  1. This project looks great! I love what you did with the 60051! I made a similar club car double decker into a modular design and I even put it up on Ideas, shortly after someone copied mine and tried to replicate my exact design but changed up parts i wouldnt have done because it looked bad i like how you did yours using the technique on the windows like used on the Horizon Express would you mind sharing the LXF files? I would love to build this its a great design and again, excellent work! I look forward to seeing your next ideas :)
  2. Was the Ferris Wheel designed by someone different than the one that designed the Mixer? I have both but the Ferris Wheel is by far my favorite. Its a little big but it fits snugly on my shelf with my modulars
  3. Not to be picky but can we get back on topic?
  4. I assume that means merry-go-round? lol will it be announced soon for a May release like the previous 2?
  5. Wow, were lucky we even got this update and now your asking, nay seemingly demanding an update already? way to be grateful that they are still updating the software for us.... Thank You LEGO!!! Please keep the support alive! btw, I noticed there are quite a few of the new pieces from this years releases, including the Brick Bank arch window, the Satyr's feet, the "tooth" looking tile from Mixels, and alot of Nexo Knights parts. even has the new flower piece with 6 stalks from last years Ferris Wheel and the inverted arch from the control booth. Very impressive to have the new pieces already in LDD. Noticed a glitch with the slurpee/slushie cup piece though, when you try to change the color of just the straw and cup it flashes that color but goes back to the last color, change the lid color and it changes the entire piece's color.... i hope its not a glitch with all the pieces...
  6. Has anyone had problems importing .lxf files from saved models. I recently re-installed Windows 10 and LDD, i just tried to import and open my saved models and it just causes the software to hang. I tried re-installing LDD and it did not help. I did manage to get it to import the file, but when it does import it, the model shows up but then LDD freezes. I am hoping my files are not corrupt because these are the only files I have of my models. If I have to uninstall LDD and reinstall, does anyone know how to save templates already saved within LDD? ALSO, I recently upgraded my GPU to an Nvidia GTX 980 Ti from an AMD 7870HD x2. Does that have anything to do with it? That screenshot looks like "artifacts" Meaning there is something wrong with the hardware (in this case the GPU) http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=gpu+artifacting&FORM=HDRSC2
  7. Is there a way to get it to use the GPU to make the render? I'm curious if a GPU like the GTX 980 Ti can render faster than my CPU (i7 4790k)
  8. That is a very neat ride, fits in with the first set. Supported!

