Funk me sideways, that's great, everything is purfect.

I disagree with Blufiji, I think the loose studs water technique is the best looking out there, even if well placed cheese slopes and tiles to create waves can look really fantastic I still prefer this probably due to the non-solid look/feel, but I do agree with thethang22 that having the studs contained would be a bit better and give a more finished appearance. but I digress, what I came to say was of course that the build looks great

Fright Knights Conspiracy: Basil the Batlord is a Vampire?
Isundir replied to Eggyslav's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hmm as a kid I always assumed he was a Vampire, now there is some proof to boot :) -
Neat scene, is it the Spellswords Golem?
-
I like how you paired up Skyrim with Dark Souls Good stuff as always Nightstalker

I hope this gets made into an official set, and I say that as somebody who generally dislikes Black sets and builds! Really fantastic grand build and the minifigs are really fantastic too

Great little diorama, next time try to Edit your existing thread instead of making a new one

MOC: Cross Section of a Castle Under Siege
Isundir replied to Vorkosigan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Love it. this would be a great way to display different minifigs too. @Sneeuwwitje, fun fact from my limited medieval historical knowledge, oil was too expensive to use to drop on enemies and instead they'd chuck down rocks on their attackers. -
really wanted to keep my trap shut but really This, these sets look like they were made 30 years too late. I kind of like the Knights from what we can see and I do not dislike the idea behind the theme but the overall set design looks really outdated, lots of big ugly pieces and just seems like eh unfinished I would say. Take everything that TLG has done in terms of improvements over the years and throw it out the window for Nexo Knights, either that or I am blind? I don't want to hate but I really can't wrap my head around this.

I haven't found any other pictures no Edit* found them, I don't want to be a debbie downer but that is honestly one of the worst LEGO themes I have ever seen. It's like a terrible attempt at some sort of return to Retro Castle-Space theme done really really poorly. This may be gold for old school retro fans and I can see some elements that may appeal to kids as well, enjoy it if you can, I'm just not part of the demographic for this I guess.

It looks like a Metal Stronghold of some sort, the wall panels remind me of S.W.A.T./Police Riot shields and there are stud shooters, hardly a Castle Those Tank Treads are obnoxiously oversized as well, very unappealing. It's actually the only thing I dislike about the image the Knights look cool they could be Space Marines akin to the Grey Knights from Warhammer 40K. The Villain looks like a proper creep but the little minion looks too silly and not even cute so I'd say the Castle and the Minion are the 2 things I really dislike so far. (Would have to see the actual Brick Built thing to say for sure though.)

Thank you, that is definitely very Sci-Fi looking from that Image, I do somewhat like it for what it is, I would buy into that if I was going to dabble into Sci-Fi more then I currently do.
-
Hmm Hoverboard Shields and Magic Books sounds interesting, first things potential Library aside I've read that I like. What exactly do you mean by Circle Things the Space Marine armour has though? The Body Armour molds?
-
As a huge Warhammer and 40K fan this does not remotely resemble 40K from what we've heard or seen.

I see, now that you mentioned it that actually makes a lot more sense

A lot of people kept mentioning that Castle 2013 flopped and the chances of this are slim, but honestly I would just love to see any kind of historical theme... and any kind of more Civilian sets, like MMV and MVR... there are all those City Modulars and I'd love to see Historical/Castle Modulars. Anything like that would be instant buy and potential multiples for me. If we just got one really nice big Historical set each year annually that would already be good.

I see, normally whenever I ask what that is, actually even just mention it everybody goes dead silent

Just saw the drawings, that looks ridiculous, something I'd dislike even when I was a child (it reminds me somehow of Time Cruisers, the sets I got as a child and absolutely hated ). I was staying optimistic and hoping for Ninjago quality which has a lot of things to salvage yet this looks so much closer to Chima which would mean maybe a few interesting minifig prints/bits at best. Really curious about the Library now, is it going to be a spaceship or a robotic dragon that stores books.

It looks really nice, my How To Train Your Dragon knowledge is limited though I've seen snippets of the series but I never actually got around to seeing the movies.

I totally agree that there should be helmets in here, I just couldn't figure out a way to fit them in that was to my liking.

Most people are of the believe that it has to at least be Medieval Fantasy or it has no place here. I see their point, it seems so much closer to Sci-Fi.

Very nice, the second build makes it a bit easier on the eyes to distinguish the rock work from the tower, the vibrant flower/grass bits are lovely. The grill pieces work for me on the outside but for some reason I find them a bit off on the inside. I look forward to seeing more

Is this also part of that hush hush Aurora thing? Build looks nice although I can't put my finger on it but it feels like the tree is missing something.
