely scenes. This has been a fantastic experience. Thank you.
  25. As Party Leader, Tarn leads his felow adventurers straight along the tunnel.
