Great review preview CopMike Can't wait. This set is to be released in the U.S. on April 1st too, right? I wonder if that blue Maersk helmet on BL will drop in price. $599? Why do those stickers say Maerss?

How open are you about your Lego passion?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't use my collection as a pick up line but, a couple close friends know. Some of my family also know but, are in the dark on how much I spend/ spent since getting back in. The friends that know are/ were also big fans. As I get older I see myself caring less and less about others judging -
Looking for a certain piece!does it exist?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Diggydoes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Actually your half right. This piece does exist! But, and this is a big BUT, it is a MegaBlock part, so it doesn't exist in Lego. Its studs are on both sides. Its a 2 x 2 and the plate part is thicker than a Lego plate. Just something to know I guess. -
Personally I was not a fan of this set. It was released when TLG was in a weird place. By that, I mean, they were producing sets that looked some what cheap, with those single pieces that replaced numerous small ones. I am a 9V collector but, never bought this one. I would sell it as a whole on eBay and put that money towards a new train or other sets but, thats just me. I think PF trains are better looking.

I found this http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jamesster/Space-Prototypes/42.bmp . not sure if its a MOC or prototype. It was listed on a separate page that described it as an early space prototype then I clicked on the link to brickshelf. Here is the BS page that has the other 80's "prototypes" and some other more recent looking ships. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=448827 The older ones look like potential viable protos but, no definitive proof. Just that they look true to the era. Hope this helped. This got me curious

Great review Brickster I guess its available to us in US now? I don't think I will be owning this set though. Its not that I don't like it but, as I have most of all the classic sets with the smaller black and white shuttles, this one doesn't look like it will fit in. I am however, not a fan of the added colors of red and blue. Some of the other details beat the h**l outa the older sets. The coffee mug is a funny little piece to have. Not real sure how that plays into this set (take-off/ gravity deficiency ) I think this set would be above average or, maybe, even outstanding if TLG would have giving us pieces for three boosters and made it compatible with the new launch site or at least a transport truck. Then I might consider buying this set

CITY: Extremely random photos from Lego City!
LEGO Guy Bri replied to ACCURATEin's topic in LEGO Town
This looks great so far! What do you use to create the stickers? Software, printer, and blank sticker sheet? I'd like to create some stickers of my own for places around town. -
That is a heck of a free* gift from your friend My bud gave me his old bin full too, not near 20kg but, around 15lbs (almost 7kg I think). Then again he offered just to get rid of them Anyway, today I bought some classic Police sets: a 4th 1896 Trauma Team, 2nd 6344 Jet Speed Justice, a 6354 Pursuit Squad, and a 6664 Chopper Cops For $42 on eBay

LEGO Guy Bri replied to OctanTrucker's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yea its a larger version of the dish I linked above http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=3961 but the 4x4x6? http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=30562 Not real sure how these would play into the design though -
Won a third 3180 Fuel Truck, a third 7635 4x4 w/ trailer, and a fifth 7248 TRU Truck for $61 and a couple BL orders

Need some help with my train snowblower moc
LEGO Guy Bri replied to OctanTrucker's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Consider this part http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=4285a connected in front of this part http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=17758&colorID=1 inside the housing. BTW that thing looks mean. Never seen this before. Really neat -
Why is the 7747 Wind Turbine Transport so unpopular...
LEGO Guy Bri replied to medib's topic in LEGO Town
I like this a lot. I noticed a lot of you said you don't like the truck, especially the trailer. I, however, like the truck. The design that allows the trailer to extend was a nice touch. It serves as a nice platform to "transport" larger items (i.e. a train car) with slight modification. I do agree on the discussion on it being overpriced. I snatched up a few when TLG sold it for $27 dollars, but the original was too high. I picked my first off of eBay for around $55, and that, IMO, was way to high. I just wish it was a little bit taller. It doesn't look right next to my Vestas. -
Great modified system you built They look like they work flawlessly. If only I had 12v Great job anyways!

I Should have thought about that for a second to make that connection . Still, I had no idea Brasso as a medium for modding minifigs. If it can remove tarnish why not ink. Good to know, thanks

Loco from 7939. Is it modelled after a real engine?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to henryhotspurs's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yeah, unless its a licensed set like SF, BNSF, or Maersk, all other trains are not designed after specific trains. They only take cues from them (only because they have to make it look like a locomotive) The guy from TLG in this video http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=52459 explained a little about the difference between the designing a replica vs. a regular train set -
Neat job Omi. So what exactly is this brassoe(?) technique? Am I correct on my observation of the partial removal of the print on the minifig torso and legs by means of a cemical? (i.e. paint thinner) I may consider giving this a go... If this is how to get this result. I'd like to know a few tricks of this trade to "experiment" on a few of my extra torsos

Much better, now that you have those matching hinges at the wall base. Looks clean. Now all you need is to furnish the upstairs. BTW I like how you left out the stairs... They take up to much room for interior locale. Roots of open backs. Really wish I came outa my dark age before this set was discontinued. Can't wait to see the finished mod. Keep up the great work
