Heroica RPG - Quest #50: 108 Stars of Destiny
Rumble Strike replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Annoyed at slipping at a crucial moment, and aghast at seeing Tesni fall, Tarn grips his sword tighter and repeats his attack. -

Tarn's reflective mood was ended by a big grin. "I can't help being a lover and a fighter, Hybros!" -

Tarn looks across to see the blue-clad bandit in trouble, and is full of regret for a moment. Who were they to quell such beauty? Who were they to attack the 108 Stars? But Jun seemed honourable and decent, and the Ji Pei elders too. Head teeming with thoughts, Tarn once again attacked the Faceless from the back row using Lion's Heart. -

Hearing her mutterings, Tarn grins and sneaks a quick look at Tesni's well toned rear before attacking Faceless again from the back row using Lion's Heart. -

Tarn was immediately smitten with the pale lady in blue. "Fair lady, your icy beauty would draw the warmth from the heart of any man..." he said, unmoving. Realising that several seconds had gone by with him simply staring at her, he looked down stupidly at Lion's Heart, and lurched at the nearest target (Faceless), from the back row, to cover himself. -

Tarn sips tea as he watches Cinna lark about onstage. It was a brief respite from the dangers they all faced, and a welcome one, but all too soon he followed the others further into the pagoda. -
I have to admit, the ones I like the look of best are the racing car and the monster truck transporters. Plenty of action with those without needing the emergency services.

Harriet Slutter Mafia sign-ups
Rumble Strike replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Your past Mafia experience I passed in your very own Fabuland Housewives Mafia School, and later played in Gotham City Mafia, Yakuza Mafia and most recently The Pearl. Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days Should be absolutely fine. Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines? Yes. Your favorite Mafia moment Favourite moment I actually witnessed was Bob's flailing in Yakuza. Favourite moment of all time was in Imotep when the camel went crazy and pooped everywhere. Those scenes were just so funny Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful They have a vote, the lynch is the most powerful weapon. They just have to follow things as much as they can, which can be tricky when a lot is done behind the scenes. (6 steps in a Mafia application?) Give me your word that you'll participate in whatever crazy concoction I've doctored to avoid the meta-gaming. It will take everyone's cooperation and to operate on their honor. You have my word. Not a fan of meta gaming.- 74 replies

Tarn is once again in awe as Hybros cuts down several of the attackers. He focusses again on Beautiful Beard, attacking the Dwarf from the back row using Lion's Heart. -
Makes you wonder if there would be a market for lockpicks as consumable items.

OOC: JimB is right, no-one was damaged by Beardy this round so she should still be Stunned. "The redhead wasn't much of a Nemesis, was she?" Tarn grinned, and aimed Lion's Heart at the Beautiful Beard, from the front row if she is Stunned, otherwise from the back row. -

Tarn smiles his thanks at Cinna for healing him and then moves in to attack the Red haired Demon from the back row using Lion's Heart. "Do you know what Nemesis means?" -

Tarn hears the wise words of his party leader and lowers his sword, expecting to feel the turmult of the teleporter at any second. It was strange enough going through it when he could see clearly, so he wasn't really looking forward to going through blinded, even if it did make sound tactical sense. -
Flipz, I'm guessing you'd put Bezerker in the Support class? Use of SP makes for a passable Tank, whilst War Cry buffs the party. I guess my issue with it personally is that Barbarian is very much an offensive class, and I liked that. Also re: the Isabeau Carpenter thing, I thought that Quest was one of the saddest (in tone) we've had.

OOC: should the Gentleman be Stunned after a defended counter, or doesn't it work because Tarn is Blinded? Unable to see, Tarn waves Lion's Heart in the general direction of Fair haired Gentleman from the back row. -

OOC: Think JimB is happy to wait until everyone has been healed before going through the door. Tarn idly patted the sides of the lantern he had looked at as he waited for Cinna to use the healing staff on the others. He mentally winced each time she lined up a hit with the staff. -
I agree with Scorpiox. I think there have been/are plenty of opportunities for morally grey choices within Quests, so much so that the opinion of Heroica in Olegaia seems to be divergent between "noble house of heroes" and "interfering, stuck-up group of busybodies". Flipz, I know you seem to really care about all of this, and have had several impassioned pleas recently, but you really should wait until you've actually tried QMing. All the theory in the world doesn't make up for an actual experience.

Tarn examines the blue lantern thingy. -
Interesting to see Tarn's relationship with Rystael mentioned (Flipz, you got the spelling spot on). For me, that relationship defined Tarn's character up to the point he joined Heroica. From then on, whilst taking cues from his upbringing (strong, brave, yet naive) I have been able to add more to him with each Quest he goes on and with all the other heroes he interacts with. The deth of Constance was obviously something that effected him greatly, and that was due to both of those elements.

"Outstanding deduction work, Hybros. I couldn't make head nor tail of our predicament." -
I've had a really good go at it and I can't get it. I blame being poorly! Hopefully one of my Questmates will get it.

Showoff! Seriously, you are always very quick with the puzzles when I've QMed you

Agreed. Although I've printed out the machine and the nine tiles, and cut them out so I can turn and arrange them, and I'm still stuck!

Tarn watched the others look over the tiles and how they would fit together. He would let those more capable have the first goes at solving this conundrum. Though stout and brave of heart, he knew his forte did not lie in deciphering such things, although a small part of his brain puzzled over the possibilities regardless.
