  1. You're really good at this stuff! Can't wait for the final model.
  2. As remarked by many others, it is very precise. Maybe due to the fact that it goes left then right then left then right etc., the imprecisions cancel out? I.e. since there is only one circle more in counter-clockwise direction, there is no cumulative effect?
  3. No you cannot they won't fit. JopieK is right. Having the same length is far from the same thing as fitting. The old racks have a groove on the side which slides in the part JopieK posted.
  4. Totally disagree. This model was a very good choice! It is so elegant.
  5. It is indeed the clutch so no parts are damaged, but I think TLG should improve/change their design because it does sound horrible. The clutch gear on the other hand does not sound so bad.
  6. That looks so good with the small death star! I'm eagerly awaiting the SHIP. (It will be motorized right?)
  7. I did that in the hopes of hearing the air hiss through the valves. But what I got was so much... different. :D
  8. It would be even better if you could put this great model on rebrickable ;-) PS: big fan
  9. Hi Mark, Great stuff! What would really sell it is a movie I think. Any plans?
  10. Looks great! I'm curious to see how it works.
  11. It seems to me that the bracing might be insufficient. The 5x7 frames can be pushed apart by the motor, which causes the gears to slip. Looking at img_0285, you could put some 5x1 or 5x3 liftarms on there to keep them together tightly.
  12. The body work looks so good. And that from a single set... wow edit: Like JGW3000 said, maybe I should try to get this set...
  13. The old ones were really not that bad, but the new ones are certainly a step up! And consistency is always good.
  14. Two good points. I did not know that about the EV3 color sensor. How about if you use a NXT color sensor with the EV3 brick?
  15. That's a nice solution. I remember someone doing something similar with two color/light sensors. Since these can both sense light and transmit light. He had a whole communication protocol running I think. Can't find it now though.
  16. It looks like 8110 is procreating ;-)
  17. That is what I thought If I had enough of them I would probably also build some models of molecules/footballs. DrJB any good examples without bending axles? To embed an image you can simply click the "image icon" next to "Link" and "Unlink" and paste the url. Like so: edit: This only works if the image is already hosted somewhere, like yours.
  18. Nice design, and very powerful. BTW, I already noticed you have quite a few 57585 and 10288 when seeing the porcupine.
  19. You keep surprising me the depth that this subject has! Also, I realized that the layout in #182 or #186 can also be built with just two intersections and a bridge. Something to try next time the duplo trains come out :-)
  20. Very clever suspension. I would like to see it in motion.
  21. Very interesting. Maybe the best way to find max run layouts is by using a genetic algorithm. While not as satisfying as mathematical proof, it might be a practical approach in case of a high numbers of points.
  22. Very cool layout. Five intersections though... I won't be able to replicate it. The layout in #181 is closer, but we only have 4 lazy points I think. The wire arches do seem to be the easiest solution for linking.
  23. What a great build! jorgeopesi, TLG should produce tires like these ;-)
  24. That is part actually comes in metallic silver. You can find them for less than €0.10 a piece on BL The rest would still cost a fortune though. Oh and great model btw!!!
  25. Great work! Including the camera cars.
