If they give the players a means of damaging others, it will not be conventional. Maybe they'd pick up special weapons (i hope it's dodgeballs ) like some sort of online game. and you'd have to dodge whatever it is they throw at you. maybe even build defenses? I also hope they'd utilize the key abilities of characters. Like you jumping from platform to platform dodging fire, or using stealth to get through to a secret area with an item. I'd like to see Zane doing parkour to while he's being fired at, or Batman using his grapple hook to get to a secret area.

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
gamejutzu replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I was pretty surprised when I saw that. We usually get the sets, piece the story together, then wait months before the season airs, where people get angsty waiting to see if their theories were true. LEGO is releasing villain throwback videos, in preparation for the new season. Pretty much all of them are out, but only three are in English, and it took a week for the third to come in English. Aren't these already recorded in English? Why not release these first instead of dubs in other languages? Unless Ninjago was actually dubbed this entire time, I don't know why this happens.- 4,591 replies

I got jumpscared by the picture when the page was loading It's a cool build I guess. But one thing bothers me, and that's the tree behind him. That branch and the leaf cluster next to it, look very strange. Are we going to get any show content at SDCC? Like a sneak peek similar to last season?

I myself have low hopes for that happening. The Frozen Wastelands have almost no relevance in the show anymore. The last time it appeared, since 2011, was in the game, Shadow of Ronin, where the ninja were actually inside the Ice Temple. But that game isn't canon to the show. And there are other ice areas that the ninja go to, more often than the Glacier Barrens.

I don't think you can actually fight each other in the battle arenas, as ironic as that sounds. The combat in Lego games is extremely simple, even for games of it's type and range. If there were actual fights you'd just be mashing square or B for a few minutes. To compensate for it's nonexistent fighting mechanics, the battle arena would likely rather consist of mini-games, like racing, capture the flag, paintball, and other sorts of activities.

Oh right, character development. lol Yeah, but for basing the movie off the TV show, they're gonna need to make the events different than what we saw in the show, and it looks like that's what they're doing. This reminds me of Sonic, and how that franchise has a spin off series, with redesigns and a different tone and setting. I hope that the movie tries to go for something like that, and not have the movie overtake the main series.

To be fair, they could justify the movie versions of figures, as they're from different universes and based off different things. And they may look pretty different from the original, especially in Ninjago's case.

Well, if this movie is a parody like the other two movies, than it's safe to assume that this movie is a parody of a ninja/action movie. We could see more classic elements like stealth and weapons. But after the first movie, it's likely that people will go and see the TV show. And then they'll know that Nya's a samurai, or that Zane is a cyborg. Comics have been running for decades, so it's always interesting to see how the wheel is reinvented. But here there's pretty much just 64 episodes and a few non-canon books. I can't really explain this well, but the shock or nostalgia of finding that Zane is an android, or that Nya becomes a ninja (which happened recently) isn't really there.

The temple in the summer wave does not belong to Cole. It's called the Airjitzu Battle Grounds, and It's likely just an abandoned temple wreck that Sensei Yang possesses. Just because Cole is the main character this season (hence his face on the box), does not mean that the temple is his. Secondly, the purple ninja has been a popular discussion topic since 2011. Several people have made LDD versions of the Purple Ninja. This wasn't just from one guy, everyone talked about the Purple Ninja. And the Purple ninja has already appeared in the TV show. You said you don't watch it, so you think this is because LEGO decided to with no other reason. He's here because he appeared in the show. And he's in the show because the developers knew how popular the Purple Ninja is. And besides, again, there already is a shrine/temple for Zane. It's called the Frozen Wastelands/The Glacier Barrens, and it appeared in the first episode of Ninjago...

Nice. Kind of weird it will be airing (presumably in the US) alongside the sets with good timing... It's never happened. That is a really nice outfit. But that face is so inaccurate I want to keep it on the alternate expression forever...

To be fair, a lot of those franchises didn't feel right for battle packs... Wait... RIP Ninjago battle arena

"Kai's sister" doesn't really count as much of an identity. But she is seen in a lot of disguises. I guess she could just be the fighter with no powers (explaining the "blank" black color as red and blue is too expressive), or the normal mechanic.

um no I don't think so. They just gave an example. Alright, topic is off. ... But wassn't there already CW content in Lego Batman 3? Unless you want Flash, Titans, etc. ? There are so many opportunities for interactions that it would be a serious shame if they didn't. I have a feeling that there will be

But what you might not know, is that sometimes the story has a plot in which the ninja are in a position where they cannot use their dragons. Like one time their dragons migrated to mature themselves. And other times, they are left powerless. I do agree, that dragons are some of the best Lego things to build. But I don't recall them ever disappearing? When did that happen?

I can only hope it's a Ninjago game for consoles... It can't be Nexo Knights, as it would probably get handhelds like Chima and Ninjago did. As for licensed franchises, I can't think of anything, as they're all in Dimensions. That makes me think of the original franchises, and i'm only left with Friends/Elves (which would probably also get handhelds), and another City game? I'm at a loss at guessing what it could be.
-
You have a point there. But what else could they be? If their powers are any different, it would significantly downgrade the character, not just in strength, but overall appeal of the ninja.
-
Oh. While I was looking back, I could only count 7, whoops Never understood why Rebooted only had 8 anyway...

I guess they were just trying to estimate when Minecraft came out. I doubt they thought it was actually released in 2006, as you said. Games would start to look good at least 2 years later though. However, the pre-Minecraft was released in 2009, if that helps.

Maybe they are trying to give Nya a simpler design. Maybe people will think it's weird if Nya doesn't have a consistent color. I think we can all agree that Cole in black is much better, but for me brown Cole is okay. But what's really weird is the black Nya. Not very water-y. Jay could be yellow, and Nya could be blue. I dunno

This is easily the best outfit. The suit is all shades of black, even the emblem! I also love how he has two leg ornaments, plus a useful hip piece, while the others didn't get any in your face! Yup. And story-wise, it went in the wrong direction for me. Firstly, I have no idea why there were only 8 episodes, they could have pushed it to 10, or better yet, 13 like the good old days. Also, I thought the anacondrai were lacking. I think it would've also been cool to make there be human-anacondrai hybrids, like the humans with white scales. Nope. No plot point. None of them died (yes, none of them), and we see Skylor, an elemental master, at least once every season after. At least we know they have a chance of coming out now.

The game has a lot of work to do. Also, the fan demand is still huge. People want a FPB (first person builder), and for the game to not be so cluttered.
-
I commend those magazines for very interesting weapon design. But it looks like they got a little lazy with this one, not gonna lie...
-
You saw the whole show? That's kind of interesting if you still have questions. Ninjago itself is a complete 200% extreme hardcore reboot of the original theme, Ninja. But if you mean after Rebooted, then it's just a continuation. Also, this should be in Media and Gaming.
-
Really now? Well this should be interesting then. Do they sound younger? After all, in this universe, they are in high school.
-
Yup, since you don't normally don't imagine plastic figures needing food of all things to survive, it just wouldn't feel right for an all-Lego game.
