  1. If you watch the Brickshow video review you will see why. I've never been put off buying a set I've desired more in my life. If the head stability issue on all the sets is anything like the example in that video then I don't know how it got approved for release. True, most buyers want it for display instead of play but stability is one of their main QC criteria. I hope they fix it, and soon.
  2. Cool commercial, cheers. Kylo Ren's shuttle still looks like a dog's breakfast in my eyes though. The random array of plate undersides and 2 x 2 round plates with round bottoms on the inside of the wings are plain ugly!
  3. Ok. At risk of micro-modding I will try this one more time. You may not have a personal responsibility to enforce TLG's embargo but you do have a responsibility to adhere to the rules of this forum, which was my point if you read my posts carefully. If you still don't get it then read the member guidelines (the link is on page 1), particularly the part about not promoting yourself by linking to reviews/MOCs etc on other sites. Frankly I don't care if you make money from advertisements or not.
  4. I never suggested you did anything illegal. However, the retailer you "and your buddy" purchased it from have broken the embargo. I'm sure the information you have provided though will lead TLG's legal team in the right direction to conduct their enquiries. What I am suggesting is that you, knowing full well that an embargo is in place until sept. 4, have used EB to promote traffic to your website knowing that a large number of people here are chomping at the bit to get any info regarding the new sets. Pleading ignorance? Seriously? Then I suggest you read the rules on the first page of this forum again.
  5. Then I suggest you delete the posts blatantly promoting a personal website that has a full review (with pics) of a yet to be released TFA set. I would imagine TLG will be asking serious questions and I'm pretty certain EB doesn't want to be in the firing line when that happens!
  6. There is lots of stuff to get excited about in that Hasbro catalogue. Budgeting for the onslaught of new 'toys' is going to cause some grief. The First Order Star Destroyer looks awesome. I hope Lego decide to give it the UCS treatment! Even if TLG had factories from here to every planet in a galaxy far, far away I doubt they will be able to keep up with demand for the run up to Christmas. Delay it and you will probably miss out. I think the early release of toys will be a good yardstick for just how much hype the movie will generate come Dec.
  7. Is there any chance the Threepio polybag will be a promotional gift with Star Wars Lego purchases from Force Fri? One can hope at least.
  8. I'm excited for polybag Threepio! Protocol droid variants have a special place in my minifig collection. Yes, it would be even more awesome if he was chrome gold but nevertheless that printing looks amazing.
  9. I think you may broken the first rule of EB Lego Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors fight club. Do not mention set names or prices in Lego Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors fight club. Unless of course it's after Sept. 4 in which case it no longer belongs in Lego Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors fight club.
  10. Great review! I love this set so much and I think it's cool that the original Ideas design is from the lead animator on the movie. I agree with what the reviewer said about the shiny newness of the model not being entirely accurate. I only wish Lego would do "aged" or non-monochromatic pieces. I dare not mention a rival brand here but there is one Canadian company does it very well to create authenticity in their collector sets ; ) I suspect Aussie pricing will be in the $70-$80 AUD range...still extremely good value IMO. Shipping will be the killer though unless the $200 AUD free shipping threshold is reached.
  11. Nice job BrickBuilder14. I think I may have let out a little squeal when I woke up to those gorgeous high res pictures this morning! I knew they would leak before Sept. 4. It would be an easy mod to replace those 1 x 3 and 2 x 4 plates on Rey's Speeder with tiles.
  12. It appears to have been removed. I suspect it went live prematurely. If the Sept. 1 release date is true then I hope we get an official reveal video from TLG soon!
  13. Haha, that sounds familiar. I love the irony that kids keep us away from the toy store! Mine tell me off whenever I buy more Lego except when it's for them. I suspect images will get leaked beforehand though...surely the supply chain can't be that watertight.
  14. I get why people say "wouldn't it cool if they did EVE" but there really isn't any detail to work with. As such I think it would be pretty boring.
  15. Fantastic job! That was probably my favorite scene of the trailers so far...Star Destroyers are so epic, even when half buried in sand.
  16. Wow, it's way bigger than I thought it would be. Pardon my ignorance but does anyone know how to do an English translation of the review?
  17. Yep, that really puts the 'value' side of the equation into perspective! I thought maybe size might explain it but it doesn't...the Sith Infiltrator and Shuttle Tydirium are similar in size (one is roughly as long as the other is high). Lots of expensive large plates? I can see this being heavily discounted, and fast. Can you imagine how many kids ignore it on the shelves once the TFA sets are out and they want the cool ship or character they saw in TFA.
  18. Its amazing the level of detail you managed in a minifig scale MOC that is true to the UCS version. Its also very generous of you to provide the LDD file to the community. Fantastic!
  19. Nice little MOC. The use of Deadpool's torso to get some detailing in the armor is very cool : )
  20. Nokturn, I'm genuinely sorry if I've contributed to your distress, that was not the intention. As I said previously, I'm happy to agree to disagree on an opinion..and move on. But you must understand why your views were considered inflammatory and evoked the response it did? From a personal point of view it's not that I don't want to see pictures or new information about upcoming sets, I'm as excited as everyone else. But I don't think Lego (and by extension Disney and Lucasfilm) are making a mistake by not pre-releasing official images, nor do I believe consumers have the right to demand it. There is enough leaked information about TFA sets to make informed "budget" decisions already. For example, I already have the last MF and therefore will not be purchasing the new one, thus allowing me to spend that money on other sets. As others have said threatening to leave the forum shouldn't be your response. It's only going to leave you with lingering resentment and you will loose a rich source of information and opposing views (which is a good thing) on a hobby that you are clearly passionate about. Peace.
  21. Stunning as always Markus. There are too many highlights to name them all but a few of my favorites are the SNOT courtyard, the Japanese style garden, the trees and R2 & Threepio : ) I think you should have won that round!
  22. Then I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. Personally I think there are too many premature "e-brickulators" - people wanting instant gratification via electronic images of sets that are close to release. But hey, if we all had the same opinion then we wouldn't be discussing it on this forum : )
  23. Here, here Ultron. Finally, a voice of reason! Does Disney/Lego want people to go out buy all the Ep. VII sets on force Friday? Of course. I grew up with the OT and I'm just glad Disney has provided the opportunity for my kids to share the same sense of wonder that I did as a kid, and continue to do so. If someone goes into a store and impulsively buys all the sets on the day of release that they later regret (for whatever reason) that's hardly Disney's fault, or responsibility. Even if you do have buyer remorse Lego have one of the best returns policy in the business...you can even return opened sets for store credit within 90 days from purchase (policies may vary by region). Like most others reading this thread I love it when we get teasers of upcoming sets, whether it's official or unofficial. But Disney and/or Lego do not have a responsibility to us as consumers to pre-release information, that's just a bonus when it happens : )
  24. Very cool. It's amazing how much more impact the logo has when you view by itself rather than on the corner of a box that has so many other elements vying for your attention!
