Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Huigberts Builds replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wow, these look amazing. Dare I say it? I think I'm gonna say it. So far this series looks even better than the first one. 1. Harry looks fine. Nothing too special but a nice torso and finally the half blood prince potions book. 2. Neville looks pretty good with that hairpiece. But the best thing is of course the monster book. I guess we now have updated versions of all books+some new ones to replace the generic ones to get a pretty impresive Lego wizarding library (we have charms, care of magical creatures and potions + a diary). 3. Bellatrix looks amazing. Looks like a new hard plastic hairpiece different from the rubbery one we got last time. I think it looks better. Also nice azkaban army builder. Face looks pretty good as well, but I'm still pretty nostalgic for the original face. 4. Kingsley, finally. Also such a useful faceprint. It looks like he has a cloth piece over his body, somewhat similar to the series 5 graduate boy. I assume the broom is because of the battle of the seven potters? 5. Luna looks so cute. Love the lion mask. Made only sense lego made her because they do love their animal costumes. It could kinda be used for a lion king the musical figure, looks pretty similar to their costumes. 6. Moaning Myrtle, at last. Odd how they went for a blueish colour instead of grey like nearly headless nick. But it works surprisingly well. I also like the tear, really gives the character emotion. + a new hairpiece (I think) 7. Griphook indeed looks kinda odd without the nose, but I don't dislike it, it kinda works + the hair is really useful. I guess this way they could reuse the mold for other gringots goblins without them looking all the same. Also really like his torso. 8. Sprout, at last. Hat/hair combo looks fantastic, face is also really well done. So much better than what we got last time. Really curious towards her torso. My thoughts exactly, at least that's were I'm gonna use him for. Kinda like this one better, didn't like the part sticking out of the other one. 9. Dumbledore looks amazing, again just like last time my favourite from the series (so far). I loved the previous one from the great Hall, which was already a huge update, but this is perfection. And the beard is in white, finally, works so much better for this dumbledore. Plus it's very useful. The new hat/hair is also amazing. Best of all is obviously fawkes, didn't expect to see him again anytime soon. That's already 5 figures from my wishlist. Can't wait to see the last 7 if they're just as good as these ones. -
Super Mario 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Huigberts Builds replied to MandyNeko's topic in LEGO Licensed
Mario might have a low piece count, but there's a lot of technology inside of him, which will largely affect the price. I really think there's only 1 set with Mario, a starters pack, and everything else will be things for him to interact with. They could maybe do another one with Luigi for a two player twist to the game. -

Sigh, that sounds like the entire wave will be like this. Really not a fan of these. But I guess it saves me some money as Harry Potter, Marvel, Minions and Star Wars are already emptying my wallet this year. Still I really hope this theme will do well so that the theme sticks around for system scale sets. Anyway it's pretty original, so I think it might actually attract a new audience. -
I'm not even sure if they will do the human characters. They've never been included in other sesame street toys and honestly I don't know any of these characters, nor would most people. And this despite growing up with sesame street. Problem is there are tons of different versions of sesame street over the world. Here in the Netherlands for example we have an entirely different cast of humans with a dubbed version of the American puppet sections in between. So while we do know Bert, Ernie and Elmo, no one here has heard of Bob and Gordon but instead we know Aart and Hakim. And the same could be said for many other countries. I also don't think they'll include Jim and Frank as they weren't characters on the show. Besides, there are already a ton of figures for the set and Lego is known to leave some of the figures out of the final ideas product. (Children and Dino in the flintstones, crew with friends etc.)

This looks so good so many details. Makes me sad the theme ended years ago, loved it so much. Great job recreating the Krusty Krab in Lego.

Super Mario 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Huigberts Builds replied to MandyNeko's topic in LEGO Licensed
Okay, this is so exciting. Most important thing for me to do right now is pick up the lego dimensions sonic somewhere, if it's still out there... I could've sworn I had bought it already, but I can't find it anywhere Now I can see an AR aspect being included with this theme. Nintendo usually wanna try new stuff. This could potentially be both a cool theme and cool game at the same time. This could revive the toys-to-life genre and revolutionise it in the process. I hope we'll get some good figures with this. I think both molded heads or minifigure heads could work. But only if they do it like j2g and ashnflash did. I liked the lego underminer for example, but not the toy story figures nor the males in the flintstones sets. It really depends on the character, and characters like Mario, or especially Waluigi, just don't work without a nose. If they go noseless or use this weird gap in the mustache it would just look off. But Peach would greatly benefit from a minifigure head over one with a nose or a molded one. As for sets I would like to see, I hope they tackle a wide variety of games. Peach Castle from 64, Yoshi's Island, return of the board games for a potential mario party AR set, mario kart (although not too much of that, 2 sets at most), world 1-1 ofcourse, luigi's mansion, odyssey's ship, bowser's castle and air ship. Mario and Luigi rpg games could also give us a wide variety of locations, I would love to get a fawful, F.L.U.D.D. in a sunshine like level (airplane maybe?). Paper Mario would probably be tricky to do, but an easter egg on a printed book piece would be nice. And lastly ofcourse the original Donkey Kong level, or maybe mario vs donkey kong, a tiny minis mario would look very cute. -
Yeah I agree on that. Although I will still pick up the set in a case 3 or 4 scenario as a display piece if we ever get the figures in a cmf series. I think the sesame street set might give us a pretty good idea of what we can expect, as that one is in a pretty similar situation.

