Love this entry Oky Wan The skull head/cockpit is just inspired and suits the Space Skulls theme down to the ground. Nice work!

Awesome entry jansued, looks like you've put loads of effort into this - the details are spot-on - and I love your cast of characters! Good luck in the contest

Some awesome entries there ladies and gentlemen! It's great to see so much effort put into every contest here and to see the work of so many talented builders... the very best of luck to you all! I'd planned to enter myself and had a rough idea of what I was going to build too... but due to recent family, social and work commitments just haven't had the time... oh well!

Hey everyone, I've been updating my Brickshelf folders quite a lot over the last few weeks; unfortunately one of my folders has displayed the "This folder is not yet public." message for some time now... and I have no idea why. It's the folder I've been uploading my Star Wars MoCs and although I originally updated my Castle folder at the same time - which was made public as normal - my SW folder still hasn't. It doesn't violate the ToS in any way and after sending some mails to support I haven'y yet had a response or a resolution. Sucks a bit as I can't send the links to my non-AFoL friends. I've started updating my MoCpages but really it would be nice if my Brickshelf account just worked! Anyone else had any problems with this?

To be honest the stickers don't add a great deal to the model - especially not in the way the new ones do. As it is, it was a while ago this happened and I managed to buy a replacement sheet which didn't cost that much at all. I haven't applied them, just keep them safe

Lego Star Wars 10th anniversary exclusive on May 3 and 4
pedro replied to Commander Assassin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm just printing this out hi-res on A3 glossy paper right now! I think that makes it just over a quarter the size of the actual poster, but it still looks great -
Nice! That's a formidable squadron you have there Cyrus is a character from the cult classic film and videogame The Warriors.

Fab review svelte One of the best concieved and most perfectly balanced Indy - nay - LEGO sets yet! Minifigs, accessories, parts, colours... keep-factor... all spot-on! This years Indy line is seeing some of the best minifigs ever produced by LEGO, many of them in this set. Superb! This one will sell by the bundle I'm sure, and I'll be one of those happy to part with a wee amount of cash for a whole load of goodness!

REVIEW: Indiana Jones 7196 Chauchilla Cemetery Battle
pedro replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great review svelte! Your reviews are always a joy to read LEGO have raised the bar high with the Indy line of minifigs and this set is no exception! Not only that but there's an amazing range of scope for using the minifigs in other themes, be it Star Wars, Batman, Castle, etc. Mutt's classic motorbike is fantastic... I've got various characters who'd look great on such a sweet ride! The only drawback for this set for me is the model itself. I look at it and I think parts - albeit a good selection of parts. For me, there's not a great deal about the model of the cemetary that's particularly appealing at all and the play functionality seems pretty flacid. I accept it's a scene taken from the (disappointingly mediocre) movie but a figure heavy set like this could've been realised on a much smaller scale in my opinion, especially when compared to Ambush in Cairo which is an extraordinary set for it minifig and parts count. Saying that, the minifigs and motorcycle are MAJOR plus points and even if the cemetary itself is destined for parts it's potentially still worth the investment -
I think it's most likely to be a minifig scale Rebel Blockade Runner. If you look at the special treatment the original trilogy is getting this year - and to this extent has been a long time coming - it seems to me that releasing the Tantive IV would expand on that. It's one of the most iconic ships from the Star Wars universe and I think LEGO will want to capitalise on that and make September's release something really special. I think that potential sets based around the Arrest of Palpatine or any pre-trilogy scenes lack the clout of a ship like the Tantive IV; and although Cloud City would be awesome (despite the fact I already own the original) I think they'll save that for Empire's anniversary. Asides from that the set has almost built itself! We've got a rough basis for how it might look with the Republic Cruiser and we already have the majority of figures present with the exception of Captain Antilles - and wouldn't he be cool?! Whatever it is, we'll find out come September - maybe before - and it'll probably rock whatever it is!

This is me when I was accosted by a squad of stormtroopers at a collectors fair... ...one mention about searching my smuggling compartment and I was off!

I tried a few different sig-figs when I first joined EB, but my sniper has suited me fine. He's based off the sniper from Team Fortress 2 which features some fantastically well-designed characters Note the authentic looking dust... he's been waiting patiently for his target for some time!

Great news, thanks Alsonar! I can stop scouring t'internet for 'bargain' Chrome Vaders now

Lego Star Wars 10th anniversary exclusive on May 3 and 4
pedro replied to Commander Assassin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I happen to think that the poster is really nice. I've downloaded the hi-res image and looked at it loads of times. It's great to see pics of so many minifigs together, conjuring up feelings of nostalgia and anticipation with the mix of classic and new un-released minifigs... I'd proudly hang this on my wall Just a shame that the offer was only on in the US... again. I think if you feel inclined to complain with your lot in the US then bear this in mind: you could but from shop@home and as a bonus get... NOTHING... like we do! Then there might be hope for us yet! As soon as I read this I immediately signed up for the LEGO club magazine Until then I think I'll print out the poster on some nice A3 photo paper. Good luck to you mate. I hope she's as understanding as my wife is! -
I've had a large army of stormtroopers for a long time now and they've gradually gotten a little yellower as time has gone by. My Imperial shuttle too has felt the onset of yellowing. I've kept them on display out of direct sunlight for the best part of 10 years now, so I put it down to age. It's good this has been raised as a topic - I might try out some restoritive measures and see if it helps. I hear that! The stickers on my (original) RGS spontaneously started flaking off leaving behind that sticky residue... was so annoyning! Fortunately my wife found this solution that removes 'sticky-stuff'; after stripping all the stickers and cleaning it with the solution my RGS looked sweet again

I've seen some of these WIP pics before but I think this folder has been updated since last I saw - I'm sure a few of these pics are new. Let's hope he/she keeps it going!

