Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
azog replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
It seems a little expensive at first glance. To be fair idk how many castle sets he is selling. But I know if you look long enough you can find the BSB for $200-300 good condition. You also have to vary what parts he's missing. If it's just some simple bricks you might already own or ones that are cheap on bricklink I would say go for it if it's worth it to you. However, if he's missing the sails on the BSB or some castle wall pieces with exclusive prints it's not worth it. Also if he's missing mini-figures such as the pirate woman in the BSB, it might not be worth it because they are expensive to buy on their own especially in good condition. It's up you of course cause it is your money, but look at pictures and contact the seller for any questions before you buy. Because trust me there is nothing worse than buying some sets and realizing you are missing the most expensive pieces.- 502 replies

Sadly those are the best parts of the set! Buy those missing pieces as soon as you can! I own all those sets and trust me, you don't get the full affect until they're complete . Still though you now own some of the greatest pirate sets ever made! -
Is this the first photo of the upcoming LEGO Creator 31109 Pirate Ship?
azog replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Looking at the size of the ship, it's actually the same length, 1" smaller in height, and 1" smaller in width compared to the Caribbean Clipper. Honestly if you want a ship I would spend the money buying a nice Caribbean Clipper instead of the Creator Pirate Ship. -

The last thing i'm curious about with this ship is what the interior looks like. How does the cabin look? Does it have much of an under deck? Also, can you lift up the deck to access an interior? -
You have to give us more pictures! I really like the lighthouse!

Wow...I really have no words for this wave. This might be one of the best waves for Ninjago. I was originally happy to buy the Journey to the Skull Dungeons set but now looking at Skull Sourcers Dungeon. I am amazed that this is even a set. It has a mix between Temple of Doom from Indiana Jones, Skull Island from the Pirates theme, and the goblin caves from the Hobbit. I might need to buy both of these sets

You are all good my guy! Any idea when the leak will be revealed? Also this is great, I thought about that last night thinking Lego should have made him a tad closer to white and not so dark. Now I can relax haha

If you add a spanker sail for the Imperial Flagship I will probably buy it immediately ;) -
I love the gyrosphere set! The Ankylosaurus looks amazing, always great to get another new dinosaur. Then the Indominus Rex is an amazing recolor with new arms! I was really worried Lego would get lazy and just use the 2015 one. Then you get all the main protagonist in the one set which the 2015 wave failed to do so. And maybe the best part is that it recaptures such an iconic scene from the movie where I can display it proudly on my shelf! A little weird though why there is no cuing line for the gyrosphere. I'm gonna have to build small polls to create turns to make the a line so I can recreate the scene, "Come on guys, I just work here".

It would actually be really easy to add another mast in the back! It would go behind the wheel anyways, and because it's creator it's not using pre-formed mast pieces. So you can just build a small mast and spar out of normal parts! I will admit though it's not exactly a Carrack but Lego rarely makes accurate ships anyways. So this is definitely the closest thing were going to get. It's like how every ship is a galleon except for the Imperial Flagship (10210) which we have to assume is a ship of the line. Even though it doesn't really look like one haha -

I'm actually really getting excited for this ship! Say what you want about how it looks similar to 2009 and 2015 because it really does. However, one key difference is how elevated it is in the front of the ship. Change the front mast to only have one sail. And boom: You have yourself a Carrack, first time in Lego history. When I do buy this I will probably make some custom cloth sails and add it to my Spanish collection. It will fit right in with all the red and gold. Especially love the green stripe on the back, giving me strong vibes of the Armada Flagship. This is a must buy for me -
Me for sure

azog replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Yeah I didn't buy either of the 2 pirate ships in 2009 or 2015. The hull is starting to grow on me, I like the detail compared to the unusually smooth pre-formed hall pieces. Also I think there is a skeleton in the crows nest? Not my idea of decoration . Originally in the first photo we got I thought it was a re-use of the witch kings cape from the hobbit line to represent a sail. Also a shame there is only 3 minifigures in the set? 4 I guess if you count the skeleton If I do buy this set, the first thing I would do is change the sails for a typical cloth sail. It will allow it to blend in better with the other pirate ships. Lastly adding Iron Hook as the captain -

It sadly looks like Iron hook will not be in this set I actually don't mind the ship, It will all depend when we get high resolution pictures -
It really is a sad day for us non-licence lovers. I really hope Pirates Bay and the Medieval Blacksmith shop sell really well just so Lego knows that there is still a market for these older themes

With all of this in mind, the Caribbean Clipper ideas submission might not get passed either This really is Lego's chance to give us a proper imperial wave. Not gonna talk to much here cause this isn't the right form but Lego doesn't have the excuse anymore for only doing 1 ship and that being a pirate ship

The ship just seems so tall in the back and oddly in the front. Don't mind the look though, gives us something different. -
You probably should edit that post :0 Also that is very interesting, I love NASA but why can they keep posting new ideas but Pirates they cut off because there is one set? I'm thinking lego is planning a new pirate wave next year.

This is amazing! I might actually take inspiration of this build when I build my set. It then allows to set up a whole scene to display instead of just the ship. Thanks for sharing!

Just tons of different plants making it look natural to the environment! Kinda like Barracuda Bay. Personally I would love to see more sets based on the new world discovery with the Spanish Armada. Of course leaving out Native Americans cause the history really isn't good. But having new animals and different trees that we usually don't see in the pirate theme

I could imagine it already! A $200 D2C Spanish fort set in the new world having multiple greenery and stone walls

What a time to be a Lego enthusiast! At least we all have a hobby to keep us busy haha. During this time I actually bought Lego 60226 Mars Research Shuttle. Wanted to buy that before it retired which I would assume would be any day because it came out last summer. However, tomorrow I am very excited because I might be buying Eldorado Fortress which is a set I have always wanted!
