LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Kim-Kwang-Seok replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
sry 4 going super offtopic but - yes it does matter. For a lot of us - if not most - $100 bucks isn't that little. & it ain't just that. Sure due to inflation & other reasons the price can increase a bit. But since TFA wave it's waaaaay over reasonable. sets with less pieces now cost $10 more than some with even more figures. That's sad since I think the price-policy of TLG was very reasonable in the past. & it gets even more absurd if you compare City or SW to the Ninjago line with mostly 8-9 bucks per 100 pieces + much more new molds, leg prints, new prints & more figures. Either the new movies/Disney/copyrights interfered or they just do it because they can. & We still buy it - including myself. -

That's a myth. CW Maul got great arm printing in a cheap set, 3 wookies got it in another. But somehow they can't do arm printing for Ahsoka, Sabine or Rex? In already overpriced sets? We got a super detailed C3PO figure in a polybag & less detailed versions in more expensive sets. Maybe they don't want too much cheap plastic in the SW line. Would have to get a honest answer out of a designer - & they rather'd say "everything (in TLG) is awesome", than anything of interest. Don't know the reason why Lego keeps making bad figures (or ones that never reach the potential they could otherwise & may never be updated again; Ahsoka, pink season #1 Sabine) for the SW line. Anyway, boots for the Jedi would be epic. I rather fear they won't give Thawn black boots. & I idiot didn't get the CMF scientist who had the perfect leg piece -
The yellow one with the modified wings is seen in SW Rebels by some gangsters aligned with the Empire. Always nice to see T-Moc's. For now this is probably one of my favourite builds, since the bigger one's mostly lack the grey lines on the "inner side" of the wings. - Even with all the corners & exposed studs, it's reminds me somehow more of the bubble it should be than most other sets/mocs. - love how you got the "window" on the back. Most builds miss to shape the rear part accurate. How many parts did you use approximately?

Would love to see a real build of it. I like it much better than the Lego set. -

So we still don't know for sure if it will be mostly the same like the previous version? Don't think 200 parts could change a lot. Though besides to an outer shell I think it was pretty much perfect. I guess some newer, parts, smaller parts, a better midi-T-Advanced & most of all: an improved elevator, since stability is the #1 goal for SW sets today. The figs are dissapointing though. For 80 parts they could have given the nerds under us a few easter egg characters, more imperial officers for that instance. -

More pictures of the T-Striker are out. It appears the rear part of the ship has a pretty cool looking "machine room" that is visible if you open the hatch & also shows the mechanism to move the wings. Most people here probably won't bother, but the colour scheme is really bad I think. As always with the T-Ships - too much dark grey & for some reason sand blue. Plus the "gunner" trooper definitely has a new mold. I still wonder if the fig may use the female protagonist's head... -

..weeell in the show the dragons have a completely different look ;) They all look very similar to each other & not very organic. I enjoy the designs of the Lego dragons much more. btw: Forgot: Nya's dragon is also to be made. -

Would'nt count on interior these days.. I wonder if the ship will also fit on the back of the Lego Ghost - & if how it will look. The Phantom for example was too big for my taste. -

I'd rather see a brick built dragon with a similar high quality in tan colours, brown colours & black - instead of a "mechanic" dragon. Wu's dragon & Lloyd's looked more authentic to me than some brick-built ones - now we just need one with "realistic colours". Since Ninjago (unfortunately) won't have too many waves left... Plus still no decent Kai & Cole dragon. a mix of red colours & a black or brown one from Cole could be epic! -

Your ships - including the interior designs - capture the "imperial feeling" very well. In my dreams I'd build whole fleets with these ships I'd be interessted how a mod/moc of the latest official ISD would turn out in your hands. -

So the CW line is not dead... Even with the new material comming (Freemakers, Rebels, RO, new trilogy) maybe that means there's still a chance for some characters to be produced... Still need Ahsoka II & Rex phase II I wonder if they will reuse the CW Yoda head or just the "normal" one? Funny how most of the conversation here is now about this particular SF. I for once wanted it to be made in Lego since I first saw the premiere (which was in German due to copyright issues ; ) Just relax - if you don't want Yoda to have his own Interceptor, just use the ship for somebody else small enough ;) Though I doubt they could make the ship as small as it's supposed to be. Probably just a smaller Interceptor. And still to reach 25 dollars they'd need to include something else (since named characters are not sold anymore under 25 $). More figs, ground stuff - or the coolest thing: his hyperdrive-ring!!! -

