  1. The point was that Ponda exists to have his arm cut off, vs. main characters who are bigger than that. All I'm saying is there will be many broken Ponda arms.
  2. A character that is known for losing his arm might not be great for a Lego set where removing arms off mini-figs too many times usually results in breaking the arm piece completely.
  3. It's not rumored to be UCS, just system scale.
  4. Personally I would love it. It bothers me a little buying a set knowing in 3-6 years after it's retired it will likely be reimagined with better pieces, better figures, etc. It's great they are improving and giving new generations a chance to buy the sets...but boy do my old sets look subpar compared to the new ones. It's the main reason I've moved to UCS sets (and even those are vulnerable to replacement due to the new UCS X-Wing...I'm now looking at you, UCS Falcon). If I had my way 2015 would be the last year and they'd give us the largest LEGO set ever in a new Cloud City as a send off. I don't see it ending anytime soon though. Disney will milk this series even harder than Lucas did to get max return on the investment. Plenty of new movies coming out along with cartoons, so there will always be new content to pull from assuming Disney and TLG are both making money on the arrangement. Kind of a shame, because even though it's hard to believe, people WILL get sick of Lego Star Wars if you push the merchandise too hard for too long.
  5. The worst part is that they didn't finish all the planets. I thought about paying 3x the cost to get them from Europe, but I won't have Dagobah, so what's the point? Hoth also appears to have a big orange dot on both half circles, which is unappealing.
  6. Well that's a $300 set...a lot of people can't afford that. But I agree that the droids aren't needed, especially because they weren't allowed in the bar. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Chewie as a possible minifig. TLG loves putting him in everything they can.
  7. I'm not sure if they're going to make this a UCS set given the rumored 7XXXX numbering. It may just be a very large system set like the Ewok village.
  8. As said by many here, unless you plan on building this in space, there's no way it wouldn't collapse under its own weight. It'd be great if LDD had stress detection but oh well. Still, pulling this off in LDD is an accomplishment of its own, great job.
  9. The cantina is exactly as I expected, because TLG is never going to make the bar centerpiece it needs. These sets are for kids, they aren't going to build a bar scene. Your best bet is to buy this set for the figures and use other pieces to complete the scene.
  10. I still feel like TLG is moving away from guns that look like guns. Remember that this is a kids product, and guns are being talked about a lot these days. Don't be surprised if/when guns are completely phased out of all lines for futuristic-looking flick fire that look nothing like guns in the real world.
  11. Micro fighters should sell better than the Planets line and they'll take up less shelf space. I liked the planet line better though, and am annoyed that a) TLG left the NA market high and dry on Series 4. They should have at least sold them online for NA. b). No Dagobah was ever made. TLG should finish what they started, and make them online-exclusive.
  12. Iconic for being a disappointment. I blame Lucas and all the "yes men" he surrounded himself with. To be completely fair it would have been extremely difficult to match the OT but it is what it is. Anyways, the OT gets a lot of big summer sets and the majority of UCS so there's nothing to complain about here. It's the Winter line, sets are normally small. Everyone also needs to remember that there's a generation of kids that prefers the PT/CW and they need their sets as well.
  13. "Some simple logic ruled out the Cloud City and voila " I'm not seeing the simple logic. 1. The DS has been rumored to be retired for years now. 2. The Slave I will probably be in the $200 range and the Executor will be departing, leaving a $400 hole on the shelves to fill. 3. The Slave I fits so very well with Cloud City. 4. TLG is in this business to make money. Why continue to hold off on something that will sell incredibly well?
  14. Feels like yesterday we had an System AT-AT, but then again, they aren't discontinued long. We've already had, what, three versions? I'm still thinking if I want a true UCS AT-AT I'll have to get the instructions for one of the excellent MOCs on this site, I don't know if TLG will ever take the financial risk needed for a truly great one (5500+ pieces) If the Slave I is the big UCS set (and I hope so, I'd like it to be to scale to the UCS Falcon) then it sounds like the Sandcrawler would be a remake of the old set and nothing compared to the cuusoo version. Which means I'd have to MOC that as well.
  15. The UCS Slave 1 should come with extra pieces / stickers so you can build either the Jango or the Boba version. If not, there's no way it'll be anything but the Boba version. Have a feeling we'll be seeing the Slave I in the new movies.
  16. Agreed. UCS AT-AT 3000+ pieces, replaces UCS Super Star Destroyer on the shelves. UCS Slave I ~1500 pieces, replaces UCS R2-D2 and/or UCS B-wing on the shelves.
  17. Hopefully an AT-AT or Sandcrawler then. I really want a UCS Slave I, but it's not exactly big. I will always welcome a Falcon remake as well.
  18. I'm just saying a Kashyyyk Trooper Clone Scout Trooper is a very obscure character...personally I can barely remember them. I was too busy looking at all the Wookies. Most anyone looking at your collection wouldn't notice anything wrong with them, they would just wonder why that trooper was green. It's not worth nitpicking over that stuff when no one else will notice the errors.
  19. We all need to relax and remember the big picture. It's something spawned from the prequels, so it doesn't really matter. No one but huge SW fans will even know what it's from, so any faults will only be noticed by you. That said, the only big fault is the helmet looks comically huge. I can't tell if it actually IS huge or if the visor makes it look that way. Any new news on the rumored UCS Slave I?
  20. This is great, but not $250 great. Will be waiting for a sale. It's really disappointing they didn't make Force ghosts, this was THE set they should appear in. Then again, they would have made a Hayden Force ghost and I would have thrown up a little.
  21. But then it doesn't mean anything because we can lie. As it stands I have the largest army here...200,000 minifigs and 7,000 vehicles. Got some great shots of them all but don't like to upload pics.
  22. How did you miss out? The Death Star is still for sale on Lego's website. I wonder when they're going to discontinue it, if ever.
  23. Yeah, I really hope they don't do that. I have AT-STs. I have speeders. Building those takes away pieces from the trees, which need to be somewhat impressive. These are Redwoods we're talking about, if the trees are dinky then it's kind of stupid. Let's also get some unique characters: -Force ghost transparent molds with old Anakin (not Hayden, Sebastian Shaw) -Forest maiden Leia -Lando in new clothes -All new Ewoks, no repeats from other sets If you want Rebels and Imperials, they have a battle pack you can buy right now. Don't waste unique character slots on retreads TLG! If I'm paying over $200 for this, I don't want a bunch of repeated vehicles and characters. I have so many Chewbaccas and R2-D2s I could drown in them.
  24. That's how I feel...I wish they would have attacked a different area myself. $200 for some trees and new Ewoks doesn't excite me a whole lot...now a Cloud City or Cantina? I'd pay a lot for that.
  25. Could they? It's just a picture. When I build my 4 UCS sets later this year I plan on scanning their DSS's and making my own stickers, the DSS is too valuable to use. If someone wants to setup guidelines that'd be great.
