LEGO Exclusive 10221 - Super Star Destroyer
StoutFiles replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Any word about TLG stores doing triple VIP points to ramp up the holiday season? They did this last October, so I can definitely wait a month if so. -
Nicely done, took me a while to realize you weren't using tiles. Clever approach. Also like how you implemented the water hitting the shoreline.

I think the parts will come inside the planet (egg) and the box will be a small square. Just my guess though. -

Am I the only one that wants the sets for the planets? ...well, the OT planets anyway. Hopefully they continue what they start; I want all seven noteable OT planets/moons, and wouldn't mind having a Death Star either. -

Those packs are closer to 12 dollars. So you can chuck a minifig out to compare them price wise. A planet and stand would be worth two minifigs then, which is fair enough given the planet molds will be unique. You're also getting figures, other than the TIE pilot, that will likely never be in battle packs. Also, people need to stop referencing the 10 cents per part ratio. That died a long time ago. For better or worse. -

A MINI and minifig go for around 10 bucks as it is. I'd try to look at the planet as a bonus and not have any quality expectations. -

Any idea about what planet the TIE Interceptor will come with? I'm guessing Endor? -

TIE Crawler was EU. If you want to be broad though, everything that's not the movies is basically EU according to Lucas. To paraphrase him: "There's my universe which is the movies, and then there's the fan universe that I don't know what's going on half the time and don't support many of the plot elements, however, I will approve it and avoid discarding it in public because I like money." -

In the history of corporations, the ones that don't innovate are more likely to fail. I applaud TLG for trying new things. As for the names, how are they unoriginal? TIE Fighter is the same name as the old set, just like Droid Escape. Ewok Attack used the same name as the previous model. If you're skeptical about the names then you're really reaching. -
Wow, they really shot up in price over the last six months. I picked up one for $180 then, and that was when they had tons of MISB sets for $220. Ended up building it so there went most of the value, but oh well, it's a great set.

There are unofficial versions?

I don't want it, but I've already gone over why many times. So far, next year is a year for Episode IV fans. -

Because this is the January wave and no large sets are built. -
I hate the prequels, especially Episode I, but this is fantastic. The engine greebling, size, accuracy....it looks incredible. This is likely something TLG will never touch so it will always stay uniquely amazing.

The A-wing? The last A-wing was in the Home One set in 2009. Are you talking about a Jedi Starfighter?

After these MOC's are all done I want AC to start a thread showing off his parts collection. Sometimes I wonder if he works at the factory.

Sorry doesn't really work around here...you have to actively try and fix grammar issues rather than get offended. Don't want the mods jumping on you, bad grammar is a dead giveaway for an underage user. Edited: "I must say legocrazy81, I do know what a period is and I know how to use it. Your comment seems a little harsh when I have already said I'm sorry if my spelling or grammar is not great." -

I've seen RotJ so many times and never noticed that guy! He even put on a Scout trooper uniform, hilarious. -

The set wasn't a bad idea, the execution was. Good parts pack but that's it. Remakes are always welcome assuming they fix old problems, add new features that should be there, and make it more accurate. The new TIE did this more or less. -

A new Y-wing too? Going to be really hard to resist these ships even though I've got all the previous models. They are appealing to the OT fan in me... I am, however, pretty annoyed they're including a swoop bike in Droid Escape. Yeah, it's in the SE of IV, but it had nothing to do with the scene. This was a perfect opportunity for a new dewback. -

The TIE and Endor bp have been requested for a long time, the x-wing remake isn't needed but welcomed, and the other sets sound interesting enough. It's just the January wave anyway, nothing amazing comes out in January. Don't say they're boring though, makes me think everyone wants Star Wars to be like the link below. http://www.google.com/m/url?client=safari&ei=TSk8ToD0A-ObsQe0zoerAQ&hl=en&oe=UTF-8&q=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v%3DwguG1S9gdqI&ved=0CBcQtwIwAA&usg=AFQjCNFI2duRQi-KgZIJBOM2o-pz_veT9w -

Yep, it's a remake of the escape pod with R2-D2 and C-3P0. Since the cost will likely be in the $20-25 range, here's hoping they give us two sand troopers and a new dewback mold to make it worth it. -

Ooh, a remake of Droid Escape. I need that one, dont have the original. Maybe they'll throw some Sand troopers and a new dewback into this set, perhaps? -
I would very much like a UCS Flick Fire Missile. The stand would be a large missile holder, obviously. ...Maybe I'll MOC this one sometime.