What could the set "Shadow of the destinys bounty" be?! If it is a smaller version, I don't think 30 $ would be enough for even that... Keep the unexpected in mind. My previous imaginations of former set names completely diverged from the actual sets. *sky pirates* I am also wondering how "swamp themed" will turn out - since we always get ground based stuff. -

Wouldn't say everything about the EU was great but they could have at least taken some inspiration from it. Concerning characters, plot AND the designs. Instead of all the other non-canon T-designs we get a grey sausage with super large wings. It seems that "super large wings" have to be the prime feature of every new ship now.. Now there's just the DS left... Isn't it odd that we still don't know anything but rumors since it will come out in the next 2 months? -

Interessting how similar the design style of the RO vehicles is compared to the ones seen in TFA. Besides to the reused. To me they are not nearly as attractive as the prequel or sequel ships. Rather trying to have bizarre & outstanding colours, angles & shapes instead of focussing on unique & creative designs. Like the movies the designers go away from SW. The TV show Rebels designs for example are inspired by original & very original (Mcquarrie) ones & therefore give me a prequel feeling. Not just because of superficial easter eggs. Not saying any of it is bad. Just more like any random sci-fi rather than SW. *offtopic rant over. -

I'll try to post some pictures of my mod tonight - can anyone send me PM instructions how to open a thread for mods? Or is is just as simple as picking "new topic"? -

the exact angles on the sides are impossible to create with under 1000 parts & decent interior space. Speaking of which: You can easily expand the middle, cockpit part & the back with some moding. Price & minifigure details are a huge mess though - can't argue with that. & the ship itself is just a unaestethic "cargo ship". If you rather like designs with obscure & pointless wings, thats just subjective. -

I didn't mind the dark red, since it gives the set the looks of an "ex" republic frigatte. However, I hate the tan so I switched it out with yellow parts (they do exist in that colour). Well this one needed & still needs tons of modding, but when I'm done it will be much better. Bigger cockpit for 2-3 people + a lot of consoles, the (very small) conference part in the middle with the round dish + a hyper engine & some cargo crates at the now usable back. I'll try to make the interior white - like in the show, but for that I'd also need to close all gaps. Also thinking about making the bottom rounder with these pieces: ...maybe build in some feature with bombes, mini-Awings, missiles. http://brickset.com/parts/4658974 http://brickset.com/parts/4180470 Overall they gave 60 % of the space away with stupid decisions & it's not that difficult to mod that mistakes. I complain more about not updating Ezra Oh & Ahsoka's lightsabers are awesome -
Great moc! It's sized down, but still displays the most important factors for me. & I love the creativity of the "guests" However, the build is way to beautiful for the "wood & trees" part. Though that is difficult to build , it would be epic with a proper landscape + a little glimpse of the lake. Since I lack the colorful parts I always use blankets, paper etc. for a better background to support the main build.

...& what about the poor bothans (who died to give us this information)?! if the list is correct we'll either get another A-Wing, or some kind of "command center". Would love the latter one, but don't hope for it.. -

The final duel was rumored in fake lists every year... Sounds almost too good to be true. The possibility to collect desired figs was veeery poor for most of the last waves.. Especially the winter waves.. & let's not forget that most sets of the winter wave are steadily cheap - so you'd get figs like Maul, Qui Gon Dagobah Luke, Thrawn, updated Kanan in sets between 25-50 bucks.. I fear there'll be less female figs though.. -

Version 2 is much smoother & less studier & messier. Plus the guns should be parallel I think. They seem a bit thick though - but you could always use somethink thiner later. The structure looks fine. I'm very excited for the cargo hold... Hope you'll get some interior into it! -

My online-shop has the Rebel Combat Frigate - hopefully the store has it too, then I'll pick it up right away. In Germany the price is really $120 - which is a big ripoff.. but Ahsoka! !!! ...At least there's 15 % off today... -

You have my thanks Aaaah come on.! Seeing the technic pieces at the sides of the cockpit makes me think that there won't be that much going on at the front too. Would be awesome to get a real cockpit for 2-3 figures or at least enough space for that! & what did they mean now with "wrench assembly? On the box it seams that there's nothing on the rear of the ship. seems like another set + figures I'll have to upgrate. Like a lot.
