Nocturnus Minichallenge III B: A Tasty Treat
Exetrius replied to LittleJohn's topic in Guilds of Historica
Wow, what a build; where to start? Lovely furniture/architecture, I love the part with the functional drawers and the ingredient storage next to it, awesome touch with the Orc heads used as some kind of tubers! The floor and the furnace are also fantastic, just as all other smaller details that make this build so lively. I very much like your characters, especially the bear chef! Great work! -
Great scene with very nice features! The frozen pool, rock pillar and the packet of snow in general are really nice, I also like the fairly ornate sled. Nice to see your story continue, I'm curious where they are taking him.

"The Bus"... As a playset, it looks fun, but I honestly don't see the appeal as a display set.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Exetrius replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Heel, you guys are good at guessing! Posted it in the army building topic: All of them are there, as well as practically every other NK part that was previously unavailable. The only thing is: they're quite expensive imo -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Exetrius replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I did a B&P order about a month ago with, which included a few Ghostbuster wigs, the Earth blue Star Wars hood and mainly Ninjago parts: (sorry if these aren't new or already mentioned previously in this thread, just tuning in ) -
The retaking of Eolas: A heroes farewell
Exetrius replied to The Maestro's topic in Guilds of Historica
This is a great build! I saw it over on Flickr but somehow missed it in the Guilds up to this point. It has so much atmosphere and character! Fantastic work on the buildings; placed at odd angles, having tons of texture and excellent woodwork! The waving lady in the behind the opened window is a really nice touch. Great figure posing in the crowd as well, and the colourful flags just finish off the whole cheerful scene! I'm not really a fan of the border being higher than the ground level, but that's really a minor thing. -
Nocturnus Minichallenge III/a: Igronow the Black... Baker
Exetrius replied to kahir88's topic in Guilds of Historica
Wow! That is one awesome backstory, you've given Igronow so much character in such a short text! The figure itself looks cool, and to what did you attach the arms? Nice kitchen setting, I hope we will see more of it soon! Nice work!- 10 replies

Lovely build, SK! This is another piece of evidence that you are a real snowscape specialist, and as such, you are a worthy teacher! As Henjin mentioned, the snow hanging over the edge of the rocks is a great feature!

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Exetrius replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Once again, my congratulations to the winners! At this point, I don't have the time, nor pieces, nor inspiration for Minichallenge III unfortunately, but that may change. One could argue that that the other guilds are more 'people' than we are, demographically speaking. That aside, the participation of our guild members was under average given the theme and setting, from my experience. Nothing against the other guilds and their members! -
Nocturnus Minichallenge I: Foreign Aid
Exetrius replied to MassEditor's topic in Guilds of Historica
Congratulations to you, Jacob, Henjin! (Too bad I couldn't enter because of other obligations) -
Ninjago vs Chima is rather vague. It could depend on the aspect you are looking at, so do you mean: the themes as a whole? the design and quality of the sets? the concepts behind it? the tv shows? I'd pick Ninjago over Chima at any aspect, though. Period.

Great review, awesome set! Being a sports car lover, I think this set is a particularly exciting one amongst the Ideas sets. All the printed goodness is really delightful, too. Additionally, unlike all Creator Expert car models, this one is significantly cheaper than €99.99, yay!

LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion

LEGO leak thread on reddit is were I got them, but that was several weeks ago... -
Next issue will feature a mini mech thing. In my opinion, that thing looks horribly incomplete, even for a polybag.
-
Next issue will have a duel propeller plane thingy; rather unexciting but it fits the Skybound theme at least.

LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

Aside from Dogpound and Leatherhead, there is Axl from Nexo Knights who can be considered one, I think. Me too! In my opinion, current bigfigs lack both attachment points and articulation points. The Fantasy Era trolls from the 2008 Castle theme were better, having studs on the wrists, belt, helmet and back, but also lackuster articulation. Being able to build the armour on the figure, plus having head and leg articulation, would make bigfigs so much better! Btw, anyone have a clue when we will start seeing official pics? Release date is January 1st, right? -
At this point, I think it's save to say that no Star Wars set is ever going to pass the Review stage. I think BB-8 would have been the safest bet of the batch: based of a character that is already famous beyond the SW fanbase; having an adorable function and a moderate parts count; not really fitting in with the scale of the other sets of the line... Such a shame! The choice for the Fishing Store was a great and pleasant surprise, though.

LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion

Is there a source for that? Seems really odd considering the popularity of the theme and the fact that for most themes you can buy sets from two or more waves back (Ninjago for example). -

Can't believe you spotted that! Cool, thanks for sharing! Long time no see, Cogg, welcome back! I'm looking forward to these sets, all the villains and the ninja are looking great so far and I have a feeling that big, threaded dual-catapult vehicle is actully pretty cool. I don't think these are demon samurai, though. Theory time: Now, my guess is that the red guys are Fangpyre-Stone Warrior hybrids, the orange-ish guy in the Jay bike set is a Constrictai hybrid. This makes perfect sense considering that the Serpentine got locked up in the Stone Army Tomb and that the theme of powers is 'fusion'. No clue who those black rogue ninja could be, though. -
Wow, this is gold! haha, saw this on 9gag today!

Lego themes that we would like to happen
Exetrius replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Agreed, an Egyptian theme would be great! It's a concept that has only been done in PQ, and single sets in Scooby Doo, Monster Fighters and Indiana Jones, in the modern age of LEGO. There are quite a few opportunities to innovate. For example, PQ only had above ground structures like an obelisk, sphinx and pyramid; quintessential, but Egypt is more than that. A large tomb, build in the mountainside (think: city of Petra), could work as the largest set. A Nile vessel would be fantastic as well.- 451 replies
