  1. Very cool crane M_Longer Great detail and awesome job on the steering mechanism! How manny crawler crane sets did this take? Keep up the great work!
  2. Great review Rufus I agree that releasing new police sets is redundant (same goes for the FD) Its just too soon but gives us a chance to save for upcoming sets (marina, harbor, etc) I still think they should have released a new hospital. Back to the new van. I like it. Much improvement over the last. Not to fond of the blue and white color scheme as pretty much all of of my PD is black and white. I did not realize how much bigger it was than the last. Bottom line better looking, more features, better playability
  3. COGO > COmmunistic leGO
  4. Yep, same deal here too. The Shantou Cheng Lee Plastic Co, I believe is the manufacturer of all of these Chinese knock-offs (Coga, Enlighten, Kazi, etc) It's kinda like how Mattel owns both Matchbox, and Hot Wheels, although there platforms (cars) are completely different. Then again those are quality toys/ collectibles. Something S.C.L.P. Co apparently has no clue. Their market is directed toward the majority of that region and other regions where most can't afford quality products such as Lego. Quality control is expensive and requires more time during manufacture. S.C.L.P. Co molds and builds these products and is then distributed by the Liangdian Up Company (LDU) which seems to be one of China's main distributors of tons of Chinese products. The result of this massive flow of low quality product irritates the hell outa me. I am an avid eBayer and purchase many discontinued city sets, bulks, and 9V products. So I'm sure this applies to many. The issue comes mainly to the train section as normally there are only 400-600 listings w/ a third being from the knock offs. City sets, not as bad. Usually those average 3500 listings. M. Blocks never appear, but Kazi or enlightment (all the same) are all over, disrupting searches and don't seem to sell often. Ebay has yet to do something about this Terrible products, terrible customer service (from feedback I've read) terrible listings (i.e. happy fun time girl picnic dog good day). My advice stick to what we know and love
  5. Played alto sax for two years, snare for one (grade skool to Jr. High). Currently playing/learning acoustic 1975 Yamaha YF-75, electric 2010 Ibanez GiO, and 70's Kalamazoo bass guitar. Plan to get cheap drum set in the future. I can also sing, I wouldn't say Idol worthy, but have a decent range of pitches as well as a good ability to closely match voices from vocalists to cartoon characters. Although my instrument of choice is the car; play that thing like a bat outa hell!
  6. Unfortunately yes, I have. Originally established in 1993 the Shantou Cheng Lee Plastic Co, lack of a worse word, "specializes" in the manufacture of building bricks, hobby toys and other plastic constructional toys, as well as, the export of numerous (a gagillion) other miscellaneous toys. Kin to Elighten Bricks, err I mean crap Hope this answered your question White Nun
  7. Great review Mr. Penguin Batman is my favorite, non-super, super hero but, this set seams a bit odd to me. I'm not thrilled, maybe a little confused with it's concept. I get the chase part but, a Dragster... a motorcycle... in 'Gotham'? 2+2=chair? Batman is always chasing somebody, just not a quarter mile at a time and never in a straight line. i get they are both quick, except when it comes to making that right turn at the light. A long wheel base car against this little bike just seems like kinda crazy. Then again the Tumbler is a tank that drives like a Corvette. Besides the B-man has an assortment of better handling vehicles. Not real sure what TLG was going for here but, hey its not going to appeal to everyone, except for the purp bike, I'd take one and lose the flame
  8. Wow you really nailed the look of the actual Church. If you say this is your best MOC yet, I'ma go with your word.
  9. I would say yes, in theory. As I stated before longer wire for larger layouts would drop the voltage with the more loads (lights) added + the added resistance from the longer wire. I am, however, not an expert on the 12V. I am just using what I know about how car stereos work, as I built my car's stereos and speakers. You'll probably get an in depth tutorial on the 12v functions from 12v AFOL or Lego Train 12v. They both have very large elaborate layouts with accessories.
  10. Whoa, THESE are awesome!! Great use of the E.N. wheels. Great detail! Love the green one (fav. color). Thumbs WAY UP!