Hey, I prefer 4504. It's more accurate in appearance, the details are far better and so are the interiors - 7190 is pretty bare inside. The minifig selection is great line-up too, like the original Falcon in variety but different in selection. You do miss out on the rarest of rare Leia minifigs with the newer set but I don't feel thats an issue. 7190 is a classic, but LEGO's revisions of older sets tend to be much better and the newer MF is a great example - it really does look awesome But don't just take my word for it! Check the review index here for some excellent reviews from our fellow members. That might help you make up your mind too!

Nice 'n' easy! Z-6 Rotary Blaster Cannon Start with this piece in black: Brick, Modified 1 x 1 with Studs on 4 Sides, connect dark bley Technic, Axle 3 with Stud to the bottom of the brick and push a bley Technic Bush 1/2 Smooth onto the end of the axle. Use 2 x black Tap 1 x 1 for handles, one on the top stud of the the modified brick; the other add a dark bley Plate, Round 1 x 1 to the bottom and add the assembly to the side of the brick. When posing on the clone trooper point the tap for his right hand down, and position the left hand tap as fits best. Clone Rocket Launcher Take one of these in bley: Minifig, Utensil Hose Nozzle Elaborate and put 2 x bley Minifig, Weapon Lightsaber Hilt Straight to each end with the chunky hilt top facing out the way.

Good stuff! If I can suggest anything, it'd be to make the hull on both pods rounder, more cylindrical, rather than limiting yourself with the shape of the windscreen. It seems like you'll have enough slopes to give it a try

I've just been checking out the box art from The Battle of Endor and just noticed for the first time some of the layers of functionality there are! The AT-ST has a gear on the back and judging by the way it's posed seems to indicate some kind of walking function! Either that or it's for turning the cockpit - like 7657 - but I dont' think so. The bunker, as well as having gears to open and close the doors like the Hoth Rebel Base, has an exploding function when you push down either of the sensor/communications dishes on the roof. Kabooom! This set rocks...

Cheers for the comments guys Sorry, what do you mean Sion? Want to know which parts I used? Thanks GoN. The 'dead space' between the saber hilts works well because it means you can clip the launcher to the back of the clone (like in the second picture). Besides that I wanted to keep it long and thin and scaled nicely with the trooper too. Essential tools for trimming back dense jungle foliage!

I checked today with my nearest TRU in Tamworth. They don't have any Vaders and aren't even aware of them. I'd mentioned how they were available in the US and throughout Europe but they said that UK promotions differ from the other regions... o rly? I thought... Anyone else had better luck? My heart bleeds for you. I can't get so much as one at the moment without paying through the nose!

Hey, Inspired by the Clone Wars episode Ambush, I decided to build some clone heavy weapons and arm up a couple of my troops similar to the way the heroes were in the show. I like the simplicity of the clone rocket launcher used in the episode - which bears a lot of resemblance to modern day bazookas - and wanted to recreate it at minifig scale. I was tried various different parts for a while 'til I came up with the very simple solution shown here. I managed to get the weapons positioned nicely on the clones' backs. I've seen a couple of Z-6's floating around already but thought I'd try my own version from scratch. I'm most happy with the way the rocket launcher turned out and it's so easy to build. Hope you like 'em! Click here to see more pics. Hit the image below to see my Star Wars/Clone Wars folder when moderated (may take a wee while).

Another great addition to the TIE family Walter, good work! I first saw the TIE/D in 'Dark Empire' and I really like design and the concept behind them. They were mass produced and dispensed mid-battle by the titanic World Devastators with the plan to overwhelm the enemy with sheer numbers. Course the Empire ultimately failed with that endeavour... The shape of the wing panels and the cockpit are very distinctive and you've matched them brilliantly. Your greebling is spot-on again and I like the rear of the craft - although it may be better to have a porthole in the centre like the standard TIEs. I think the droid compartment is a little messy with all the tubes all over the place... I would've built something more symmetrical, but that's creative license for you

Here you go! Right interior. See the 2 x 2 bley plate on the hinge bricks? That's where you attach the front hull panel. The dark bley hinge plate clip is where you attach the side hull panels. Left interior. Note the single cone underneath the hinge brick - it's important as it adds a lot of stability to the hinge bricks. Front hull panel. Make sure this is built completely before attaching by the dark bley modded plate to the 2 x 2 plate on the front hinge bricks. It's best to attach the front hull panel before adding the side hull panels. Side hull panels. These clip on as above. Hope that helps
