Yeah, I question how well the last Slave I sold. Granted, this would be a different color scheme, but I think TLG might hold out a while. Personally I hope the next Slave I is of the UCS variety, it's the most iconic ship that hasn't had the UCS treatment IMO.

CREATURE: Not far. Yoda not far. Patience. Soon you will be with him.(tasting food from the pot) Rootleaf, I cook. Why wish you become Jedi? Hm? "NY, I love" is fine. I hope this ends the debate.

Reported as well, hope you see results. Anyone who puts this much work into creating a manual does not deserve to have their work used for someone else's profit.

Wow, people suck. Any way you can report him for theft?

No, it was there in the 1980 version. Very briefly, but it was there.

The AT-ST first appears in Episode V in the Battle of Hoth. It could technically be in a Hoth set if TLG wanted to go that route.

In case anyone is interested, the Desert Skiff is on sale at Target for 16.15 right now in the states. It says online only but I got them to price match in the store.

World's largest LEGO model live stream
StoutFiles replied to KartoffelViking's topic in LEGO Star Wars
While this is awesome, I'm disappointed because I thought we might be getting the largest ever set to purchase. -
If so it would probably be an expensive set. TLG has been pretty stingy when it comes to stormtroopers. I think best case scenario is they release a $25 set with two troopers. I think any battlepacks with them going forward will only one have one trooper, and one officer or other type of trooper.
-
They did Cloud City and Dagobah. Not extensively, but they did them. Yavin IV could have used a temple, and the one TLG did build but never released was really neat, but oh well. Perhaps someday though, I would be surprised if we don't see Yavin IV in Rebels.
-
Rebels and the new trilogy will likely be using a lot of the same ships from IV-VI, so even if they stopped doing specific scenes from those movies (highly unlikely) you would still see ships from the OT being made.
-
It'll probably be a while, we just had one and it's not exactly a ship that flies off the shelves due to its high cost. This is probably a good thing; they've covered just about every scene, some multiple times.
-
It's arguably the worst scene in the entire prequel trilogy; it completely invalidates everything Yoda says in Episode V about size and the Force. This was repeated again in Episode III but by then I had grown numb. I think TLG did a good job with what the scene had to offer, and it's nice to see a Yoda that isn't from the CW cartoon.

LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, Times Square-edition Press Kit
StoutFiles replied to BobaCon's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Interesting that it has multiple holes left open in the front, as if it could connect to something larger... -
Perhaps a Cloud City in the same similar design as the Death Star, just bigger? I'd drop 600 on that in a second.

Did anyone see the new Star Trek movie? I was initially worried about Episode VII, but Abrams has now knocked two straight Star Trek films out of the park, and they are fun movies like Star Wars should be. I think if Abrams does the full trilogy they will be as popular as the original trilogy was, and that means a great future for Star Wars Legos in general. I hope they find a role for Simon Pegg (Scotty) in the new trilogy, he's a

They're giving away these Chima sets like candy. I got Han, the poster, and a Chima set early, and then the B-wing came a week later with yet another Chima set. Not sure if I want to open them for the parts or sell them sometime later...
-
It's very likely that Boba will climb out of the Sarlacc and be in the next trilogy. I expect the Slave I to play a big role going forward, but regardless, they'll never stop making the Slave I as long as they have the license to do so.

What are the odds of a 10179 rerelease or a new Falcon UCS?
StoutFiles replied to merman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
By releasing another X-wing, TLG has shown that they'll release whatever they want to make money. A new Falcon is inevitable (assuming the release of another X-wing wasn't a one-shot deal). I too would love a UCS Slave I, I just hope it's not a PT Slave I. -
What are the odds of a 10179 rerelease or a new Falcon UCS?
StoutFiles replied to merman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm fairly sure he meant re-releasing a UCS Falcon, not the exact set again, since he talks about improvements. Before they re-released the X-wing I would say slim to none. Now I would say it's happening in the next five years, no doubt. Agreed, but the resell on that set isn't even close to fair. -
I always forget that that is considered a UCS model. I own it, and it is a nice set, but it doesn't feel like a UCS. Neither does the Tantive IV. Perhaps it's the abundance of play features and the lack of a stand/display card.
-
The lackluster sales of the Jedi Starfighter (similar design) and now B-wing (same movie) may make an A-wing appearance much less likely. While that is amazing, there's just no way we get something at that level, the cost would be too great. I bet we'll get one eventually, just not nearly as good. Just about guaranteed. TLG is in the money making business, they'd have to be dumb to not look at what's worth the most on the aftermarket and rerelease it. I think they did just that with the rerelease of the X-wing.
-
Everyone here makes good points, so I will back down on my claim that huge sales are entirely bad. I also want to state that I'm not weeping for resellers; I just want the aftermarket to stay where it is should I need to sell in the future, although I hope I never have to. I do not hoard boxed sets, they are always built and displayed. I feel for the non-USA crowd, especially those in Europe. The prices you all pay aren't even remotely fair.
-
I would contend that it's somewhat different now. The UCS aftermarket has really took off the past five years, otherwise I can't see that Falcon deal ever happening. Now you've got a whole other market of people buying sets at deals (hence the Limit 5 per order) for future resale. I personally like to know that if I buy a UCS it'll hold its value and increase with inflation should I be forced to sell it, but if resellers are stockpiling at 50% off and then flooding the market when it's retired it would hurt the resale. TLG needs that resale to go up, otherwise why feel forced to buy a set when you know you can get it whenever you feel like it for relatively the same price? But my main point is this: I would like the X-wing, but won't buy it now. Why? I'd buy it at full price now over a 15% discount later, but the chance of a 25-50% discount makes me wait (although unlikely because it's the X-wing). Knowing that TLG could offer such a great deal leads me to wait, and if others do the same then TLG will have to offer the deal to clear shelves, and the trend gets worse. Two of those were arguably not the best of sets. All three were in a period where aftermarket hadn't exploded, so their high prices would be tough to swallow. Nowadays I feel TLG would have trouble keeping a UCS Falcon stocked after seeing what it commands on the aftermarket. I can't wait for it to come back.
-
To that I would say that TLG needs to do a better job at estimating demand for their products. Just by what people were saying, it sounds like there were massive amounts of B-wings in stock on the 4th. You offer too many huge deals and you get people waiting for the next one instead of going for full price.