  11. Cool NASCAR delivery van MOC Spike! Got me wanting to score some stickers for a few of my sets. Where is the best place to find an assortment of NASCAR stickers or any other mechanic/ auto brand stickers (i.e. K&n, Lucas oil, Royal Purp, etc)? Hobby shop, Wal-mart, target, etc? keep up the great work!
  12. Nice MOC Lt. de Martinet Very Elegant!
  13. I don't understand the point of TLG releasing many of the sets as originally planned (i.e. police Dec-Jan or Bank Jan.) in the U.S. but, held back the Police Chase... I wander what this means for the U.S. release of sets like the Marina, Harbor, Speed Boat, S.B. Transport, etc...
  14. Really great furniture set! Really like the minibar and the food prep bar
  15. I have done this with my metroliner, One at both ends provides the same power at one with two at one end. One at each end is the ideal setup if your track has an incline. One to push, one to pull. However, if your train isn't too long; 5-7 cars two at one end would be fine IF adding a 9v at the back would look weird. That being said I have read that two 9v engines on the same car end up dirtying the track faster than having one on each individual train car (i.e. 2 BNSFs w/ one motor on each, or similar setup) If you run long trains on flat surface it doesn't really matter where the motors are located until you get into issues with the magnet strength and part of the train getting left behind. Any further questions or if you'd like my personal opinion on your train specifically, just let me know whatcha hauln (# of cars)! Hope this helps
  16. dDo you have any trees/ shrubbery/ flowers/ plants left? Bundle pack with price tag? Interested
  17. Yeah the video wasn't very good, but from what you can see, looks awesome
  18. The Hillside House and Light House I believe are to be released in June.
  19. Wow, this is very impressive. Absolutely enormous, really great work Morten! And congrats on your 3rd. Hope everything goes well!
  20. Greetings Gareth, Concerning accessories: Assuming this 7864 LEGO 12v speed regulator is the one you are referring to. The 13v connector may be for use with 12v street lamps so they are at constant brightness rather than variable pick up from the electrified train track. The 13v is probably for use with longer lengths of wire between them and the power-pack or for many accessories. Long wire= more resistance. I don't think they are going to get 13v, in fact, they may well not even be getting 12v. The lights should be fine. The best way to judge this is to take the lights, and (in a dark room) look at the lumens (brightness) or color of the light, if it is yellow then the bulbs will have a decent lifespan and working properly, if they are white or look excessively bright, then you are running them with too much voltage and I would recommend not using that output. Hope this helps
  21. Great MOC and an even better idea for displaying your minifig collection. Really original. I applaud your effort. It looks perfect! Great job!
  22. Small BL order for my 1st 7686 Helicopter Transport and 7993 Service Station (both incomplete) and a few extra trash cans. Won a series 3 "Rapper", a 2nd 6445 Rescue Evac Truck, a 5th 6517 Water Jet, and a 2nd 7686 Heli Transport and 64 9v straights.
  23. Well, I guess I'll be the first. I am not biased toward inside, outside purchases from the U.S. I have never been screwed from sellers outside the U.S. before, though usually buy from here for lower shipping costs. I am however, skeptical about members w/ NEG. or NO feedback. So here is what I done did... I offered $25 on a couple and they accepted... Before hand, I checked their profile. These are the facts available. This is definitely a gamble as TrixBrixsa has been a member since March 2010, with 0 activity. No buying, no selling. As of 11/10, 40 have been sold, too early to have any arrive. Update: I did receive a confirmation message stating that my items will be shipped monday via Reg. Int. Airmail. earlier this afternoon. Looks like estimated delivery is March 3-13ish. eck Update: All track arrived today. You can trust this seller. Track is old gray and looks brand new. Very happy with this.
  24. No Pepsi, just Coke! Great MOC 'cavegod' Very impressive Those are huge, the can was a great prospect to its size. The details are awesome. Keep up the great work.
  25. That is an awesome ship soundwave_sw! This looks massive! Good thing it's protected. But seriously, you say it's around 6500(+) pieces? I would have guessed 10k+ Great job though, this is very impressive.
