    10264 Corner Garage

Nice catch. the colors look better in these images for being beside the Diner's bright colors. Sometimes this happens though where press images get released in the wrong color format. It's now hard to tell which is the true color after seeing this one as the Sand Blue matches more accurately on these instead of the official Lego site ones.

I personally like your designs better. Will you moc this set if you get it? improve it to match your design style perhaps? (Looking for inspiration)

    10264 Corner Garage

Ninjago buildings don't count as modulars... they don't go with the Modular buildings as far as look, not by a long shot. It's a completely different continent too. It clashes far more than the Diner first did.

    10264 Corner Garage

omg, shhhhh, don't say that because if I warm up to that idea, I would buy another one of those instead of this one...

    10264 Corner Garage

here's a fun tidbit, This set is indeed from 1950 as the description states on the Lego site

    10264 Corner Garage

This is certainly from the same era as the Diner. This was in the description on the Lego Shop @ Home page "On the ground level there’s a 1950s-style gas station with fuel pump, kiosk and a vehicle workshop complete with a roll-up door, vehicle lift and tire mounter"
  7. Well, you guys will get to see the final version before me, but I gotta get to bed... when I wake up, my Facebook feed will be flooded with Modular news lol you have a good point. that would be a good way to say, this is how things used to be and our future is much brighter now because of it.
  8. I can't believe I read that as "Leaked" and not "Leeked" till I clicked the Spoiler lol You got me good.
  9. Corner Building makes sense considering Lego retiring the BB, but it befuddles me that they discontinued the Detectives Office before the Parisian Restaurant. Unless the new modular is similar to it, I don't see why they did it though. Unless it had poor sales. as far as someone mentioned earlier, the piece count was leaked? I don't recall that being on the inventory sheet. Can someone collaborate on this? I have to agree. It's counterproductive to their "Green" philosophy they are going after. Maybe its not a gas station of this era? maybe it's Art Deco again? so maybe an old thyme tow truck too? also, 2,456 pieces is a bit low compared to previous modulars. Are they shrinking the pc count again?? but at the same time raising the price to $199.99 USD !? I was hoping for a building similar in piece count to the Town Hall... Edit: for those wondering in the West, like me! 15:00 CET is 9:00am EST - So less than 9hrs to go!
  10. Excuse me? I take offense to that.
  11. exactly, I just can't see parents shelling out the $169.99 USD for a set to complete a theme that is missing a Police Station because Lego does NOT release similar sets to the other in the same release year. Why do you guys think they retire similar sets before releasing new ones? Commonsense does play a role here to figure out how things work when it comes to business. It makes no sense to have a $170 police station, and a $89.99 police station in the City line at the same time (which would be inevitable since Modulars last around 4 years where City sets last 1-2years and Police & Fire alternate every other year. and the theme for 2019 is Fire anyway Jasper Joppe Geers, not responding directly to you for that entire response but rather, to this thread over all.
  12. Sorry to say this but, you're not sorry at all, and also you are picky AF. So from what I got from that reply was you like to talk and build up your ego. You know nothing. *winky face*
  13. You have to look at this from a business perspective. Police and Fire are the biggest sellers for Lego. They are NOT going to cannibalize their City lineup for a modular. The average ages of those City sets are between ages 7-10, the average ages for modulars are 14 and up. See the difference here? the point about shooting themselves in the foot comes when modulars are in production for atleast 4 years before they are retired. City lineups get a new Police Station every 2 years, so the fact here is, if they were to release a modular Police Station it would make little sense to release a Police Station in the City line also. Parents that buy those sets for kids are also not going to shell out $170 for a modular building that is not aimed at kids to begin with, its more tweens/adults. Looking at it from a business point of view is very important because that what Lego bases their decisions on and alot of common sense goes a long LONG way.
  14. Thank you! This is my thoughts exactly on the Technic comparison. Star Wars has no realistic looking ships at all. None of them are even possible to make in real life and none of the designs are even good. You are comparing Apples to Oranges here as Star Wars has its own attention, its own lineup, its own marketing its own damn division in Lego. Hell, we can blame Star Wars for the mediocre selection we get as AFOLs because of how much of the resources Lego invests in it. When people bring up Star Wars, it's laughable because Star Wars also gets its own UCS series whereas none of the other lines get that treatment at all. so again, Apples to Oranges. Would you like to try again? or did I make my point?
  15. I disagree that AFOL's want a Police Station lol I've been hearing that alot of them don't want it for the same reasons I stated above. as far as the garage, its likely to be a corner modular, which could actually end up using the entire footprint of the baseplate if it is indeed a garage. There are alot of modulars that don't even use the entire baseplate
