  1. Wow, what an amazing set, the Lego company are just spoiling us now! This set does for Castle what Cafe Corner did for Town, expanding on a theme in such a new and exciting way. I remember when Cafe Corner was released I was thoroughly impressed by the level of creativity that had gone into the set, the clever design and use of alternate buidling techniques, but had decided against buying it as I don't generally collect town theme... and now there's this. I can only echo what others have said here and add that Lego has outdone themselves again, not only answering the wishes of many a Castle fan but in providing a set with immense detail and depth of character - and not only in the minifigs, which are awesome - but through the market place and buildings themselves. Definately a must-buy! Wow, first the Death Star then this. Good stuff!
  2. I don't think these are meant to be shirts as such, but tabards which knights often used to wear over their armour, with an aventail protecting the neck lying over the tabard. If you look through some historical knight and armour reference you'll see what I'm talking about. Technically these knights still have their armour on - just underneath their tabard I think any alternate torsos are a nice addition to the variety on offer for the Crown Knights, whether you like one particluar torso for regimented displays or the personalisation as historical battles would have seen.
  3. Ah, very cool! Cheers for that. There's some nice comparisons of the other minifigs in that folder too. I had hoped Vader's head was another new print, I was never too keen on the RotS 'browless' version, made him look a bit blank IMHO. The new print rocks! on!
  4. Excellent review and photos Dunamis, thanks! I'm hoping to get this set too this year but in the meantime I keep browsing through all images, marvelling at all the awesome details and pondering on how I'd display all my minifigs! Just wondering if you or anyone can tell me which version of Vader's head has been used under his helmet? Is it a new print or the eyebrow-less print?
  5. The leg clip on one of my metal blue SBDs from 7163 spontaneously broke quite recently. I have two of 'em and both have been displayed since the day I got them. I was a bit gutted but have put in an order for a replacement.. hope I get it!
  6. I got my first AT-AT from Woolworths online store when it originally went on sale many moons ago. It was £45.99 then - still a massive bargain!
  7. Nice review and well worth the 10/10 score you gave it, there's nothing about this set that is bad at all. The minifig selection is fantastic and Slave 1 just looks amazing, every detail is spot-on. Absolutely the definitive version of Slave 1 and a must for all!
  8. Congratulations you lucky, lucky people!
  9. I'm all for the new look - thumbnails make it that bit easier to find what you're looking for at a glance. I'd suggested addind a space in between the image and text though, just so it looks a little neater
  10. Hey there, I received my prizes from Little Arms early last week! Was going to post some shots of some clonetroopers kitted out with some of what I won... after I take 'em
  11. Another great raffle, I'm up for it! I'd love the chance to win one of these. Thanks guys and thanks CopMike!
  12. Despite your lack of bricks it's a great looking MOC, nice one! I guess it will be an ongoing project for you as you get more tan to work on it and improve it? It will be great to see how you develop it further!
  13. Hey, that looks ace! You've got his ship's markings looking just right too. Great to see someone modelling the other Jedis' fighters. Have you got plans to do anymore?
  14. Great comparison Dr. Sinister, cheers. I own the original Republic Gunship and it's been a favourite mine for quite some time. The new version, which I'd like to get, appears to be that bit more detailed with much better interiors including the storage for the speederbike and command platform - as opposed to a simple box of tools in the original. There's a couple of cosmetic mods I'd make on the new version, but nothing extreme. Although there aren't the same amount of clonetroopers as the original, the new gunship has a great selection of some of the best Star Wars characters. And with the future clonetrooper battlepack planned, the lack of clones isn't such a bad thing. All in all new > old!
  15. Happy first review! You picked great set to do it on, nice one. I've got to agree with KimT and say that I do prefer deeplinked images though! Hmmm, I'm not so sure about the illustration. I like the the Twil'lek victory girl design as used in the film and would've preferred it if they'd stuck with a simplified version of that instead. Well, maybe I could just create my own...
  16. Cheers for those Yellost. I might try and build one or two of these at some point soon... colours may vary though. If anyone does get round to building them they should post some pictures too.
  17. Actually I had read of the naked swooshing before, but alas, my Y-wing swooshing was in my workplace where it's generally accepted that you keep your clothes very much on. It's a completely different story when I'm at home though...
  18. Great review! The Y-wing is an awesome starfighter and the detail in this set is superb. Funnily enough I was just swooshing mine today!
  19. Thanks again for all the great comments, I really appreciate it! I wanted to create an AT-ST as authentic as possible so used lots of reference pictures. Having the capacity for two pilots is a feature we've all hoped for in Lego's releases but never got so it made a lot of sense for me to include that in my MOC. I'm glad you all like it! I'll see what I can do!
  20. Cheers for the review KimT! Of the initial Episode II Lego releases this set was the least inspiring, but the minifigs were must-haves. You can't go wrong with Count Dooku and Yoda! I like the design of Dooku's speeder in the movie but Lego missed the mark a bit with it here and gave him a dodgy flying boat instead! The speeder cradle/Yoda jumping mechanism was just a waste of parts unfortunately. I'd like to see Dooku's speeder re-imagined by Lego. They've come a long way in the way they design a lot of the new Star Wars sets
  21. Everyone else is up for it... it'd be silly not to! I'm in too
  22. I'm very happy, but not surprised to see a Clonetrooper battlepack in that line-up. Joy! The other sets are great too of course: Assassin Droids is the perfect set to scoop an IG-88 figure! As an army builder pack it seems like a bit of a surprise though. These droid must feature more in the Clone Wars series. All the vehicles included in the battlepacks are superfluous alongside the figures in my opinion and will be used for parts. The Hyena Droid Bomber looks like an interesting adaption of the Vulture Droid, I like the double-headed design. The Jet-pack Droids look cool too! Vader's Tie Fighter looks ace in shades of bley and they've gone that little bit further with the detail too, nice! Seems to me like Lego will re-release all the Ties in this colour now. Poor wallet... AAT looks leaps and bounds better than the original, probably better still with printed elements or selective stickering. Looks to have a decent enough figure selection too and as it's a preliminary it may yet conatin the alien commander [not sure of his name as I haven't caught the new movie yet]. Can't wait to see what the new head looks like! The Republic Attack Shuttle benefits from having a new Mace Windu and more clonetroopers is always going to be cool. But although the ship itself is the interesting design, it kind of lacks the Oomph! that other Clone Wars vehicles have - such as the Republic Gunship - making this a weaker vehicle based set in my humble opinion. Shame there's not a few more shots of original trilogy sets but all in all, good stuff!
  23. Hey all, The Daily Mail and Mail Online have published photos showing the Hong Kong Lego User Group's awesome model of the Beijing Olympics. It's a huge, detailed display that includes the Bird's Nest stadium and Water Cube aqua centre... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10...ick-blocks.html Take a look when you've got a moment
  24. Aye, I mentioned this before. Just make sure the extra flap of packaging with the small transparent panel has a clone in it before you purchase... or it'll be tears before bed-time!
  25. Could you add this to the MOC index for me please KimT? Thanks in advance
