Found a fun way to make huge lego classic simcity style rendering image. All we have to do is render every modules with same light and iso camera setting without background. Each module have to be render 4 times for 4 directions (N/S/W/E). Than just combine things together using image software. vean 's lxf 10246-1 - iso view render test (4k) by Nachapon S., on Flickr lego iso view render test by Nachapon S., on Flickr Modular Buildings lxf source 10182 - Cafe Corner - by Vee - 10185 - Green Grocer - by Man with a hat - 10190 - Market Street - by Johnnhiszippy3 - 10197 - Fire Brigade - by Man with a hat - 10211 - Grand Emporium - by Johnnhiszippy3 - 10218 - Pet Shop - by P4trickvH - 10224 - Town Hall - by Sjuip - 10232 - Palace Cinema - by Stephan - 10243 Parisian Restaurant by kcoon

Can't open the file. The lxfml show that there are about 17,000 parts, that should be OK. Maybe the real problem is the huge Rigid system #24: <Rigid refID="24" (group of parts connected together #24) which is follow with part #31 to #15903. So there are about 16,000 part connected together in this Rigid system. That mean almost all parts in this big scene connected together! Build large scale LDD: - Often Save as new files after add some stuff. (many versions for spare/safety, as same as Eurobrick's LDD RCB). - Do not connect all modules together, just put them side by side. (Don't let too many parts connected together, huge Rigid system = huge calculations for connectivity.) 4K Rendering 4096 x 2560 pixels. suenkachun 's Mini Race Track 4k render by Nachapon S., on Flickr

POV-Ray Question
Nachapon Bricks replied to nxtstep101's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
- Fast radiosity is much faster. - Many technic parts with all bevels always very slow (many polygons). - Original LDD geometry is super fast. (less polyons) 1st 2 min rendering time.(Original LDD geometry) 2nd 30 min rendering time. Working gears in LDD
Nachapon Bricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I am not sure. Are you able to view real smooth 60fps embed video in EB forum on Chrome with flash player or HTML5? A structure to link the hinge motion with straight linear motion, using your universal joint trick. Maybe can work with linear actuator, too.- 27 replies

Working gears in LDD
Nachapon Bricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I use both IE11 and Chrome. Both of them support 60fps video watching on You/tube.com, and both of them not support 60fps video embed watching on EB.- 27 replies

Working gears in LDD
Nachapon Bricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Thanks for sharing interesting trick of the LA animation above. I noticed that your new videos are smooth 60fps (flame per second) as YouTube just supported. So I make a test upload, too. For smooth video we must watch 60fps video on the real YouTube.com only, Not here in EB. Bucause in EB there is no 60fps quality option to select (not support). The 60fps video will become 30fps and not so smooth in EB. In Youtube Please select full-screen 1080p60 or 720p60 of quality setting.- 27 replies

Thanks! When I build 76023 The Tumbler. I tried an improve method for save time to find a need brick using LDD manager. Create five custom UserPalettes for five instruction booklets to complete the model. This method will make UserPalettes become smaller and smaller so I can find a need brick faster and faster. [Software] LDD Manager
Nachapon Bricks replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
When I build 76023 The Tumbler. I tried an improve method for save time to find a need brick using LDD manager. Create five custom UserPalettes for five instruction booklets to complete the model. This method will make UserPalettes become smaller and smaller so I can find a need brick faster and faster. First use bricklink and LDD manager to generate all 76023's parts as UserPalettes #1. After finish book #1 then save file. Pick all run out parts (shown remain Q'ty = [0]) from brick Palette and place them together -> select them -> Ctel+X to cut. Then open the lxf of UserPalettes #1 -> Ctrl+V to paste the run-out parts. Use same color and shape selection tool to delete all run out part from UserPalettes #1 (one by one)-> save as UserPalettes #2 -> use UserPalettes #2 to continue the built. Repeat steps until complete the model. It would be great if LDD add an function (check box) to hide the run out bricks automatically in UserPalette. Just like to build an official set in real world. when a kind of brick ran out. We should not see them on the table anymore. Another improve idea: Every time placing the last brick of any kind, Just place one more of it aside the model. Then no need to pick them out one by one for subtract from UserPalettes in the future. And they will clearly shown [-1] in red color in the brick palette. -
