  1. @Roebuck @williejm Always make sure you have a sizable animal population, to prevent running into a genetic bottleneck situation! I've looked around in the new system a bit and I'm pleased that I can now browse by 'heads' and 'hairpieces' for example, that makes life easier. In general I don't see a big drop in availability of things, although it's annoying that some part images seem to be gone. I hope that's temporary? Anyway, (impatiently) waiting for my order from end January to ship... It has some parts for finalizing a MOC I've had for a while. Should have chosen Bricklink I guess...
  2. Simplified? Do you mean: made to conform to official LEGO building standards? Because I don't see how the tree house or blacksmith are otherwise ‘simplified’. Agreeing with @Lyichir, these are much closer to Creator expert than to City and I see nothing wrong with that. I can understand how a brighter colour scheme could ruin the vibe for fans of less vibrant colour schemes though, and I'd say it is indeed likely that they will throw in at least one bright accent colour. But maybe some colour modding could solve that, we'll have to wait and see.
  3. Glad to see the A-frame approved! Nice love letter to the outdoor and off-grid lifestyle. BTS is easy money indeed, and in line with the 'exploring new markets' philosophy of IDEAS. I had a bit of hope for the medieval harbour actually, and the movie set seemed great, but I imagine these would take a great deal of developing time and effort, being such large and multifaceted builds.
  4. Thanks for your compliments! "Cozy industrial" is now a genre I want to build in more, haha! The octagonal shape was a challenge indeed, and it's unfortunately under a bit of tension. I didn't close the ring on the back so to speak, because that would put it really under stress. Thanks, mate! :D
  5. The global energy transition is starting to pick up steam. Offshore wind farms are being rolled out in shallow seas across the world. Because fishing within wind farms is often restricted or prohibited, these farms have the potential to become true wildlife sanctuaries. How will marine life develop and colonize the new underwater landscape, formed by the windturbines? Only one way to find out: science! Wind farm maintenance & research station The research station sits on a concrete caisson pillar, and is integrated into a windturbine. It features a general viewing platform, a drone landing pad and a larger platform with crane, for loading supplies and equipment onto or off the station. The station can only accommodate two crew members (researchers or technicians) at most and is not permanently operated. A researcher has fallen into the river in LEGO city lowered the water sampling device on the platform. From it she will collect the sample and analyse it on-site, for physical-chemical parameters, algae content, and possible pollutants. --- I hope you enjoyed this little bit of backstory. I built this as an entry to a Vestas Facebook challenge, where the premise was to create a creative windturbine with LEGO or other materials. I had been wanting to step into modern/industrial/futurism creations for a while already, so this was a fun excuse to get my feet wet. The turbine and crane can turn, the turbine blades spin smoothly and the building has an interior, as you can see below: Thanks for looking! C&C always appreciated!
  6. @Chopper Bricks Thanks so much! Will check out the canopies!
  7. Yes, definitely an ethical thing. Even if some zoos contribute to education and conservation programmes, I think TLG wants to stay clear of them alltogether. @Merlo Current Ideas doesn’t work? Constant dissappointment? The minority of the buying audience follows the input and outcome of Ideas directly (that's us), and I think most people are excited for the Ideas releases. They still sell. @Roebuck Right? Some newly available stuff would be nice. Secondhand prices will otherwise continue to rise... @karmajay The stadiums were the least anticipated sets in the Brickset polls, that's some form of evidence.
  8. Thanks for sharing! I wonder what it will be, maybe bulk buy discount? Or a page with the new pieces listed?
  9. Seems like the dojo is in high demand. I was at LEGO Store Wijnegem (Belgium) on Monday, where it was the only set missing from the wave, aside from the spinners and training grounds. The manager told me they sold out rapidly, admittedly he'd been a bit overwhelmed by the popularity.
  10. Impressive build, a lot to take in! The farmhouse itself looks great with the tudor look, textured walls, and especially that protruding attic! Bold decision to go with lime and red (lime can easily mess up a colour scheme, imo), but you've made it work! That's a compliment for the rest of the build as well: your colour management is stellar! I want to call out the beehives which do so much work for the overall balance! I'm drooling over the dense vegetation; the flower beds, the crops, the bushes; it all could have easily been a mess, but it isn't! Love the subtle and realistic variations in green in the base, highlighting the level of sunlight exposure the spots get! That's great stuff! The irregular base and stone pathways are solid work too. Also like the big compost bin and round 'growing pits'. For criticism, I have two points. First one: the roof of the water well, which has an odd colour and texture choice, imo. I think a red, less smooth roof (perhaps similar to the farmhouse) would have worked better. Second, the archery group: a little splash of imbalance in an otherwise harmonic scene. Aside from the 'mixing yellows with fleshies' debate (which is a matter of personal taste), I don't see the need for a crowd in this scene, because the farm sells itself. Three archers or less would have been sufficient, imo. And be aware of green figures against a green background. All in all, great job! Looking forward to your next builds!
