  1. It can be done - see photo BUT its not Lego legal ! Old style worm designed for Z56 turntable. New style worm designed for Z60 turnatble and are not readilly interchanged. Not sure what you mean ?
  2. Perfect gear meshing and ideal for a MOC I am working on.
  3. Original rubberband modification by me & instructions on the Index page by @dunes
  4. I,m inclined to agree, too costly, too large and where to display it. Still negotiating where to display the Rough Terraine Crane. May convert to an improved pile drive MOC or break it down for spares. I think the Spider Crane will my next buy and I have plenty of PF compnents for any future MOC,s etc.
  5. Just checked mine and works OK but clearance is tight and could be improved by replacing the 2x2 β€œL” plate by a 2x1 plate & a 1x1 round tile with stud for the flat round tile to sit on. See step 31-3 & 5 so that top 2 layers present a round corner.
  6. There are 15 available on Brickowl from Austria.
  7. Good progress, the hanging up on the corners is an odd problem and you had to file a bit off. Are the various layers at those points sitting snugly ? Can you post a close up image of a corner.
  8. Side Swing Loader MOC abandoned as proved imposible to get the timing right. Here's a picture of a Real Swing Loader from Bygone days which hopefully will be restored in the future. Now working on a new non-train GBC module.
  9. Ditch the battery and run it off an external power source such as a train controller.
  10. Agree - it can be achieved. It took me a lot of trial & error before I got my Fowler Gyro Tiller MOC to raise and lower the frame for the rotating cutters correct between ploughing & travel positions.
  11. Here’s a couple of close up images of my Yellow Bot for you to compare. re hanging up on corner blocks Make sure you have the 1L round tiles in place - I only had white with swirl round tiles. Grab: Spin:
  12. I had to re-build my robots twice before I got them to work correctly. Still don't understand how the adjustment works to alter how robots function. My two robots are slightly out of phase with each other but happy with that as balls don't collide in the discharge channels but drop out 1 by 1.
  13. @RickBobbie5 I had another look at your problems and conclude the main cause of the gears skipping is due to the spreading of the 15L beams. Can’t see how the 99773 triangular lift arm stops prevents the gears slipping other than keeping the 12T single bevel gear (SBG) in place. The 20T & 12 double bevel gears (DBG) cannot come apart but the 12T SBG could disengage from the 12T DBG if the 15L beams spread. The method I used at each end prevents this i.e 3L pins with bush & 2L pin connector. Doug
  14. Strange not had any problems like those you describe. Checked both of mine and only found that the β€œL” brackets that support the non drive end had spread a bit probably when changing batteries. I have added an extra 1/2 bush on the red 2L axles. See photo 2. To stop the two 15L beams spreading remove the 6L axles with the four yellow half bushes and use two Lego 3L pin with friction & axle bush to connect through the 15L beams into the 2L pin connector. Has more friction to resist beams spreading apart - see photo 1 Also check that the train whels are not pushed too hard on the axles so that they bind on the 15L beams. Photo 1 Photo 2
  15. I have several of these gears along with the Lego chain that fits them and have used them on my bucket chain excavator. Had no problem using regular Lego axles but they are a bit hard to push through the gear centre X hole. Easier in one direction than the other, there is a spring grip inside the axle hole. Also used them on the conveyor on my GBC train through rotary dumper. They still have uses.
  16. YES ! I use "Plastic Magic" liquid to repair them, works on most plastics including ABS. Use a fine tip paint brush to apply to the crack and then squeeze togther for a few seconds. Aslo works repairing other parts with X holes at the ends.
  17. Which Train unit are you improving ? The one by @Berthil using the re-chargable battery or the one by me @Doug72 using an L motor with standard AA Battery box ?
  18. Using a 16T spur gear meshing with 12T single bevel gear is not good the teeth don,t match.
  19. Slow Speed Rotor for Train Reverser: For the Side Swing Train loader I required a slow speed trip rotor to achieve this to allow time for arm to swing back & forth. Have now developed a way to change the rotation rotor speed using the original reverser design which had a rotor speed of 24:1, by using some external gears. This modification now allows this to be easy to change to get various speeds. 1st stage is 8/24 = 3:1 2nd stage: 16/16 = 72:1 12/20 = 120:1 8/24 = 216;1 see photo which explains how
  20. Thank you for your comments, I do realise that my new train GBC modules will probably not be used by many but I enjoy the challenge of building them. Interesting idea !! Can you provide a simple sketch for a possible layout for this ? Note the side swing loader can handle 30 balls per cycle and should be able to be speeded up.
  21. Side Swing Loader. Progress has been very sl o w ! Concept works but it is proving impossible to find a way to synchronise the train reverser with the swing arms between loading point & train. Parts that function OK: Train arrives with empty ball hopper and enters the lift cradle and starts to power the train reverser and the swing lift arms Arms swing up & over to loading point OK. Interrupter clutch installed to allow easy hand adjustment for the timing the train release with loaded ball hopper. Timing: Main problem is train reverser needs to be slowed down by 2:1 to allow time for swing arms to travel back and forth. Trip rotor has one lobe with 72:1 reduction but really need 144:1 To double the speed of the swing arms means it can only carry less ball per cycle, at present able to lift 30 balls per cycle in about 1 min. Swing arms reverser: So far have been unable to get get reliable synchronisation of the swing arms with the train reverser. Has anyone got any ideas to try out before I abandon this MOC ? Have we reached the limit of new Train GBC modules or does anyone have ideas for new ones ?
