  1. Lately I haven't done a lot of non-school related reading and have a pile of unopened books. But I have been reading a bit on the topic of Molecular Mimicry. Weird stuff. I also found myself reading about Lanternfish, which are possibly the most revolting animal imaginable.
  2. I'm curious where the line is drawn with respect to companies that could be considered both clones and competitors. For example Enlighten previous was into cloning LEGO sets, but the company seems to be shifting to creating their own original designed sets. Would discussing a non-pirated design set be allowed? Or would it still be considered bad, as it would still be in affect supporting a company that has stolen set designs and possibly still sells bootleg sets?
  3. Beautiful MOC! Very inspiring build. I love the observatory, very creative. It's also perfect timing with the autumn tree colours.
  4. Hell or High Water
  5. Taken 3. It's like a ultra weak version of The Fugitive, except with Liam Neeson quickly saving the day against Russians. Can have a different villain?
  6. Played through most of DragonWarrior 3.
  7. Coming to America. Cheesy but still funny. Hopefully up next : Trading Places. Another great 80s flick.
  8. What a great harvester you have created! It's so detailed, yet still looks fairly sleek. I know where this is from, haha. It applies to most government spending.
  9. What a lovely cottage! The overall design is really nice, especially the roof and the diagonal lava windows. The varied vegetation is a nice touch as well.
  10. Thanks so much for the kind words Eve Nightful. I was thinking about using some non-permanent paint on the balloon pieces of the sky ship since the light brown is a little bland. I bet using white balloon pieces would really make the sky ship foliage look vibrant.
  11. John Wick - Long and boring, with a pretty pointless plot. The Hateful Eight - Even longer. Found it boring, though the it became more interesting during the last 20% of the film. Way too much dialogue. Some lovely cinematography though, especially the shots of the snow capped landscape.
  12. Welcome Legophisto. Nice vehicle mocs!
  13. Good eve Hip, and welcome to the forums.
  14. I started reading a collection of short stories in Blue World by Robert McCammon. I previously had read Night Crawlers, which is in here too and wanted to check out more of his stuff. The stories are so far hit-or-miss. A few cheesy ones, but others are pretty good. Thanks!
  15. An earth castle would be amazing. Even if it were part of a massive tree, it would be grander than the Treetop Hideaway, because of the higher piece count of the castles. Plus we've already seen a lot of design improvements between the two Elves castle so far. I hope what ever they come up next year with will be interesting. There could also be some scenes of it in the early episodes, but I can't remember. I enjoyed the Treetop hideaway too. I just think it needed a bunch more leaves, which I ended up adding to my set.
  16. Could leprechaun be a placeholder name for gnome? Gnomes would make more sense, since they can be trouble makers too, have a bit more flexibility in their appearance, and they aren't as tied to modern stereotypes such as those associated with leprechauns (a green, Irish caricature). Dwarfs would be cool too.
  17. The newly released Precious Crystal Mine set is so wonderful that I just wanted it to be longer. So I've built a new development to the mining operation, featuring an underground resident of Elvendale. Dwarf mine
  18. MOCS for dragons! A mountain perch for Marina, the water dragon: Marina is fierce, and a little bat-like in appearance sometimes. Thorne meets a new elf named Melphis (her paint job is still not quite done yet.) Is baby dragon Miku going to the dark side? He is sitting on a dark throne. The crazy colour scheme was inspired by Ragana's Shadow Castle.
  19. "Death is the mother of beauty." -Wallace Stevens

  20. Just in the middle of that one. I didn't know it was going to be a collection of short stories from the cover description. But I guess Ray Bradbury has almost only written short stories. I enjoy his writing style in any case.
  21. If no one guesses correctly for a couple of days, you are welcome to change to a different movie/photo KamalMYafi.
  22. I have taken more photographs of Lego than of non-Lego this year. I need to go out more.
  23. Even if you never finish it, the facade is lovely never the less.
  24. Very sleek design with an amazing job on getting all the sections to open up so smoothly. Looks great!
  25. During the past week: Mockingjay Part 2 - Meh. Felt compelled to finish the series. Wasn't very memorable. Creed - Usually I'm not a fan of series that go on forever (this would be the 7th? Rocky movie), but this one was better than expected. First Blood (Rambo) - Love it. One of my favourite films.
