Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
gamejutzu replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I wouldn't say that... I say if you twist up the story even more, you can get what really happened. I'd say that over here, Squiffy and Bucko got jobs as window wipers, cooks, and ship cleaners. But they were terrible at their jobs, so they always got fired. And then they came to Nadakhan to work for Piracy. Also someone said you can find Nuckal and Kruncha in this one, can anyone see them?- 4,591 replies

Who is your favorite Ninjago villain?
gamejutzu replied to Master_Data's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yup, Morro's minifigure is definitely the best looking. It's so detailed, with a black and green cloth, which is also seen in the two-step hoods. I also liked how his torso is basically Lloyd's. However i'd think the best personality goes to Nadakhan. Because, it's only implied that Pythor went through terrible things in his lifetime. We all know how Nadakhan's feeling. Besides, he get the most consecutive screen time, and I feel like I grasped his personality more easily than I did Pythor's. I still like Pythor better though. My favorite villain still remains the one and only Cryptor. Sure, in recent showings he is a security droid, but he looks amazing in that white outfit. Besides, he survived Nadakhan's attacks, so that says something. Can't wait to see his showings in the next season. -
Foe me, i'm split. My favorites are the Ice Spider, the Snowmobile, or the Tread Assault. The Ice Spider isn't canon but it still looks cool. I like how it's a mechanized crawler- I don't see that too often. I also liked how it used those Bionicle-looking pieces. I'd say the Snowmobile isn't as cool looking though. However, the Snowmobile was the most used vehicle in the Year of The Snakes season, and Zane definitely puts it to good use there XD The Tread Assault however, takes the cake for set design. I really liked it's spike and rollover functions and was genuinely surprised when it fell off my table, landed on it's wheels, and turned the cockpit to face upwards (it's how I found out it could do that). All these are in my top three, but I can't decide whether I think the Tread or the Snowmobile is cooler..

Hm? I don't understand.

I believe the building in the Ninjago section of Legoland is supposed to represent the Monastery of Spinjitzu, it looks extremely accurate to the real thing. I dunno. Zane's arms, head, and mask are chrome/silver metallic, while his torso and legs are grey (the garb). I'd say that's a 50-50 or 40-60 split. Better wait until we see the Airjitzu Battle Grounds though. I've got a feeling that set will be my favorite (also, bandana Kai and bandana Lloyd have got to be in it...) Just saw the X Cave. It looks nice. However, I'm a bit disappointed that the skull is white instead of tan. Maybe Nya renovates it? Also, look over to where the straw hat and double swords are. Does one of those swords look strange to you?

Likely, and by the way it's been described that one time (The LEGO Movie in a Ninja world), it may be.

Nah, the focus is on the characters, who also happen to be school students. And a lot of movies and such have prophecies as well. The only actual magic using characters in Ninjago are sorcerers like Clouse, and on a lesser scale, Pythor. However, if the parody theory is actually correct, than we will be seeing parodies of lots more films and such, than just Harry Potter. Especially Cole with his new ghost scar and all...

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
gamejutzu replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Exactly what I thought. Looks like you ninja'd me as well with that video link. This story seems less of a tall tale and more like what actually happened. Only thing that makes it a tall tale is the actual island. To be honest, I think Dogshank's story would actually fit into the canon better than her just wanting to be pretty. Her trying to be the best, can create some internal feelings like hatred, anger, etc. while just being beautiful is more of an arrogant mistake. Also, Clancee described Wretch's backstory differently than this mini-movie. This may mean that the tall tale of Dogshank might be canon too, and Clancee just has shoddy memory or something. - Also, I found the Year of The Snakes episode recaps to be labelled "season 2" on the LEGO Channel. It hasn't been deleted or anything either...- 4,591 replies

That's definitely correct, as Lego games deliver great amounts of fanservice that can be found n where else. Lego games honestly are doing amazing in every other field (or so I think). Their graphics keep up with the systems, the cutscenes are awesome, and the easter eggs are worth every second spent trying to find it. But there's something that needs to be added to this cake we have here, if you know what I mean.

I wouldn't be surprised if they called that the gold digger or something like that... If these weapons had names... That's what bugs me about Ninjago. The ninja use no weapons in the show, and if they do they're the basic weapons. However in the sets, they have all these elaborate blades and such... I'd like to see weapons return soon... I really like all these weapon combos they make with their magazines, all in just a few pieces. It's also interesting how they gave away Cole twice...
-
Correct. However, I think that the former will likely occur, as places like IGN are starting to get on their case more often. LD and Lego Batman 3 received 7s, and The Hobbit obviously received a 7 as well. Lego Marvel's Avengers got almost a 7 too. While many people disliked these reviews, they can't support this kind of gameplay forever. We've been seeing almost no innovative gameplay changes for over a decade. I personally think the people will speak first.

Hogwarts? What influence could that have? I don't see any link between Hogwarts, Ninjago, and even the Ninjago movie. I'm willing to bet that if it is going to be a parody, it will either be a parody of those huge prophecy movies, or stereotypical action/martial arts/blockbuster movies.

