  1. LDD is a piece of software that ... make me spend a lot of time using it.
  2. Please try this link:
  3. Please try LDD new feature below link. LDD trick #13 : changing FOV (field of view) http://www.eurobrick...50#entry2444542 YouTube LDD FOV changing trick (field of view) by Nachapon S., on Flickr
  4. LDD trick #13 : changing FOV (field of view) Tutorial to change FOV field of view of Lego LDD 1. Place at least one brick or open any LDD file 2. File -- Export model -- Save as type -- LXFML 3. Edit the LXFML at about 9th line 3.1 For wider FOV (wide angle/ fish eye lens) change fieldOfView value smaller than 80 ie: fieldOfView="80" change to fieldOfView="10" 3.2 For narrower FOV (ISO view, tele lens) change fieldOfView value bigger than 80 ie: fieldOfView="80" change to fieldOfView="180" 4. save the LXFML 5. Open the LXFML by drag and drop it into LDD window. 6. Drag the edge of the brick pallette to far right side will resize it to maximum size, then drag it back. 7. Have fun! Usage samples: wideangle/ fish eye lens ISO view, tele lens
  5. With many and over lapping transparent parts + high setting. Had better do not use Pov-ray, only if you own a super computer :D Mecabricks + blender or Ldraw + blender will save a lot of time and electricity ;) This is a ten minutes Mecabricks + blender draft rendering: Rendertime: 9 min 46 sec (shown on top left of the screenshot).
  6. ^ @Commander Turtle, Thanks! I am glad you like the renders.
  7. Nice aircraft wing! I re-assembled the problem section (first lxf), hope this one work. Fixed LXF: http://www.brickshel...SSSD/12wing.lxf
  8. The problem piece is the red one. It didn't well connect to below bricks. After re-connect the red one (and bricks above it), I can place green bricks. 11. Thanks! I am glad you love it. (Sorry for late reply.) Using mecabricks to blender template, link: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=111050entry2248984 Everyone can learn to make photo-real Lego renderings in short time. Adding lights in blender is much easier than in POV-ray. Low sample draft rendering only. mecabricks by Nachapon S., on Flickr
  12. The small one work fine using separate trick. (use flex tool: click on black stick, then use hinge tool to rotate 1x3 plate) The big one is not an assembly part so separate trick will not work, and invisible color (color coed 999 or 0) not work with flex part, either. All we can do is using twist trick to make the tube become thin. (fix both side then rotate on side) LDD trick by Nachapon S., on Flickr
  13. ^ The work flow is similar to post #3 above. - ipad/iphone : Get e-drawings APP (2 USD), open any 3d sample model, press [AR] then [get marker] button to send the marker e-mail to yourself. Print the marker onto a paper. Try AR with any sample models. - Open a Lego model in Mecabricks.com 's workshop, [file] -> [export] -> pick .stl format. - PC: Download and install eDrawings Publisher / Viewer (free). Open your .stl model then save as edrawig format (*.eprt ). Then attache it to e-mail and send to youself. http://www.edrawingsviewer.com/ - ipad: Open the attachment with e-drawings APP. 14. Play Mecabricks / Ldraw / LDD model in AR App (Augmented Reality). Using a brick-build AR marker. Export mecabricks model to .stl then import and save it in e-drawings. I will try to improve quality later. 15. ^ I am glad to help :) The fixed LXF file below include 16 cloned brick I grouped then cloned aside before use hinge align tools. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/nachapon/94UCSSSD/14_8858_wip.lxf Steps: - group key parts relate to the alignment (this case 16 bricks) - clone the group aside - use hinge align tools to auto connect - remove non-align parts (trans red +blue) form main model - replace with hinge aligned parts (green) Trick when hinge align tool not working by Nachapon S., on Flickr
  16. You can move key parts relate to the alignment aside before use hinge align tool (for simplify the alignment structure). then put it back. To get the truck horizontal again, simply place a new brick then move the car to connect to the new brick. Fixed LXF: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/nachapon/94UCSSSD/15_8858_ldd.lxf
  17. Hope that we can have Lego game with Lego movie(photo-real) quality soon. (Fan made) Mario Is Unreal by aryoksini. Here is Mario running in Unreal Engine 4, all the environment assets were taken from the Unreal marketplace, all the character actions were scripted using blueprints only, all animations were re-created from scratch as well as the PBR ready textures.
  18. LDD: R mouse to rotate camera. Middle button no use. (should use to pan) Shift L mouse to pan R/L Arrows of the keyboard to rotate parts 90 degrees, but opposite direction as Mecabricks. LDD: L mouse drag to border select, Mecabricks have to press M key first. Hotkeys: LDD Mecabricks Founction c d copy h m hinge d del delete
  19. I suggest to add control and interface option for LDD or other Lego CAD software. For example drag left mouse button to rotate camera. L/R arrow key to turn brick same direct as LDD. Then new user no need to break the habits too much building with Mecabricks. Plus same icon position / same hotkey.
  20. You are welcome! You can built the template in seconds then save as a LDD template. 1. Place a 1x1 brick with side stud. 2. Place a 1x1 technic brick hole onto the side stud. 3. Place a 1x2 tile above both of them. Please make sure that there is a (Half LDU) gap between tile and technic brick. 4. delete the 1x1 brick with side stud. 5. Add two brick as a template. When you want to move something half LDU. Select something together with one(tile or technic brick) of the template. Then drag the template to fully connect (no gap anymore). Then something been moved half LDU. The moving direction depend on the orientation you place the template.
  21. Just test two random arm positions, still working. Did you forgot to rotate the [ red plate 1x2 with shaft 12 M ] 90 degree? LDD trick #1 Minifig hand grip a plate or tile by Nachapon S., on Flickr LDD trick #12 Half LDU precise move quick template (0.5 LDraw Unit = 1/16 plate) From left to right, simply make the green template by 4 steps. Please make sure that there is a (Half LDU) gap between tile and technic brick. It is exactly half LDU. Export them to lxfml and check. The origin height of technic brick = 0. The origin height of tile = 0.98000013828277588 cm. 0.98 - 0.96 (brick height) = 0.02 cm = half LDU LDD trick #12 Half LDU precise move quick template by Nachapon S., on Flickr
  22. ^Thank you for your explanation, Scrubs. Most expensive minifigure ever (concept). This got this idea for a while. The ideal cut diamond piece and all custom bricks seems not availible in Mecabricks any more. So I import form my old Stl file. The diamond material node setup can be found many in google, I use the 1st one: https://www.google.c...&bih=1009&dpr=1 All pics are draft rendering only because I got to go sleep.(quick preview rendering) Will try better light setup to get better later. 23. Thank you, both of you. Scrubs's node setup work well. But as Scrubs said, Mecabricks's decals texture are opaque (not same as LDD, why?) so have to delete background color of the decal first. Is it possible to do it directly in blender to get same result?
