Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
blackdeathgr replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Kolonialbeamter I also prefer the coin-ish version and although the gold is difficult to acquire, I love it as much as the silver one -

[OL-FB] Small Monument to Zorro
blackdeathgr replied to Capn Frank's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Sad story but so great of you to memorialize Zorro. The build is really enjoyable and I especially love the lamp design and the slightly nostalgic face of the old lady. -

[OL-FB] The Pirate Captain's Home
blackdeathgr replied to Capn Frank's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice house and above all cozy indeed! The hourglass is indeed a great piece but above all I couldn't resist commenting on the Captain's minifig choice. This is absolutely the second best era appropriate minifig (with Highwayman being the first ) -
[COR - SEP FB] Leaving Myzectlan
blackdeathgr replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
As I've also written at the building log, I had some initial reservation about the circular part of the throne being too bulky but upon seeing the whole MOC completed, I loved it! Let's see where Allcock will be seen during the following weeks...- 8 replies

Seems alright. You could skip the DB section (to simplify things although I believe they enhance rpg/strategy elements) and the troops section is a bit vague/difficult to grasp for the newcomers (given that we don't currently have some troop lists that are public/translation of number of troops per battalion/army/whatever) in my opinion. As an alternative you can just write the number of accompanying troops (which need salaries/food thus reducing your starting DB sum) but everything else works OK since an adventure needs some thought before you start it Initially I had the same thought with Cpt Wolf about the build url but it makes sense so that you can't apply for an adventure when you don't have any MOC to start with.

Great looking ship (earthly tones work wonders)! Also the small cannons are nice! Only thing I would have improved (as other better ship builders have said) are the size of the sails as they appear smaller than needed, although you have certainly put some love on them with that vertical and horizontal lines of them. Keep up the great work!

[WIP] Myzec Throne Room - WIP/Build Log
blackdeathgr replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A bit late at the discussion but I wanted to compliment you on the building log idea (and the subject that you are building). One comment as far as the throne is concerned. Since the lbg circle at the throne looks a bit bulky (to me that is), you can try building it with lbg hinged plates instead of hinged bricks. I believe it would look a bit more up to scale with a minifig Aztec queen. In any case, all the rest are as always great and keep up the great work! -
[OL-FB-Class2] Jacinthe - Gunboat
blackdeathgr replied to Bodi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yum yum, great brickbuilt ship! I just love it! The only thing I would change is the bowsprit (I would have placed it a brick lower for realistic reasons). Other than that, go Oleon go!!! Something tells me that this ship is going to be needed for another extraction or two... The King needs us! -
[OL-FB-Class6] 26-gun frigate Licorne
blackdeathgr replied to Bodi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great ship! Oleon grows strong both in quantity and in beauty! I can't stress enough how I love white hulls as they make ships more grandiose and as far as the rest of the colors are concerned, they blend in perfectly! I even like that brick built unicorn! Can we get a rough estimate time needed for this type of rigging by the way? -
Nah, Giannis flies above us all and I am really happy for him (basically we all are)! Sadly for me, a knee injury (that requires surgery) in the last season of the company year long tournament made my commitment to LEGO sturdier than my love for basketball so no practicing anymore For the record I was more of a Shved guy rather than a dunker. Hehehe! On the other hand, go Serbia go (for tomorrow's Eurobasket 2017 finals)!

GZ to all the winners and particularly to Maxim I for running the really successful First New Terra Soccer Cup!!! I say let's make that a tradition and next year a different colony can organize that!

I second that! I am also very happy that we decided to add different qualities to each island when we started all this It certainly stimulates moc productivity -

Nice scene Bregir! Lush green, nice rope bridge and I also like the waterfall, especially with the use of medium azure (?)- 10 replies

FIXED: Unfriendly -> Indifferent Yeah, we are a bit snobbish I know, but I guess if you hadn't forcibly try to "protect" those immigrants, we would be at a better status . I can't stress enough that this type of relationship only reflects the main Oleander and Corrish governments and doesn't, in any way, directly affect personal feelings/agreements of our vassals towards a few of your loyal subjects -
Great effort and hilarious writing! It was a bummer that Oleander teams failed but that's life!!

@Keymonus Beautiful idea! You can start your own building a'la higher and lower districts of Astrapi OR you can always assume that your small mining community lies on the outskirts of Astrapi, thus using whatever building style you like! Anything is possible as long as you can tie it in with a story or a description of your liking!
