Sounds like it was a proper challenge for you getting this to work! Well it's paid off - your Burton-mobile looks excellent and the Batmissile function is awesome Now all you need to do is make working slide-over armour plating... ...just kidding Love your creations Eric, keep it up!

Nice work Waterbrick! I love all your little details such as the playwrights coloured ink bottles, the table next to him with goblet and cheese, all the costumes in wardrobe and more! They all set the scene brilliantly

I'll see if I can take a couple of photos for you

I mix them and don't mix them! I have most of my LEGO on display as relates to a various scenes or areas from the movies. Whichever head colour is dominant in that scene or part of my display, I'll MOD all heads to be that colour. For instance... Tatooine - Part of my display is dedicated to Tatooine so has Jabba's Palace, Mos Eisley, Tusken Raiders, etc. in that space. As most of the heads are yellow, I'll MOD any flesh headed minifigs I put into the scene to yellow. Hoth - I've got many flesh minifigs for Hoth including Han, Leia, Luke and Hoth Rebels centred around the Hoth set, making flesh the best colour for the minifigs in this display. I've got a few of the slightly older yellow headed Hoth Rebels in this display this so have MODed them with flesh heads. Cloud City - Most of the minifigs here are yellow - with the exception of Lando - so any new fleshie figures added to the display I'll MOD to yellow. I have a neat little Bespin Guard minifig with the new stubbly yellow smiley face... he looks great! So the minifigs have the same coloured heads if they're in the same scene. That's just an example of how I display some of my LEGO. As I have a large mix of flesh and yellow heads it works for me. The addition of new sets means that I'll have many more flesh than yellow, but I'm happy with that - I prefer flesh heads in my LEGO Star Wars now ...so can we have a flesh head smiley emote?!

Great work Walter, you've captured the wing shape nicely and I love the greeble-work! I'm enjoying the special attention you're giving to the diverse range of TIE variants Keep it up!

The recent and forthcoming Indy LEGO sets are superb, with some of the best minifigs around! There are just so many excellent new sets across the themes, this leaves some hard choices as to which I'll get as I can't possibly have them all (unless I secure an elusive lottery win!). Completely spoiled for choice! However, it's nice to see some excellent sets at a lower price range so even if I miss the large sets I can still revel in goodness with smaller purchases

Excellent review svelte, great idea adding movie images to jog my memory! You've done this set justice - it looks awesome - LEGO is really going all-out making some truly superb minifigs and sets this year. The Indiana Jones line has some of the best for sure!

What could be better than pirates? Space pirates! Yet another great looking set! Minifig selection is on par once again: Hondo and Turk look ace and it's nice to see other races from the Star Wars universe getting the LEGO treatment. Despite being somewhat Clone Wars-ified, these could double up as Weequay guards on Jabba's Sail Barge or Desert Skiffs. A new Obi available for less money is fine with me, even though Jar-Jar would have been a more obvious choice, we'll probably see him in another set at some point. The Pirate Tank looks like it means business and comes in great colours too. I think LEGO have done a pretty good job of creating this fairly complex vehicle. 'Pop-up pirate' function sounds fun - made me think of the classic kid's game which I'm sure isn't a coincidence As for what might be inside the hinged area at the rear... my guess would be a storage area for weapons or a brick built engine.

It's a very distinctive design and some distinctive parts which might be making it difficult for you. Try taking a look through wookieepedia for inspiration. Amongst other things there's various types of airspeeders that you could probably build. I love this set, it's one of my favourites and it's unlikely I'll ever break it up. If nothing else you can always put it back together!

Why don't you buy two and stick them together? Double the hangar space, enough LEGO to make a larger conference room and enough minifig parts to create more officers, pilots and engineers! If the set's too small and you would've been happy to pay a wee bit more for a bigger Home One, that might be a good solution?
-
Aye, the split is pretty much unavoidable unfortunately and especially with such limited parts. Perfectly valid question, not noobish at all! No, there's not enough room inside... it's filled out with hinge bricks and other parts to support the hull. Cheers for the further comments! And thanks for frontpaging this KimT... got a bit of a surprise when I came on earlier

Great pics legoman, thanks! This, like the Endor set, is a veritable minifig-fest! Admiral Ackbar... Such a great selection of new and unique characters almost warrant purchase on their own! But, I love the new A-wing - the details are that bit more refined than 6207 - which is still a great model - and it looks great with the dark green colouration. The Home One control room and hangar bay are pretty cool too, if not a wee bit basic in respect of the hangar bay. I can't tell if that's a new holographic Death Star part; however, in the face of such goodness my concern about that fades somewhat Such good sets this year, OT and PT! C'mere LEGO, give us a big hug... That's... just... criminal... It does look that way, but I think it's just subtle differences in the lighting. From pic to pic AA and the engineer's heads look to be lighter or darker than each other. I'd imagine it's just the same head for both.

