How does the POTC theme fit into your world?
Tazmaniac replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'm going to try and get all the smaller sets possibly multi captains cabin type sets for the accessories.... I can't see me building any of these as POCT sets. I've got a bit of a cased Minifig collection so characters of note will live there their original state. -
Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
Tazmaniac replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
My local has the IFS and the Exclusive fire station I'm going to see if they've marked them down might save a hundred dollars or two. -
If your not trying to replicate a real ship then you can use as mush "Artistic License" as you like, I understand you want it to look like a real ship but there's no need to address every detail. The main criteria I think is are YOU happy with it?. If you'd like a flush top deck but only have parts for a Brig then go for it.

Bricknave: 1 point Tin7_creations: 1 point Ingrimm: 1 point Best of luck everyone.

Confucius say, man in wooden ship , should not play with fire
Tazmaniac replied to Tomcat RIO's topic in Pirate MOCs
I'm guessing the colour is due to lack of parts? Ships are brick intensive even smaller one's. The first thing I'd do is move the fore mast back a few studs. here's a good ref pic -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Tazmaniac replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I bought a box and split it with an online afol friend so I had to feel my way through. It had 3 fishermen which through me off a bit as I was under the impression there were only two. got my full set and only opened one wrong one ( not mine ) a snow boarder thinking it was the race car driver. that completes my series 1, 2 and three. I found the dots to be very unreliable as two of the same fig had totaly different dots?? -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 poll
Tazmaniac replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
before I got them all I would have said the elf, he's still up there in my favs and would swap my seven spartans for seven more elfs. but I had to vote for the B.Boy (rapper) the new cap with trucker style print is awesome plus printed jeans a ghetto blaster and gold mic, he is by far the best accessorised fig yet! favorite series was a hard choice but after looking over them series 2 gets my vote. Who said no to more series?...... hell yeah I want more!! I think 10 series should be about right giving 160 minifigs. -
If it was a set I didn't have hell yeah I'd open it, but that said I'd buy complete second hand sets over MISB due to the outrageous prising. I was lucky enough to be born before the release of Pirate Lego and got my little mits on the complete first wave and a few second wave sets. (thanks mum and dad)

you nailed the beach! water doesn't sit below the sand it runs up it. Beautiful build so far and I can only see it becoming more amazing! You are an inspiration to so many builders out there and among my favorites. you never fail to impress and I can't credit you enough for being a constent source of inspiration for myself and a standard to aim for!

Now looking again at the photos posted the apples look big and silly and will have to go. There is plenty more to see here but I didn't shoot it because you'd see all the unfinished bits, still a wip due to a lost BL order. but I will endeavour to complete it once I have the piece I need. Cheers for the feedback. The hand rail to the staircase is connected but only at the bottom via a hinge, the rest is pretty solid.

They're auto resized via a generic image host "servimg.com". It's my own fault for being lazy I've got photoshop just need to pull my finger out and open a brickshelf account and start uploading to that. that will help maintain the picture quality.....yes?

Cheers for the comments, as for the drum its just sitting there (until LEGO make a double female 1x1 round plate). sorry about the photo quality, they looked fine before re-sizing them.

I hope not or I'm ruined too.

Invaded by Imperial soldiers ? Sick of running from lava ? Things just not going your way ? Maybe it's time to build an Idol ...... those things work right ? Well at any rate it's a great excuse to cook a red coat or three.

I hope that's not refering to my Vig . incase it is that little table is with in the 8x8 area. and if it's not about my entry I'm sorry for rocking the boat or cutting anyones lunch. If I've over-stepped any line PLEASE let me know as I don't wish to upset anyone. I really enjoy EB and would not intentionally jeopardise my membership. or it was tongue in cheek and I've over analysed it and look like a right goose.

Getting girls to play with/buy LEGO
Tazmaniac replied to FiletOFish's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think the CMF's have helped get more fans from both sex, But as my partner or my 3 year old daughter will tell you "faeries" would sell like hot cakes, not licensed would be better but if you had to do "Tinker Bell" then so be it. I think a lot of greenery would make this theme attractive non-female MOCers as well. -
I'm sure no one would have thought of you as a cheat, but it would have been a great loss to loose your entry from the comp. There are still a few other entries that may not be eligible for voting but I dare not name them for fear of another flaming.... the ball is in your court.
-
with only a couple of days left, nows the time to get those entries in and double check your entries against the rules to make sure you get through to the voting thread...... good luck everyone!!

Talking Skull - Solutions & share your experiences
Tazmaniac replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
correct me if I'm wrong but that's one of many clues for prize #1. from the book "Treasure Island" first printed in "Our Young folks" magazine written by Robert Louis Stevenson, who was buried ontop of Mount Vaea. But that's not the code word I hear you say, and your right there's more, so you think grave? no tomb is a much better word for it..... but still no love from skully. this is the point that you needed to be "Rick" and add all those numbers together then with all parts in order you can access the cave. there were numerous other clues leading to this but you get the idea. Well done "Rick" I would never have added those numbers together. -

ok those two guys in the top corner of one of the posters were the Blackheart cousins from the lego comic. Islands was easy if you just repeated what the skull said , Typed tropical island. the skull gave some alternate names for them one of which was a code word archipelago Santa Maria ...I'm sure you all got that one. barrel= rum barrel=apple barrle =oranges/kiwi fruit= latin name= Actinidia deliciosa= healthy and my favorite bruni d entrecasteaux his island is named "Bruny Island" and his channel "d'entrecasteaux channel" there's a reef too but thats another story. that's all I can remmember off the top of my head
