  1. That's nice, but tbh I'm more excited that the forest boy comes with two mushrooms, that makes life easier ;)
  2. Fun read and original backdrop!
  3. Worded like that, it sounds like a no to me.
  4. This is grand! As I am trying to collect my thoughts on this fascinating piece of work, I reckon it may be easier for me to just list it: Massive crowd!! You said you didn't give as much care to each combo as you usually would, but I see many good figures, and none out of place, not a single one! The purple tiles are a brilliant idea: bringing harmony to overall colour distribution while also kicking up the 'cheering crowd' feel! Btw, I estimate there are ~440 figures in the scene. I counted 25 figures under the awning between the first arch and second arch (from left), which I used as a visual unit to quickly estimate the total. Presentation is off the charts! Great lighting and sharp-looking photography as usual, but the moving camera gif is wonderful (also, thanks for the credit there! ), and then the video... wow! Is that the first GoH video?? Really well-made timelapse montage and ditto narration! Now I also understand why you needed to summon the energy to do the editing. Intricate and inspiring architecture! The middle section with the pillars (and striking banners) looks so natural yet is definitely unconventional. I will deduce some points for stressing bricks, fragile construction, filler chaos, and some lack of front-to-back compatibility of your architecture. Which would all have gone unnoticed, had I not watched your video. Sorry. All in all, congrats on your achievements and looking forward to future contributions!

  7. Proud to share some of my latest OC figures with you, and some of the best (as far as one can say that of their own work )! Warriors of the East Batu the Invisible || Gan Sin Kieu || Golden Aradhya || Tetshiki of Thunder || Princess Kyong-Hyeon-Ji Hope you like them! Bios on Flickr.
  8. Thanks for clarifying!
  9. I've read your article twice now, and have let it sink in. Some things I can agree with, others not so much. General comment: wording like this may strike a chord with those that already have a similar opinion as you do, but does not really invite an objective debate. Anyway, what do you mean by "completely unremarkable LEGO theme"? I fail to see why that would apply to Ninjago, or most other themes for that matter. Now, about the show. I largely agree with your points on that one. I too was a fan of the show, its what made the theme come alive for me (and indeed probably anyone else). I've watched it up to Day of the Departed. It look good, had a great soundtrack, good voice acting, and a decent enough plot. The expanding lore kept me invested for quite some years, but as you say: in the end the story doesn't really build up to something bigger. I felt that what I had seen up to that point was enough; that I didn't need to see more to enjoy Ninjago. And that's the key thing: as long as the show remains a cost-effective way of attracting new (young) fans, there's no reason to discontinue it. While I rather watch a good show than a bad one (you give good suggetions for improvements), I fear quality really is inferior to success. Okay, the sets: I'd say: count your blessings. Getting the "occasional gems" is good enough for me, and I don't see anything wrong buying only a few sets per wave. Let's not take the "occasional gems" for granted! I own a lot of LEGO, yet Ninjago has time and time again come up with cool new parts (and sets) worth having. If it can continue doing so, agian I see no reason to discontinue Ninjago. Finally, I agree with the others here that discontinuing Ninjago does not at all guarantee the return of original IPs. To live is to change, and that applies to LEGO and their line of products just as much.
  10. I did not have high expectations for this wave given the names, but I hoped the dojo would be good. Dojo turned out great and imo also has the best figure selection of the wave. Love that Pixal with her hair is included, that's fan service! The Ultra Combo Mech looks fun and has Niek van Slagmaat's Gurren Lagann obsession written all over it! The vehicles by themselves look better than those of the latest Ultra Sonic Raider, and more playful. Lloyd's dragon is cool, nice to see fabric wings again, and Jay's EVO racer is alright (but paired with an ugly helicopter), but the rest of the wave is nothing to write home about. Nice collectible banners though.
  11. Great spotting! Furthermore, there Violet's hair from The Incredibles, which I hope becomes available, and the mini shirt in black. Fingers crossed!
  12. That just ain't fair, is it?
  13. The release of a proper bard has taken surprisingly long, but I'm glad we'll be getting one! seconded!
  14. @Wenix this thread would be the right place: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/67887-help-with-identifying-partssets/ enough people with good ID skills there
  15. @BKu @Darkdragon Think it is this LEGO element: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=6044&idColor=3#T=C&C=3
  16. Btw, it's great to see the CMF category is ever so popular!
  17. This is the type of build that makes my heart skip a beat when I see it in my Flickr feed for the first time! With my eyes I wander from one interesting spot to the next; what a gorgeous piece of village! As others have said, great composition and a coherent style between the houses. All the more impressive that there is actually plenty of variation going on with the roofs and their orientation! Also, I think the bars you have on top of the roofs add quite a bit of visual interest. One other particular part use that is nice is the V-angle plates that make up part of the scaffolding at the water. Oh and I really like the pathway leading down to the shore, surrounded by a health amount of vegetation. All in all, this really has that sleepy remote village atmosphere. Btw, the irregular base is neat! However, it's also a bit enigmatic: what is the layer of dark green exactly? It would work for water because it's very smooth, but then what is the black? And finally: I suppose this is a bit south in Mitgardia and maybe not too far from the see, judging by the gull? Keep rocking, sir Louis!
  18. @NickLafreniere I feel similarly: hopeful. They picked up franchise that many people were actually wanting for years, plus a beautiful non-licensed project that was also quite popular in the comments. Of course, castle and modular fans would really like to see their call answered, but I think Ideas is not the place to expect that from right now.
  19. Yes, pretty much... There's really not much that has my interest. An affordable castle/viking/fantasy thing, I guess, but that's not going to happen. I bet the community would be cheering if Zelda would finally get approved, but I don't see that happening either. It's one big gamble anyway, and I'm feeling adventurous, so I'll place my bet on Steampunk Airship.
  20. Thanks! That use of axes was definitely a eureka moment. I intended them more as a magic seal or aura, rather than wings. Anyway, it's there to make him look powerful. Thank you! The Underworld and Cedrica weren't proposed expansions like Yureishima, but they were preexisting. Cedrica (also known as the Crownlands) is the province/territory where Historica's Throne is located and where the Queen lives, at the centre of Historica, in between all the (continental) Guilds. The Underworld is technically wherever you go deep into the earth, and it would seem logical to me that as you go deeper, the influence of the rule above grows weaker, so that for the most part it's its own thing. Thank you, socialbricks! I'm really happy those figs are so well-received, as well as the staff!
  21. Very solid entry! I like the figures on the front row in particular, plus the shield maiden! Btw, I didn't really get the comment on the second axe, until I saw it. Nicely done! Looks like the Mercenary Captain has been doing good business in the past; he's probably not the cheapest mercenary in town...
  22. Oof, you got me!
  23. Haha, one does not simply stop building, ey? Okay, thanks. I can see Madame Quarrat with an extra gemstone or something, or maybe a map with the mine site marked. I like the pose on Yffreya, but I reckon she would also look good holding the two swords pointing forward. For other figures you mentioned I could defend my choices, but I appreciate your elaboration.
