  1. Hey Chrissy, welcome! Seeing as you were once a wee bairn like me does that mean yer fae bonnie Scotland too? Star Wars and Blacktron 1 are two themes I'm keen on too. You should take a look on Brickshelf at peoples' Blacktron 1 creations - some incredible stuff there. Enjoy your time at Eurobricks!
  2. £274.99 = $543 'tis a fantastic set, either in your price range or not, but that's a major hike in price for those of us in the UK... victims of TLG's unfair exchange rate again Ah well, the eternal Lego Star Wars lover, I'd still really like to get it! I'll have to see if I can order a set from somewhere where it's not quite as expensive. Wish me luck!
  3. A warm welcom Paradox, Space is good! Especially Star Wars... See you on the boards!
  4. Nice to meet you Anne, welcome! Those creations of yours are fantastic, I really like your attention to detail. I'm into Star Wars myself but anyone can appreciate the excellent work you've put into those... so much to look at! Well, enjoy your time here. See you on the boards!
  5. Warmest greetings Jessica! I have the same problem with my Mum, she thinks Lego is for wee kids too... and I'm 31, married and live in a differnet country Never mind, Mums will be mums sometimes, I just wind mine up about it - we know the truth! Hope you enjoy your time here... see you on the boards!
  6. ...and of course, IG-88 isn't white. I agree that it's just an IG droid technician.
  7. Absolutely awesome playset! They've managed to pack so many great features in and the amount of minifigs is astonishing. Not only that but there's a couple of excellent updates of classic characters. Emperor Palpatine's new face looks especailly fearsome! I'd love to get this set but you can bet your buttocks it's going to cost a fair few £££. I may have to supplement my income sellling myself down the docks... hmmm, maybe not This one will be only for hardcore collectors and rick-kids methinks. The IG-88-alike looks to me like it's made from white pieces and it looks like they've changed C-3PO to a different shade of gold - anyone else think that?
  8. Great contest Clone Commando! I've started work on my bignette already and have a good idea of what I'm going to do for my vignette. I'm very much looking forward to seeing all the entries. Good luck everybody!
  9. Aye, they look like probe droids much akin to Darth Maul's Sith probe droids. They've used 2 small dishes to create the round shape and levers for the antenna. Nice little touch.
  10. I'm afraid I have to mirror the sentiments of many here and say that the faces on the hero figures just look ugly. I can understand that Lego have tried to make them more 'toony (and we've seen how successful this can be done with the Exo-force line) to relate more to the animated cartoons, but they've just missed the mark. It's the style - it's just wrong. Not quite Star Wars Lego, not near the fantastic designs of the Clone Wars animated series. It's really a shame because there is so much material from the animated catoons to work from. I think maybe Lego needed to let a better artist set the style for the faces. I'm sure the style of the characters in the new animated series will be more akin to CW animated series and will look far better than these. As much as a Lego nerd that I am, it is possible that they get it wrong sometimes. However... I think everthing else looks great! The new clonetroopers are ace! Although their helmets are simpler they have captured that CW animated feel really well and the new accessories add so much coolness to the figures. I like to think that these will almost certainly be released in battle-pack form :-D Despite my comments above about the hero characters' faces, the new prints and molds are brilliant and the heads can be replaced with other minifigs heads, so if you're inclined it needn't be too bad afterall. Asajj Ventress looks wicked but I'd have preferred her without irises/pupils - just those cold, blank white eyes. As I said in a past post the vehicles are great and although may not appeal so much to those with the originals, they look sleek, have amazing detail and with some of those great new minifigs will be well worth a purchase.
  11. Great photo's there! Thanks Dr. S. The new Indy sets are some of the best I've seen from Lego, really inspiring. After seeing the initial pictures I knew I had to get this set first... and so it's in the post from S@H now! Can't wait 'til it arrives :-D
  12. Great display! The under-lighting makes everything look really nice :-)
  13. I'm very much in agreement with Vader and Dunamis on this one. The first RGS is an excellent set, not perfect, but still one of my favourites. Although this new set improves on certain aspects of the original interpretation, it's not a great leap over the first. Another great version though :-) The inclusion of another DSS to fill out detail sends shivers down my spine: the stickers on my original RGS cracked and crumbled and had to be washed off with a soft scouring pad and soapy water. That was a nightmare. Fortunately the stickers since then seem to be of a better quality, but it's forever tainted my view of DSS's. It's nice to see they've imporved the rear of the cargo area, which was the main drawback with the original set - that almost certainly is a speeder bike in there! I modified the wing cockpits on my RGS so they are full bubble shapes, it's great that Lego has followed suit and made it that little bit more accurate! The new minifigs are going to be a bonus whatever they are :-D For anyone that missed the RGS first time around, this looks like a great set to purchase!
  14. Thanks Sinner! That's my own handiwork :-D
  15. For everyone's information the first batch of Star Wars 2008 sets are now available at Shop@Home! :-D
  16. I think I need one of those t-shirts copmike, they rock! And as for the impending New Year's Eve or Hogmanay as we call it in Scotland, a big CHEERS and a Happy New Year to everyone at Eurobricks :-D
  17. I'm from Aberdeen in bonnie Scotland! I've lived in the midlands of England for a wee while now though - 7 years to be exact :-) Actually, I do love those new undead Castle sets - I've have been considering getting some but alas! Christmas put those ideas on standby. Now there's all the new and even newer '08 Star Wars sets! What to do, what to do?!
  18. These new sets look great IMO! The Magna droid fighter is a great looking spaceship, it has a real distinctive design. I'm interested to see Lego's take on the Magna-droids themselves too... I think a lot of people will want several of these accompanying their General Grievous'! Might not be my first choice for purchasing but a nice set nontheless! The AT-TE looks like a great evolution of the original set, more accurate, more detailed, more figures. All good really! It'll be interesting to see exactly which minifigs come with it. More episode 2 clonetroopers is great and I'd personally like an ARC trooper or ten (;-) )or addtitional Jedi. There's been a lot of excited specualtion about this so far with people trying to figure out exactly what the names are on the images; but it's worth pointing out that these are still preliminaries and even these, like the shadows of the minifigs, could change before the final versions! I love the design of the Torrent ever since I saw it in the Clone Wars animated series, so I'll defo buy this set. I do agree with some comments made about it's windshield not being sleek enough, but that'll be ripe for moding which I'll be happy to do!
  19. Hi everyone! After years of visiting Eurobricks, it being my most favourite of sites, I've decided to become a more active part of it! Ever since my parents first bought me the Alpha-1 Rocket Base - 483 - on my 5th birthday I've loved Lego! All through my life I've built, modified and played with these amazing little bricks and today my love is as strong as ever *sweet* I'm a big, big fan of Star Wars and was overjoyed when they released the product line back in 1999. The first set I bought was the Speeder Bikes - 7128 - and it was great to see Lego's interpretation of the Star Wars universe! Since then I've built quite a collection, mostly Star Wars but also some choice sets from the Vikings, Harry Potter and any other product lines. Very much looking forward to picking up a couple of those great Indiana Jones sets! I like to build MOCs and make subtle mods to some of the official sets, just to make them that little bit better! I have a Brickshelf page but it needs a little re-jigging... as soon as I do I'll post it and you can tell me what you think of my efforts! 'Til then, see you all surfing the threads!
