Thanks, I was hoping they would be well received.

We just displayed a few scenes at Brickfair Alabama. At the end when we start packing up my daughter says rather loudly 'does this mean I can have all my animals back now dad'? I was a little embarrassed :)

Thanks, I think that's a good suggestion, one I struggled with. You nailed it with 'lighting' being the main reason it is open, however a simple solution would be to hook up lights down there (simple I say but I am rubbish with lights). The other reason for leaving it semi open- 50 is covered 50 is open is to do with the flow of the view when looking at it. It's hard to explain but I like my designs like this to have a flow that naturally leads you to look at the next thing In the field of vision. It's funny because when I was showing my wife what I had built, I told her how I thought people would view the moc, which is the reason why it is angled on the corner of the table. I predicted most people wouldn't actually notice Rapunzels tower until last, which was the case. The only other reason for leaving it partly open, still has to do with the vision flow, is by having it like that, children were able to see further up and back. I build my MOC's like this ( I have only built two other large ones an Emdor scene and Hoth scene) to be viewed at from a child's angle. That view will be the most impressive. In my images I shared, the first is what most adults saw, the second is the perspective from a child's view, which is far more impressive. Thanks so much for your comments and thoughts.

Thanks for the kind words, it's probably the biggest one of my projects I have shared here. Cheers

This weekend we displayed a few MOCS as a family at Brickfair Alabama. We started building lego about 18 months ago and this was our third event. Primarily we have exhibited Star Wars Mocs that my young son and I worked on. As my daughter, who is now 6 has got more interested it has led me to build things that she enjoys both playing with and showing at events. So here we have our first effort at a fairytale world, I was inspired by some images that I have seen on here of a Rapunzel tower and Mermaid scene that were great. I knew I wanted a tower that looked like the images of Rapunzels tower online and I also knew that I wanted my ocean to be under the world we built. We custom painted our own Alice and Snow White and Dopey figiures and some of the dwarf's hats which was a fun experience. I hope that you enjoyed, we plan on a very large expansion on this in the months to come. Thanks for looking. This really is amazing. Building my own larger at at walkers I know how hard it is to get all the correct angles and proportions. Quite frankly I think this is exceptional, to do what you have done in a smaller scale is impressive to say the least. Very very good

Walmarts are clearing them at either $30 or $20.

Simply perfect

Minecraft and frozen sets are also priced too high. Is it a license thing?

So here is my take on the attack on Hoth set. A) we will find out soon enough, some of us will be right and some wrong. B) this is romours and discussions so I will do both C) one of the set designers of this worked on the EV. When I met him he said that the EW village was designed so that you could add on and combine multiple sets. Ideally 3 EV would make the ultimate endor set. They wanted to include images of it on the box but Lego shut it down as they didn't want people to think they had to spend $750 in order to get a complete set D) with knowledge of point c I can easily see how the set would include the now retired at at walker. Three sets gives you multiple vehicles which you need.

Disney Princess 2016 Rumors and Discussion
Bricksnaps replied to Amazing Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the DpI Picked up both of these today at legoland Florida, they got an early shipment. Both sets are really attractive in the boxes. -
Re: the Hoth set. Could it be- possibly that as some have mentioned, the Hoth name was a place holder and that in fact it is a playset for the snow planet/area in TFA? it is being kept a complete secret until the movie is released? Just a thought....

I want an army of the FI storm troopers as the big builds. My son loves these, I normally make minifig scale Mocs, but would love a Moc to fit these larger figures

Disney Princess 2016 Rumors and Discussion
Bricksnaps replied to Amazing Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
Lego. I just sung your praises in another thread. However, the Disney sets are lame. Characters are good, but please give our girls something to actually build. The trading post is completely pathetic. Mentioned in a previous comment that it is flat...that's true, make a building that girls can spend an hour or so building and can play in the inside and out. Really disappointed Lego. You let yourself down this time. -
I have a 9 year old son and 6 year old daughter. I am delighted at the offerings, both sets and on the pick a brick walls. Thank you Lego. Girls in general play differently than boys. Boys in general are good guy bad guy. Girls are not. Some cross sides. We have friends- home based. Princesses- movie tv based, now pop star and then best of all the Elves sets. The elves are great, they allow the girls to enter a fantasy world and play. Again thank you Lego. What would I like more of? More sets. Equality in the toy aisle. The sets together rather than different aisles. In the Lego catalogue, 80-90% of sets are boy related and girls at back. I would like to see a change here. Do Lego have a social responsibility? No. However in the last 5 years they have taken great strides. More sets please. 'Any more.

Yeah I am going back tomorrow to see if the same deal is on. It is a great up sell. It was a store in the south, again, they said they were one of only 10 stores in the US to be selected to trial this strategy. I will report back more when I know it :)

I was in my Lego store today and they offered me the Pirates chess set at 50% off retail because I had spent more than $50 (there was a sign on the counter) I took the deal- $30 for the Pirates set as it is a no brainier at thAt price as there are great pieces for mocing. Anyway the store said they are one of 10 test stores to test this strategy. Has anyone else seen this? What are your thoughts? The chance to get a brand new set at 50% off retail is great IMO. I am trying to work out why they are doing it- of course to move an item that is a slow mover, also maybe to stretch the customer to spend a few more dollars they would not normally have done. I will be buying more that's for certain. Anyone else?

Bring minifigs to trade. My 7 year old loves this. We bought a bag of minifigs and all the workers have minifigs on their name tags. You can trade any minifigs they have for ones you have. It makes it a really fun day. The only rule is that you trade like for like. For example if you only have a head body and legs, but they have head body legs and hat, they keep the hat. Make sense?

Well...my order or Reys speeder, Tie and Troop Transporter was minus the Tie. The Tie was missing when it came and I called SAH. They without question mailed me one. I was very impressed but all this quality control is concerning. It is not normal lego.
-
The issue is that the cockpit mold does not close correctly. Confirmed by SAH customer service today.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
Bricksnaps replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
With the SOLD OUT on S@H, notice that the description is tagged as 'Seasonal'. On the Series 13 and Simpsons, 'Seasonal' is not tagged. Could we be looking at a much smaller production run? -
I am really impressed also. I have the USC and love. But I love this clean build. Well done.