  16. But that's the point... why waste a modular on a building that gets a design (even if its mediocre) every 2 years? the modulars as you just stated are something special indeed yes, unique buildings are what they are. We don't need a police station and I hope we never get one. Lego tends to make modulars that are multipurpose as well. example being the Detectives Office (apartments above and barber shop on side) Brickbank (laundry mat, apartment above). etc. a Police Station would also eat into their City sets because Modulars typically are available for more than 3-4 years depending on sales. (as we saw with Brick Bank and Detectives Office retiring before Parisian Restaurant) I am looking at the facts in front of me and being in marketing, it makes no sense to even do this. the Fire Brigade was a fluke because it was earlier on when the modulars weren't as popular and it was not a big seller from what I was reading (why its also harder to find on the grey market). the Police Precinct above is also too similar to the Brick Bank I think personally the Garage leak is legit, but I'm leaving it at that. Monday is 2 days away, so RELAX
  17. They didn't explicitly tell "everyone about it last year during The Lego House event launching the DD" The designer vid only said the Diner started out as a car dealership and that he liked cars from that era. He also said he was obsessed with angles and math as well as Art Deco styling that he used on his Diner design. There was absolutely no mention of garages at all. He also said "We don't have a Hotel yet, do we? Ooops" (Cafe Corner was technically just a Cafe with a Hotel sign, but it was not a hotel) Also, the internal document I still find credible because of the spelling error. Placeholder documents that are not final tend to have these grammatical errors. I've seen it in my 10+ years working in retail.
  18. The main reason we don't want a Police Station is because they make one every 2 years, same goes for the Fire Station... the Modular line is what little we AFOL's can appreciate design techniques and real architectural designs from. I'd rather see a unique building rather than an already used theme... I'm sure alot of people feel the same about people wanting Lego to bring back the Green Grocer or Cafe Corner too so no one wins, unique building is what everyone can agree on atleast... The only way I can see a Police Station working is if its like the Town Hall, but the problem with having it as a modular is, where do the Police Cars park? where are the cell blocks? the only police stations that are still like this, especially in America, are in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles as far as I know. example below:
  19. Usually internal documents not meant for public consumption DO indeed have spelling errors. I see it all the time working in retail. So you can't say they don't have spelling mistakes because internal documents don't necessarily need that "professional look". The public is who judges based on spelling errors, not employees... do you work in retail?
  20. This thread has gone off the rails since I last mentioned it was a Garage... Speculation is fun, but as far as the "clipping" of the list of sets, its from a member that works in a Lego Store, he can't give more info without being compromised and therefore could lose their job. I think giving us a generic list was good enough, people need to get off their high horse and stop being so condescending immediately discrediting it as fake because it had nothing to do with the Lego Tweet. Keep in mind, the people that run these social media sites have no clue what is going on unless they are scheduled to announce something as has been previous instances. The Winter Village Firehouse was a new idea they tried with viral style marketing. (Didn't work too well). As far as the Lego Tweet, you guys are looking way too much into that as if its a hint when its not. The person asked "Does Lego plan to announce a Police Station Modular next?" and then they replied "It's the sound the police...*music note* we'll have to wait to see what our designers have come up with" as far as the name, its a placeholder till its official as with any other unannounced retail info (they did it this way on purpose). and if they do indeed call it a Garage, it will likely be named "Mechanics Garage" making it "MG" and its more than likely a corner modular since there are currently none in production now. (and Lego tends to have atleast 2 straight and 1 corner available for purchase throughout the year) You might be onto something with that but that doesn't explain all the Garage info leaks so far. I can understand where a Music shop would fit in perfectly with the Diner though. (and from what I can see given what they did with the Diner and all the changes with the faces and how Lego wanted to "refresh the Modular line" according to the designer video, it sounds to me there could be less clashy themes this time around, or they will alternate each year between European and American Art Deco style buildings.
  21. very good point we have gotten a car in the more recent ones. would be nice to see a big corner building, similar in size to town hall
  22. if its art deco / streamlined. but totally agree, don't need a police station, they make one every 2 years...
  23. there was a reason why i didnt post it. but whatever...
  24. i suggest deleting that after what Lego Ambassador said yesterday
