Thanks, yeah its difficult, he does wear quite a lot of different sun glasses, when looking up images it seemed that most were quite dark and in some of his most iconic photos/interviews he was wearing red tinted glasses. Sometimes creative license is needed to make a real person work as a mini figure.

Tips for Displaying at LEGO Conventions?
MinifigureHQ replied to Adeel Zubair's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Yeah, we had to though, we had our custom printed iPhone, iPad and xbox tiles and bricks on show and the number of kids that pulled them off, or tried to grab a handful from the display box was worrying, glue/kragle was the only alternative as watching it like a hawk was no fun. We want the kids to look and touch, but if they take it then the kids that come to see it after would have nothing to see. We also had kids that would just walk behind our counter, or try to squeeze passed barriers etc. if they see something they like or something that interests them, they tend to want to get close to it. More often than not its innocent and they are just interested or wanted to look closer, but you will get the odd little thief. -
Stan Lee One of our most loved figures is our custom Stan Lee. Like with all of our figures we create figures that we want in our own collection that LEGO simply doesn't make. Luckily for you our custom Stan Lee is awesome :D! Front view: Stan Lee looks great at all angles! Side view: Back view: In bespoke packaging: As with all our figures, they come packaged to make them the perfect gift! Side Note: We do not photoshop our photos, these are of genuine printed figures, no fakery has been done to try and enhance our figures, these are just pure, honest, awesome figures. Exactly how it should be! Feedback: Let us know what you think, good or bad we rely on feedback to ensure we continue to push ourselves to create the best figures possible!

LEGO already make a 'fedora' style hat which is essentially a shorter rimmed cow boy hat, you might want to check that out before cutting up a perfectly good head gear ;). Without damaging the hair the only thing I can think of is blue Tac, or if your DIY skills are pretty sharp, you could always embed a magnet into the head (covered by the hair) and then one on to the underside of the hat.

It's not our event, we're just excited to go there ;) It's the biggest LEGO show in England. All details are on their website: Brick2015.com It will be held at the London Excel centre again this year. However, the dates been moved to mid December rather than November.

MinifigureHQ replied to DavidT's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Hi David, We seem unable to join the Brickish association (we've been refused a couple times already, or our emails simply go unanswered) can we still exhibit as traders and if so, would you be able to send details of the show and the size of the space we can 'display' in?cost etc. Contact: email [at] minifigures.com -
Tips for Displaying at LEGO Conventions?
MinifigureHQ replied to Adeel Zubair's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
We launched at Brick 2014, it was a great show. We didn't have anything stollen from us, but there were a few reports of figures going missing from displays or stands. Typically kids will pull on things and then walk off to show their parents etc. We had a lot of parts from our display 'pulled' off, we ended up gluing them all on. It will always happen so don't let it get you down, just be prepared, pack spare figures etc. -
Small sacrifice for such a great detail.

This is stunning!

It's definitely Christmas themed, it features elves and both Mr and Mrs Claus... The only wintery and non-Christmasy bit is the snow and even thats arguable ;) Its a nice banner though, but I think something related to the recent set releases/Marvel stuff would be good.

They'd be silly not too, both are aiming at current fans / viewers and Capaldi is the 'current' Doctor.

With the paint did you have to prime the surface and then seal it afterwards? Or did you use a particular paint?

Our Latest Minifigure - Dr Anatomini
MinifigureHQ replied to MinifigureHQ's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Hi Kritkit, we're always open for suggestions but unfortunately due to demand we now only offer our custom and design service to companies and corporations, purely because they can meet our minimum order requirement of 50. We still continue to create figures for charities though.- 6 replies

The value of minifigures...
MinifigureHQ replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks MAB, had no idea they did that. I'd seen the CMF figures before, but again these are pretty desirable, no idea why you'd want a fake city figure though, the genuine LEGO one's aren't exactly going to bankrupt you. -

Thanks Greeble, We've tried this with a few figures now and love the result. Naturally it takes longer to do, so we tend to reserve it for figures, that warrant that level of detail.- 6 replies

The value of minifigures...
MinifigureHQ replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There's a lot of kudos in China for copying something, or making it just as good as the original. Its only a matter of time, as more people buy fakes, those producing them will have more to spend on production. Also high value figures are prime targets as thats where the money is, hence why they target marvel figures. Not seen a fake city policeman figure yet ;) -
Our Latest Minifigure - Dr Anatomini
MinifigureHQ replied to MinifigureHQ's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thanks Wardancer, our aim is to ensure that our figures would sit perfectly, side by side in someones collection of figures. Otherwise, rather than being eyecatching, they'd be an eye sore. We specifally create figures that LEGO simply don't or wouldn't create, rather than create versions of whats already out there. Essentially, we fill the gaps! So one of our other figures is Bruce Banner transforming into the Hulk, rather than trying to recreate the Hulk or Banner, we wanted something that would show the transition between the two. We're AFOLs our selves, so we just create stuff we want for our own collection ;)- 6 replies

The value of minifigures...
MinifigureHQ replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Not seen an image of it open. Seen pictures of the figure standing alone, but not seen an open package, nor do I own one. If they aren't sealed then telling them apart should be easy, but I guess that doesnt help if you've already handed over £££! for it. -
The value of minifigures...
MinifigureHQ replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The value in an SDCC figure is mostly in it being sealed, so you couldn't really ever tell without opening it, so the fear will always be a real one. Apparantly the chinese knock off's that plaster ebay, are pretty decent quality but again without opening it, how would you be able to check for the LEGO markings on the parts? -
The value of minifigures...
MinifigureHQ replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Its quite common, once you have one version you have to have them all, toy companies, especially action figures take full advantage of this, and will often release a different European version to say an American version, small changes like adding a belt, change of facial expression etc. Unfortunately this rule doesn't extend to all minifigures, some figures especially those such as Batman are virtually always reproduced so never really have much value. Figures such as the original Hulk hold high interest because his remake was different and the original set price was relatively high. Figures from Star Wars are also highly collectible, purely because its Star Wars go for the obvious ones, like main characters but also popular off shoot characters like some of the guards, storm troopers are nice to display but hold little value as they're always reproduced, slight tweaks over the years as LEGO improves its printing and design techniques, but ultimately all the same.