    10251 Brick Bank

Here is my XL Brick Bank :D (just finished it today, took about 30hrs total) Not sure I care for the trees that are included in this set(s), the cage around the base are really only held on by 1 stud so they can freely move back and forth. It seems like LEGO quality in regard to design has gone down hill. I have seen so many steps in the instructions for recent modulars that you wouldn't have thought they would approve for the final design. Holding up a ceiling with just one stud or puting a 2x2 brick on top of a 1x2 without any support for the second half just being a few examples. (this layout was my only option so i took advantage of that and turned the "cut-in" into a parking stall area along the street, was going to do a bus stop but things change lol) I made this using the second calculator brick from the vault parts i had left over, made this into an ATM and it even has a slot to let you put in your "card" I lit this up using a USB LED LEGO 1x4 plate from Kickstarter
  10. Mine is the Southern Railway (US) 4501 and Norfolk and Western (US) Class J 611 just took this picture earlier today
  11. Is that the 4501 in your avatar? rumoredprobably because of the new Friends Coaster track that was released this year. why would Nesquick say its a Creator Expert train if its 4 wide? i don't think its 4 wide. They would end up doing what they did with the HE and EN. When the expert trains were designed they were made as slightly larger than the regular train sets. jump backwards to the launch of the Holiday train with the electric motor and circle track what did that cost? i think it will be similar with an updated look. but use the train wheels from the EN ahhh what a dream :D I LOVE steam trains and especially decorated Christmas trains
  12. While I don't have instructions made for it, I did design it in LDD and used Bluerender to make the render I based it on the Southern 4501 (the wheel arrangement is a little off because its using the same base that I did for my Class J 611 build (which I actually built in LEGO form but designed in LDD as well) I can share more soon, I just need to set up the track a little, I haven't really tested the engine one a whole set of track yet. I have thought about putting the 611 on the Ideas site but I already know it will require a license since last year they registered the engine to be protected by copyrights and trademarks to help pay for maintenance and running her.
  13. I personally think LEGO uses alot of the projects that don't even make it as inspiration for their own sometimes. I can see the designers seeing some of the projects and thinking "that seems like a neat idea, i'm gonna try that" blah blah blah
  14. Here is where I got that from Nesquik (see quote above) (and below)
  15. Has anyone heard if were getting another fairground set for 2016? The first 2, the Fairground Mixer and the Ferris Wheel were very nice sets and seemed like they were planning to do these annually. Any rumors?
  16. That is absolutely not true, LEGO trains sell out around the holidays and that is what LEGO wants, having them available all year is just a plus for AFOL's and train fans. Nesquik, can you chime in on this? also, if they do a new 2-6-4 steam loco, they should make it height proportionate too, like mine. as far as the colors, I love seeing decorated LEGO sets, especially the Winter Village sets which this new train should fit nicely into.
  17. I know that nesquik mentioned a Holiday Creator Expert Train this year (hope its true and not just a rumor) After they discontinued the Horizon Express and no replacement in sight, I started to get a little disappointed until he mentioned that new Holiday train. I missed out on the first Holiday train, and that looked really good.
  18. Thanks, I was wondering about that because it seems to lock up the PC a slight bit when rendering larger models. i am absolutely amazed by this rendering program 1st Photo: BlueRender with mods Photo 2: Render by POV Ray
  19. I have managed to figure out the horizon part :) I got a question though, does the rendering process use the GPU/Video Card or your CPU? it took about 30 mins to render that last image
  20. i kinda figured it was probably that, being the light source and all. Does it do this when you always use an angle from below facing upwards or will it always do it from an angle looking down? i tried the same angle in the photo below that one and it didn't have the horizon issue... i'll tinker with it for a while. I'm gonna problem start building a new modular in LDD so a new canvas to tinker with for a new render.
  21. I fixed the canvas problem but now I am running into this now... (yellowish top half of background (no matter what angle I use) I think it might be caused by one of the models in the photo because i didn't have the problem with (photo 2) the model on the bottom also is there a setting to disable the random brick gaps?
  22. I think the release of the Emerald Knight helped spark more interest into the train theme because many fans saw what was possible with with a few new elements and technic pieces. thanks to that design i was able to build my first steam loco moc. I hope TLG sees the interest that Emerald Knight has even for a re-release, but hopefully not a re-release of the same set but rather fit into the holiday theme as you mentioned but still be a functional steam engine. I am very excited by the Holiday Train news to see what it will look like, guess we'll find out in the fall (if they plan to still release it, as you said, plans do change which is why no major announcements until closer to release) Keep up the great work and look forward to the future of LEGO trains.

    10251 Brick Bank

Omg, is that with just 2 Brick Banks!? is there a MOC page for this or an LDD file? This looks way better than the single set, makes me want to buy 2 to do this. Edit: In my excitement I neglected to read the rest of the thread (very impressive indeed Sjaak)
  24. The more I look at your Aquazone models, the more I get to walk down memory lane. Some of the best years of my childhood was thanks to LEGO Aquazone, absolutely loved them. Thank you for posting your wonderful mocs :D
  25. Amazing moc! Love this. I have always loved the Aquazone theme. When I was growing up I liked to collect all the sets to get all the chrome crystals and then make a big vault with all the container boxes. These sets were so much fun back in the 90's and still to this day look better than the ones they did a new series for in the late 2000's Stingrays were also very neat and this moc reminds me of the big LEGO Stingray Stormer. I remember when I saw this on the shelf at Toys R Us I just had to have it. I was a very happy little boy that day. ahhh the memories of the Aquazone theme.
