First look at new Gift With Purchase Set: Ray the Castaway
azog replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I bought my copy for $20 + shipping! So I would say you did really good! Enjoy the set, it's simply beautiful. -
[MOC] The Lucky Seashell: a three-mast privateer barque (playset)
azog replied to Legostein's topic in Pirate MOCs
I love how you used that cloth piece from that Indiana Jones set as sails! Also the green outfits all fit the classic feel. Overall well done and amazing build! Side note however, is there anything in the cabin? -
I got mine back in June at my local Lego store. Very fortunate too! An older lady apparently drove from a different state just to get those, and she walked out with 20+! Luckily I got there 5 minutes before she did and got the 6 that I wanted haha. I haven't seen them in stock ever since, which is a real shame for people like yourself.

I can almost guarantee with an 70-80% chance that it's going to be a minifigure scaled Bag-End. (I have no info I'm just assuming just to be clear). This would make the most sence! A beautifully detailed interior with 19 minifigures. All 13 dwarfs, young and old Bilbo, Frodo, Sam, Gandalf, and Rosie possibly. This would not only include the Fellowship of the Ring, but the Return of the King ending with Sam taking over Bag-End, and also the Hobbit and Unexpected Journey. Three films in one iconic set just makes sence. Especially after seeing the D2C Hogwarts express that just released, the D2C Back to the Future Delorean, the Ideas Dr.Who set, or even the UCS Millennium Falcon. Point being, Lego loves to do sets that can display differently based on different movies. This set will also encourage others to buy the 2 brickheadz to get a Frodo and Gandalf to put next to their Bag-End. Finally it's an iconic enough location where it may even appeal to casual Lord of the Rings fans and not just the die-hards. Obviously Lego is going to try to get as many sales as possible and I believe this location will sell the best. Sadly the 2nd highest chance would be a remake of the Tower of Orthanc. We already saw them do this with the Dark Knight trilogy Tumbler that re-released earlier this year with minor upgrades. It would be the lazy approach but Lego does know it would sell well. Let's hope for Bag-End!

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
azog replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Oh man...one could only hope it's a black knights or a dragon masters castle. However if there is forestman it could be another Black Falcons or The Kings Mountain Fortress?- 2,976 replies

Here's a picture from dramaticfringe on Instagram for reference. I think the two torsos are the same from Barracuda Bay along with the one head being from The Brick Bounty in 2015. But I am definitely excited to have the new color for the hat/hair combo!

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
azog replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think it has to be either legit or a custom by someone else. The minifigure factor like you said only allows for a white torso. Let's hope it's real!- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
azog replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
vigadeath_ on Instagram posted this photo earlier today! I guess he was at the Build a Minifigure section and found this torso. Maybe we will be getting the lord of the Black Falcons in the 90th anniversary castle? Either way, I have to check my local lego store- 2,976 replies

A modern figure of Iron Hood would be amazing to have! If you want to get into pirates lore, I would love to see Captain Krag (Redbeard's brother from the juniors pirates in 2004) as an official minifigure!

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
azog replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I'm hoping for that as well! Maybe a forestman and a black knight? A dragon master would be appreciated as well! Personally I believe each of the 4 winning themes will receive a gold minifigure in the series! Maybe a gold captain redbeard, gold classic spaceman, gold minifigure scaled bionicle figure, and maybe a gold knight belonging to a certain faction?- 2,976 replies

I was hoping for pirates too but hey, at least we got barracuda bay! I'm really excited to see this castle though! Tbh I knew I would buy this set regardless (as long as it wasn't bionicle haha).
-
Honestly I'm quite relieved it's fake! I thought this theme would prevent the 90th anniversary set from being castle focused.
-
Which nation would that torso work for? I've been wanting to get some of these, I just need a reason haha
-
I still have a feeling that pirates will make a return this year! I feel like lego pulled Barracuda Bay too early compared to the tree house and other ideas sets. This could be a sign of a new wave or a new set coming this year, they wouldn't want their new stuff competing with the ideas set. Just a theory but I have a good feeling about it!
-
I have nothing new to offer, however does anyone know any torso prints that have a yellow shirt that works with the pirate theme? I'm trying to make a "yellow coat" ish army but I can't seem to find a good torso.
-
Love this! Do you happen to have instructions or a list of the pieces needed?

I honestly am so frustrated with how Lego handled the Ulysses probe. It felt like I was trying to buy a PS5...I should not feel that way when redeeming a Lego set. Lego should have given this set as a free promo to those who bought the Shuttle. To the space fans who actually care about space and know the history behind the real probe. Instead Lego was like "hey, let's have this probe that is meant for Space Shuttle Discovery sold separately...and let's have it available with just VIP points and not as an actual set. And you know what...let's save money! We will only make 300 roughly per a region, that way no one but scalpers can get one". Like they must have known what was going to happen. If you don't understand how frustrating this is to space fans, imagine Lego making the UCS Gunship and then selling Phase 2 Commander Cody for 1800 VIP points. Yeah it's that annoying, at least to me. PS: If anyone is reading this and thinks I'm just salty for not getting one. Just know that I did redeem my probe and I am very excited to display it next to all my other NASA sets.
