  1. Fantastic review Svelte Corps! I like the alternate use for the rear deck I've never minded the design of the Twilight and your photos do make it look great. It follows a classic sci-fi spaceship aesthetic that says you don't have to be symmetrical or aerodynamic to look cool. It also looks like it could be a great clone carrier with some interior modding. Still not sure if it'd be high on my priority list, but I'd definately consider it at a sale price.
  2. LOL! So it does. Maybe I should ask for a royalty?
  3. This news has already been posted in this thread Joey: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19837 And that looks a lot like the photo I took of the magazine!
  4. It's either a toy crossbow with Nerf-like darts or a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pencil-case.
  5. Hear hear! It's a great chance to win a fantastic set. My money's on the table! Thanks for donating the set CopMike!
  6. Thanks for your comments! Aye, there's not a massive amount of room for the pilots but they do fit in there snugly. I wanted to keep the design as true as possible to the movies and maintain the right proportions while keeping the model at minifig scale, so had to sacrifice a little room in the cockpit. I could imagine that there wouldn't be a lot of breathing-space in the real thing anyway!
  7. Hey everyone, I've just uploaded new photos of my AT-ST on Brickshelf. After being disappointed by Lego's second attempt at the wallker, I decided to build my own version... and it fits two pilots too Here's the first exterior shot: Front: Another quarter view: Front detail: The rear of the 'head': Detaching the top and back to access the interior: Interior with two pilots... ...and without. Top hatch opened with pilot ready for a fight! Here's the link to my gallery (when moderated): http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=336664 Please take a look and feel free to comment. Cheers!
  8. I think Hinckley mentioned on the voting thread that CC07 is on holiday at the moment and will sort out the prizes when he gets back.
  9. I decided to pick up the newly released Jetix magazine on my way to work this morning. This issue is the 'Star Wars takeover' issue and contains a free Clonetrooper! Here's a shot of the magazine: And here's the panel with the clonetrooper. He's in a wee resealable baggy within the packaging: At £3.99 it's not the cheapest magazine, but worth picking up one or two clonetroopers. You also get free Clone Wars stickers and other non-Lego stuff. It's worth noting that when I got my copy of Jetix two magazines had been already been vandalised and the clonetroopers stolen. I can only assume at that time in the morning - and most likely armed with the knowledge of this magazine's release - it was another Star Wars Lego fan desperate for his trooper but unwilling to part with £3.99... how sad.
  10. Well, after half a year of development, you've created a fantastic looking Ice Dragon. It's really, really, really good! All your creations are great to look at Looking forward to seeing your animal MOCs!
  11. Aye... pauldron. That's what I meant to type
  12. Great review Jim! Nice photos and detailed coverage of the set and minifigs. Aye, they did: 7163 Republic Gunship. I own the old version and not the new, hence my delay at purchasing the latter. I'm wearing down however! I love the design of the Republic Gunship this new set looks like a great evolution of the first version. Plo Koon and Asajj Ventress are two of my favourite characters too! Your review is almost sealing the deal Jim! With Commander Fox I left the kama off and I'd feel inclined to do so with the others if I get them - the designs/markings on their torso armour are so nice they're best on show when displayed.
  13. That looks ace Rook, nice one! I really like your take on the CR-20. It's great that you've put a lot of work into the interiors too, it looks like it has loads of functionality with all the moving parts, landing gear, speeders, etc. You must've put a lot of thought into it. And the landscape is huge! The lava flows look awesome - the blend of colours look great and really set the scene. Good stuff! I think the only thing I could suggest would be to maybe raise some of your dark grey areas a little and create some undulating contours in the grey rock, make the landscape look a little more 'natural'?
  14. £3.99 is cheapest you'll be able to buy a clonetooper for outside a set. The cheapest current set with clones is 7681 and you get two - with droids of course - so for the same price you'd get 5 normal clonetroopers. I reckon a lot of people will happily go that. Might pick up a couple myself... or just buy another 7681.
  15. Winner's announcement worthy of front page news?
  16. Wow! I'd just like to say a massive thank-you to everyone who voted for me, I really appreciate it! I honestly didn't think I'd do so well. Warmest congratualtions to my fellow winners and everyone else who took part too. Also, thanks to Mr. Clonecommando007 for organising it - it was a really great contest!
  17. Cheers for an excellent review Whitefang! This looks like a fantastic set, such great minifigs and superb details. I love the representative realms in each of the corners, especially the excellent Dwarven mine! I feel inspired to go off and create a scene in a similar style From what I can see, I think the only drawback of this set - from a playability point of view - is that it may be slightly harder for a non-Lego fan to easily identify which chess pieces are theirs. As there's lots colourful characters and grey and dark grey parts visible on the board it may have been better if the 'good' pieces were mounted on white bases so there's less confusion.
  18. Ah well... the last laugh is on me!
  19. Hey everyone, Was just looking at my summer 2008 Lego S@H catalogue and noticed something bizarre on the front cover: agents Charge and Fuse... have boobs! That is to say they have Trace's female agent chestpiece instead of the male one. Are the male agents adapting new tactics to distract their enemies? Clearly! I checked the photos inside to make sure it wasn't just an alternate design as I don't have any Agents sets yet. Sure enough the men look like men and the woman looks like a woman! Anyway, made me laugh to myself and I thought I'd share it with you all
  20. And thats the beauty of Lego! I've got to say I mod about 80% of the Lego sets I purchase - most of the time just the tiniest alteration. A little brick here or there can make them just perfect
  21. That's a great battle scene Inertia, the melee at the top of the ruins looks particularly fearsome! Your custom minifigs and your choice of weaponry really help convey the feel of the different armies. I especially love the bisento-style polearm you've given the Orc warrior in on the right, simple but effective. Good stuff!

    Slave1

That's a great wee version of SLave 1 you managed to come up with, good stuff! It's a nice little challenge to set yourself, I'll definately have to give it a try.
  23. This exclusive set was $75 at SDCC. They're going for £80 - £100 on eBay at the moment. I'd have liked to have got my hands on one but living halfway around the world from San Diego has proved to be a major hurdle! I own the sets included already so will hold off on spending crazy-money on eBay and wait for the highly likely Clonetrooper battlepack. It'd be great to hear the thoughts of anyone who was lucky enough to pick it up
  24. Clonecommando007, you're best to answer this! How long will the voting process last and what happens in the case of a tie?
  25. Here's a link to my folder with photos of Fox: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=334162 There's shots of him posed with different combinations of clonetrooper accesssories. Unfortunately I didn't model him with the helm-light accessories - I hadn't even considered displaying him with those! I'll have to take some extra photos of those for you if I have time. EDIT: I deeplinked one of the pics. Nice pics by the way!