Hey smokebelch, looks like you've defo been making the most of our 'summer' Love your photos Putting the characters - and not just the LEGO ones - into real environments may seem like an obvious thing to do, but you've chosen such unique places and compositions. The depth and colour you've captured is really nice and interesting to look at... I like the wee bits of humour too! Good stuff, keep it up.

Thanks for the all positive comments guys, really glad you like my efforts Ah, I hadn't realised there was a topic on alternates... it must have been hiding in the depths of the forum somewhere With all the creativity around EB, there's still a chance I'm sure! Come to think of it, yeah! It seems to be around the right size.

Cheers Thrash, be sure to check the gallery when it becomes available Aye, the hair-pieces are from Arealight. I've got a few of them in different colours and they look really good on your medieval/fantasy characters - amongst others.

EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread

Ladies and Good Sir Knights! I've finally posted my money changer in the Alpha Team thread! Go here to visit the thread and here to visit the Brickshelf folder (when moderated). -
Ladies and good Sir Knights! After some delay I finally present you the grand opening of the EBCC money changer and merchant's guild... "During medieval times in Europe, many cities and towns issued their own coins, often carrying the face of a ruler, such as the regional baron or bishop. When outsiders, especially travelling merchants, visited towns for a market fair, it became necessary to exchange his foreign coins to local ones at local money changers. Money changers would assess a foreign coin for its type, wear and tear and possible counterfeit, then accept it as deposit, recording its value in local currency. The merchant could then withdraw the money in local currency to conduct trade or, more likely, keep it deposited and use its clearing facility to conduct trade." ~ Wikipedia Ye Olde Front Ye Olde Castle Wall Ye Olde Lower floor ~ Money Changer The lower floor sees many customers coming and going, from peasants to royalty... Ye Olde Upper Floor ~ Merchant's Guild The money changer is funded and administrated by the merchant's guild who possess the necessary financial strength and connections to run the organisation. A senior merchant takes residence on the second storey of the building. Here, Grandolf the Wizard pays visit to the establishment... The Guard and the Crow The guard might find himself in for a little surprise! My first real foray into the world of Castle! Comments and criticism welcome. Due to the rules on posting images there are only 5 photos here but there is so much more to show! Please visit here (when moderated) to see many more pictures, the layouts of the rooms and the lit-up fireplace!

Which Clone Era is your favourite & why?
pedro replied to CloneCommanderDelta7's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Episode 2 clone troopers. Just like the original stormtrooper they are of iconic design. The new LEGO versions are awesome and their customisability is a massive plus, allowing you to create... ARCs. Definitely my favourite subgroup. Ever since seeing them in action in CWA I've loved 'em (and I have that figure too green dewback ). -
Congratulations Oky Wan, fantastic entry! And well done to the other winners too

Congratulations to the winners, all outstanding entries!

Congratulations Hinckley, Sir Dillon and Captain Green Hair, all well deserved winners!

Hey everyone, After seeing some nice set alternatives a while back - and after KimT suggesting I give it a try - I went for it with a couple of my recent sets! I bought 2 Clone Walker Battle Packs on release and an Assassin Droid Battle Pack, so decided to build using those. AT-AP As the Clone Wars escalated, the Republic military built up their ground forces with newer, more versatile models of walking battlefield armor. This two-legged model, dubbed the pod attack walker, featured artillery cannons and a third retractable leg used for stability during long-range weapons firing. Clone trooper drivers piloted this walker model in such heated campaigns as those found on Kashyyyk and Felucia. I used 2 x 8014s to build this as I happened to have bought 2. No doubt with an extra set I could refine the folded middle leg a little, but I wanted to keep restricted to using only the parts available in the 2 sets. Front Left Rear Spares Serratto FAS-2 'Dagger' Landspeeder Serrato, a weapons and repulsorlift manufacturing company, pledged alliegance to the CIS during the Clone Wars and produced several dedicated skimmers during that time. The FAS-2 Dagger is a fast assault landspeeder with sleek laser deflecting fairing, two high performance thrusters and armed with two powerful laser lances. Chiefly deployed on missions requiring surgical strikes, fast assault, covert ops and often piloted by assassin droids whose combat ability would serve to enhance the effectiveness of the Dagger. I created this tinkering with 8015. I also created a 2 manned version but haven't photo'd it. Rear Front Side Spares Hope you like 'em! Questions and constructive criticism glady accepted. More pictures are available in my Clone Wars Brickshelf folder here when moderated.

Type in the set number in Brickshelf and have a root around... you'll see what's most likely the newest shots of the box... complete with Jetpack Clonetroopers! I've loved the design of this droid since seeing the concept work from episode 2. I wasn't quite taken with the version LEGO gave us in 7258 Wookiee Attack, so missed picking up that set. However, this new version of the CAT looks the business... I love it! The printed dishes on the sides are a thing of beauty. And what's even better - it comes with great minifigs too