Raid Zeppelin or Jay's Elemental Dragon?
gamejutzu replied to novareb's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Just call it the Swag Zeppelin now... All it needs is Doubloon with golden sunglasses... XD To be honest, Clancee is a better fig in my eyes than any other human samurai pirate. It adds variation to here and makes it, "not just any regular pirate squad". Besides, every crew needs a sweeper. I was dissapointed with the lack of space there is here compared to the thought I had in my head when I read "Raid Zeppelin" off the set lists... I'm thinking of modifying it to have more space. Anyone wanna share some tips on how to do that? The internal build will be damaged if I do it wrong, and it'll end up looking worse than when it had little space... -
I find it very impressive, how realistic the LDD builds can look. If you hadn't put the LDD caption, I would have though you built it yourself. Is Mecabricks for only rendering, or can you build stuff there as well?
-
Nice one. It could be Kai facing his fear of failure, at everyone surpassing him and mocking him... I wonder, do you watch the TV show? Because when I clicked into this, I was expecting Kai to be drowning or something.
-
It is?? Wow, I thought I was caught up with development news... Do you think the CMF series will feature the elemental masters like Ash and Shade?
-
Hmm.... Why didn't you pick it up yourself? Even if you already have the set, you may be able to give to someone here instead of someone else taking it if you had it. It's not gonna stay there forever. I'm with Exetrius, if any Nya variant looks beautiful, it's Kabuki Nya. Isn't the Ninjago movie going to have a CMF series? I doubt it'll only be restricted to the ninja, as there's around 10 figs in a CMF wave... Maybe the elemental masters will appear there?
-
Yeah I guess, but I meant that you actually had the option to go straight to the open world. I myself have only ran into a few glitches in my game, don't know why everyone says there's a lot... And I only found a few and not like two because I 100%ed it twice. Well yeah, i'm looking forward to the game when Lego games will have CGI-level graphics in their cutscenes and maybe even in-game. However, I only see graphic improvements, etc. (by etc, I mean a neat gimmick that makes the game more slick or something). What i'm really wondering, is when will it change? Only two things can happen from here: One, more and more people will complain, and two, LEGO will actually make innovative mechanics. I wonder which will come first. -_ - I wonder, does fan-demand have an effect on what figs are added into LD? For example, if people request General Cryptor nonstop, will he be added into the game?
-
Do you remember the retro games? Yeah. They shouldn't be too hard, I just dislike how hand-holdy games are these days. Besides, I've got no issue with the open world being accessible at any time. That's what I liked about LMSH, how slick the transitions were compared to other games. I think that the hand-held (puns for days) games do the trick. Those are significantly more challenging than console games for some odd reason (however, there are exceptions, like Nindroids).

Giant robots? Sounds like the final story arc of Bionicle with Makuta as a continent. I'm liking it so far! Besides, the kaiju reference was quite vague. Maybe there's another Ninjago ancient legend? (I love those). This one could be about two mythical beings at war, one light and one darkness, who've slept for years. The ninja may need to help, and the team may even be split on which deity to defend. There could be a war waged as well, with darkness minions turning the sky black or something. Or the giant robot could be the Overlord or Garmadon returning. Either way, giant ancient robots sound good to me. Add some techno and i'm hooked.

That Cyren polybag.. Is that a golden arrow?? Nah, there's no problem with that, I think. With Nya being the secondary protagonist of this season, plus how she is receiving a new ninja suit in the next wave, She'll probably be included in something soon. Chill, I meant that a lot of people look at minifigs when considering buying a set, since as someone said, there's quality all around. Oh... deletes ten rows of pictures _ There are shameless shots of the summer figs everywhere, would like to see some sets as well...

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
gamejutzu replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
We'e got the rest of the year, so why not? And with the Ninjago movie in a few years, this year would be kinda boring without any new Ninjago content. And if we do get a new season, here's hoping it's more than ten episodes this time. Even an extra episode will help the season feel more grounded and natural... Besides, they have the budget to make 13 or so episodes... Right?- 4,591 replies

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
gamejutzu replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Wow, that is some nice cover art. I never knew where they came from... However, even so, I do explicitly remember when LEGO or Cartoon Network referred to the first years of Ninjago, skipping one season number. I saw it in video titles. I just assumed that it meant the first episodes and the minimovies combined into season one. A lot of people agree with this. I have yet to find these (probably deleted) videos, but I will, eventually. Also, I've been seeing some fanart and memes for Ninjago on Tumblr recently, and honestly, I've never laughed harder at the similarities they (literally) drew. If only the rest of the fanbase was like this...- 4,591 replies

Correct, however improved graphics and minor animations will not have a major effect on the gameplay itself. So what if there's a new attack animation? This will not change the overall gameplay. However, mechanics that are more than just simple button pressing would be better. Again, i'm not saying to make the next Lego game completely different. I'm just saying that LEGO should get out of their shells and try out gameplay mechanics that will still make it look like a Lego game. The next LD patch may work for this purpose, because it can't have the same gameplay over and over, it will get repetitive.

The LEGO Movie... and the Super Bowl?!
gamejutzu replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Not even Americans are football fans Tbh general interest in football seems to be slipping, with videos like these helping it stay afloat from becoming the next baseball.