No surprise there. Lego books like this one have been around 20 euro for the past 10 years here. -

It's nice how we are getting Tom Riddle. I'm curious about the book, kinda appears like they only include information on the revived theme rather than its complete history. Tom looks kinda bland though without the Crest and Badge. Oh well, still happy we got him. Well maybe the only figure, but if we're speaking about characters we also need a painting of the fat lady update . -

this is kind of a disappointment. One and a half year is a long time to wait, I already had trouble with half a year xD. I wonder what will come in its place. Monkey Kid had a rumored blind bag, or maybe Disney, would explain Winnie the Pooh. I just hope the last 2 HP sets will at least give us some new important characters as I was really hoping the cmf would take care of that this year (as the sets mostly give variations and side characters). I hope we'll know more very soon. -

One second thought, the piñata piece could actually work for Eeyore. And the minidoll sleeping beauty owl mold works better for Mr. Owl.

Oh well, does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement? -
There might also be a new pig head mold for a potential Zhu Bajie in the new monkey kid theme.
-
I wonder if instead of minifigures they might actually use the stuffed animal molds. They just revealed a rabbit one in the new cmf series, which recoloured might work for Rabbit. The old Teddy mold could be recoloured into Winnie, friends Tiger Cub could be Tigger. A regular owl (or the new rumored Harry Potter spreaded wings one) could work for Mister Owl. And than Christopher Robin as the only minifigure. That would only leave Piglet and Eeyore. Might not be as fun as regular figures but probably more accurate than the mask molds. And it would kinda make sense.

Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
Huigberts Builds replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I love Spider-Ham. The Venom T-Rex looks pretty cool. I can already see children using it as fun little crossover between Jurassic World and Marvel. However personally I have no use for it. And the spidey monster truck is just another waste of bricks to bump op the price. Iron Spider looks barely any different from 2015. It almost looks like they really just traced over the original figure with some black lines. Spider-Ham is an easy Bricklink buy for me, but I can see other people wanting this set. -
I really don't like this series. Almost all of the choices are so boring and unuseful. Nothing new really. Only might pick up Bunny Pajama girl because I can use the Hermione hair in that colour for Supergirl and the pirate's hair/hat combo could work for Elizabeth Swan. I can see Red Ranger being fun for power ranger fans, but personally I have no use for him.

I really like how you managed to make Gadget with only existing pieces, she looks really good. And the build itself looks really good as well, I especially love how you did the balloon. -
Minions 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Huigberts Builds replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Oh no, now I'm scared Oh well, it's not like the face really screams Gru to begin with, I can just swap it out when necessary. Most important piece is the torso. -
I have no idea. Honestly they might just use it for Ernie as well, but I hope another new piece will be revealed before that.
-
With the reveal of the new minions set they also revealed a new hairpiece for the minion named Otto. I think they might use it for Bert as well as it looks exactly like his hair.

Minions 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Grew's lair and the motorcycle are gonna be the 2 I'll pick up. I'll have every character with the two sets. It surprises me how the dental braces minion doesn't even have them. Grew looks rather dump without his nose but I didn't expect anything different. I wished Lego would make specialised head pieces again. Oh well. At least young Grew wears the same outfit as adult Grew so I can just remove the hair to make him accurate to the original movies. Still I think the Chinese temple and the robots are the best looking sets, but if I wanted a Chinese temple I'll just buy the normal one and I'm not that into minions to buy a 50 Euro(?) set. -
LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Huigberts Builds replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Woohooo! This set looks amazing. By far the best Lego star wars set in years. The child looks so cute, it outdoes all the custom ones out there. The price is also a good deal for once. I wonder about the carbonite, I assume it will be like the old Han one, just a print on a brick, but honestly that's enough. I'm so hyped! The Mandalorian is truly the future of Star Wars. -

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020
Huigberts Builds replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nah the last cmf slot of the year is Harry Potter as far as we know, so I wouldn't worry about that. I think it's indeed more like Nexo Powers if it's not just a regular polybag. I just hope the theme is not centered around an obscure play feature like Ninjago spinners or Chima speedorz.