  11. GoH kids grow up! Congrats!! Also congrats to the others! This sure was one hell of a competition pool!
  12. The stilt walker and fire breather are fantastic! Interesting to see the CMF bases mended together with wedge plates!
  13. It's always nice to see Guildies collaborate, and an intercontinental collab is even more special! Good job coordinating the jousting ground. @Sympatik Brick Classy figures and a proper stand for them. I like that you went with a dark green roof. @Eyrezer Certainly a big contrast, as was the premise of the category. There's an appropriate mess, but maybe a bit too much. The crowd is very diverse and colourful, individually I see some good combos. And thanks for the credit on the the enhanced microfigs.
  14. That's two hot spring builds in short succession, that's quite unique. Anyway, I like the variation in the water with the lighter and darker tones. The wooden scaffold looks appropriate, and the orange foiliage is original, though a bit odd that it grows over bare rock. Nice angle for the building.
  15. This is such a fresh build, and great in a number of ways! You nailed the nature part: from the snow, to rockwork; the steaming water and the sulphurous gas, well done! The keetorange a great addition to the overall colour palette, too! But the Varana and the shrine-like part take this to a higher level! Great posing, and a custom fantasy race done right, plus I love the 'echo' of golden accents. The only thing that looks a bit odd to me is the skeleton arm on a clip, but otherwise a lovely build!
  16. Seems like fantasy creations are back on the menu in Avalonia! Props for working with the dark orange and baloon pieces! Nice cauldron, and the cloth pieces are a perfect fit for this type of build. The vegetation on the front is great, actually would have liked to see that on the back as well because the dark tan doesn't work as well as the greens and browns in this setting. Keep it up! P.s. this reminds me of a build I did way back! :)
  17. Interesting angled stairs and doors, for me those are the best part! Some parts of the build are a bit rough, but on the other parts are very smooth, such as the columns made with the top-rounded 1x1's.
  18. Fun entry, Dan! The Royal Guard immediately draws the attention with his fabulous armour and NPU Mandalorian helmet! I like the Fire Mage and Dwarven Miner too. The Immortal baker is a real goofball, but I bet the cloth hides some clever construction to attach all those arms. The Ssssserpentine Teacsssssher issss perhapsssss jussssssst the man we need in the Zotharith Ssssschool for Magicsss. (snake-speak ever get old? ). The Blue Knight is an inspired one, the detailed torso and leg prints work very well together, also with the gap in the chest armour, and I kind of wish that fine detail would carry on (more) at the head and shield. Maybe some menacing glowing eyes or just a regular head would have looked good, and a Lion knight shield? Cool concept, though.
  19. Seems like I never commented! Solid figures, and props for trying a digital figbarf, I think that's a first here in GoH! My favourite of the bunch has to be Aran of Albion too, love the abacus made with the LotR rings! Great technique for the Paladin of the Skull as well! Cheers, mate!
  20. Hi, I think this is supposed to go in the Historic Themes forum, not Guilds of Historica (the role-building game). Also, maybe reduce the size of your images a bit? They seem large and loaded slowly for me. 🤷‍♂️

  22. Consider it done! New thread: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/188826-lego-dots-2022/
  23. By popular request, a new thread for a new year of Dots! LEGO Dots 2022 Lets's start with some of the new releases: 41946: Extra DOTS – Series 6 41944: Candy Kitty Bracelet & Bag Tag 41952: Large Message Board 41949: Creative keyrings Like last year, aside from the assortment of bracelets, colourful little tiles and printed decorations, the theme brings us some innovations: charm elements, keyrings and wall signs. And also: translucent quarter circle tiles! Will you be picking up any of the sets? Is the theme worth more than the sum of its parts to you? Do you think the wall signs are low-key LEGO Art sets, or are Art sets just fancy Dots sets? Discuss!
